I graduated from PTA school this week and I agree with Ian about the difficulty of the program. Some classes were a lot easier than others but Neuro was definitely the toughest lol
Hey Maria congratulations on graduating! Hope internship was fun lol. I'm finally on my last didactic before I head to clinicals! Btw....This is Joe ;)
yes, but the place you work at should be taking patients who will benefit your skills. the more certification the better/higher the chance for a raise.
In the 1st semester of my program. Loving it, the classes and instructors. My classmates are great people and we're already beginning to feel like a little family. But lectures are virtual (due to the pandemic), and I have a 2yr old and a 7mo old at home 5 out of 7 days. Juggling family with school is "a lot." I average 4-5 hours of sleep each night. If someone really finds the human body interesting, gets a high from helping others and is willing to prioritize the program just underneath basic needs/responsibilities than I think this is a great calling. The work IS the reward. But, if you're looking for something easy, cos it's 2 years of school for a decent salary, look elsewhere. This ain't it.
Ian must be a super smart guy. I have three kids, a wife, work, and am in my final semester of pta school. I have a lot of trouble balancing it all. I'm doing good but it's not easy by any means. I applaud him. Also, yes neuro was terrible. That and ortho in the same semester was not easy. Good video guys!
I just found your youtube channel and it´s amazing! I watched some videos because I want to become a PT, I´m finishing high school this year. I find your videos very useful, you helped me and showed me what you do as a PT so thanks very much! You have such a great content, I hope you will get more followers beacuse you deserve it! Have a great day!
I just got accepted into a PTA program but my question is, can you have tattoos? I really would like some but not sure if it’s okay for the profession.
Very grateful for all your videos. I'd love another check-in as to how things are going with the Medicare 2020 stuff... also Ian is such a cutie. Give us more Ian too!
Sir, i have a question. I Hope for your notice. So For example i graduated in highschool without any academic credit. Then went to College for PTA program. If i want to jump or advance into PT after 2/4 years PTA college. Does it have to be in a university or i can also advance to PT in college ? ur video is so helpful and make me more confident to become pta.
None, there are plenty of jobs out there. If you can't find any jobs in hospital , you'll def be hired at nursing homes, SNF, rehabs, and most definitely, outpatient. No PT , PTA can/will be unemployed. (NYC)
I’m a high school senior looking to become a PTA when I graduate this year but.... Math and science are NOT my strong suit at all! How much emphasis would you say is on those subjects. I really have a passion for helping people but I’m very intimidated by the course load, and if I’ll be able to even get into the program.
This video really was relatable to me in some way.. I was always wanting to do PTA/OTA but had a few obstacles to like get there but I did end up taking Massage Therapy but that didn’t work out so much so with all those years that I’ve just wasted on trying to figure things out. I decided to just go back to this original plan which is doing the OTA/PTA. For me I felt like it would just be more realistic. Massage Therapy wasn’t as of a realistic career path for me. Thank you for these videos my love for PTA/OTA just keeps growing even more
Thats wild they recorded the practical demonstration part... I already get nervous as it is before that portion of the test🤣 I apply into my community college PTA program coming up this spring. I've been following your videos sense the beginning of my journey and I'm finnalllly almost in the program (almost, 2 more required classes before I apply). Anyways, always super helpful:) thank you!

hi antonio, I recently emigrated to the usa and I really want to study PTA but I'm scared cause my english isn`t good and I tell myself "you can`t", it is like my impossible dream but idk I really wanna do it, do you think it is possible? I mean do you think a person can achieve it even if English is not their first language? I'm scareeeeeed
@@harumis5402 Because Medicare is decreasing reimbursement for PTA AND COTAs. Companies are not paying anymore. 2022, PTA and COTAs will be reimbursed 15% less than they are now for outpatient. That means bye bye outpatient jobs. believe me, it's not looking good and will get worse!
I love your videos man, ive been binge watching most of them because you cover all the bases in terms of answering questions and information. I truly want to pursue this career but I have never been strong in the field of science as biology was always my weak spot in high school. Should I still try to pursue it?
Seriously, thank you for your work. I’m a senior in high school and your channel has helped me understand a lot of what PT’s and PTA’s actually do
Awesome!

I’ve heard that PTA can increase their essential pay by getting their CLT(lymphedema) certification. Is this true?
yes, but the place you work at should be taking patients who will benefit your skills. the more certification the better/higher the chance for a raise.

Hello Antonio. Is there a current and future job outlook for PTAs due to healthcare cuts? Thanks
Antonio! Your videos have been incredibly helpful particularly researching amid the pandemic and stuck at the computer! Thank you!
I just got accepted into a PTA program but my question is, can you have tattoos? I really would like some but not sure if it’s okay for the profession.
How many years of pre-reqs do you have to take to start pta school?
Your videos get me excited to be a pta and make me feel more confident that I can be good at this ❤️

Hey, I’m in school for pta right now and I want to become a pt, what would I have to do next so I don’t waste time
Take the prerequisites for PT school and look for a bridge program!

Can you make a video of how many areas a pta can work in?
Antonio please tell the world how many PTAs are unemployed.

One of those times where I'm glad I'm living the single life lol! More time to focus on studies and class.

Do you use the math you took in college in pta?
Is 40 years old too late to start?
No
I'm 43 and just got accepted into the program.
I’m gonna go for it

Can I interview you for my PTHA class it’s for a project
I’m a LMT and I wish I can test out of PTA. I feel like it would be a waste of time relearned what I have taught at massage school. What should I do?
Manual therapy is about 3 weeks out of 2 years in PTA school I feel like

Are these questions the same for rehab aides?
Dead end career. You'll be phased out by 2026
