      Abdel Tassi ok and not to argue or say MOP isn’t a masterpiece because it is which btw Hetfield wrote minus most of the solos, however , where is Hammett’s cover of Petrucci’s work ?? Is it because he doesn’t respect him as a player ? Or because he couldn’t play 30 seconds of one of his songs ? Just a question .. not trying to disrespect your views etc. just a thought

Man metallica is such an awesome band, just the effect they have on me throughout my daily life and thousands of others continuing to introduce new people to the metal community, and inspire generations of amazing guitarists, they are a staple in metal and rock and roll history and on top of everything they remain a pretty humble, extremely nice and funny group of guys that make awesome music. I mean, yes they are not technical masters but they have managed to electrify huge audiences, they wrote legen... wait for it .... dary riffs and inspired milions of kids to pick up a guitar. Although people like Steve Vai or Paul Gilbert are technical masters, they didn't have such a big influence on the world as kirk or angus or slash.

    Probably the greatest guitarist of all time in terms of the sheer volume of epic riffs created. There’s 20-30 Metallica songs where you could just play a small sample of the riff only and people everywhere instantly recognize it’s Metallica. That’s hard to do, most bands maybe have a handful at most. Such a creative genius with music. Granted not the most technically gifted guitarist or whatever but that’s not what inspires an entire generation and kirk has managed to do that.

    If you remember the film "Some kind of Monster" Mr Hammet declairs to withdraw totally from personal ego. Those days, he was and on, till now is consequent; as we see. He is his unusually modest, sensitive hard working person. And it looks like, he is right, and his attitude missing an ounce of aggression. Mr Hetfield, Mr Ulrich would not withdraw from the huge business called Metallica. Mr Hamett can really afford it with Mr Robert Turillo. That makes a difference, if anybody compares the personalities. Respect, Sir Hammet. Poland loves You!

    He may not be the most technically proficient guitarist but surely millions of kids picked up the guitar because of him. Definitely one of the most influential.

    In all honesty Kirk really is the reason why I wanna pick up a guitar and have fun and just play. I find Kirk so inspiring , really he is the only guitarist I’ve ever been truly inspired by. Metallica has been there my whole life and I love them and Kirk especially so much. I truly thank god for them.
    I truly do view them as family.

      Kirk doesn't write? I mean of course James and Lars are responsible for most of Metallica's songs/riffs, but Kirk has written some! For example, he was the one who came up with the Enter Sandman riff. I mean, that's pretty fucking huge!

    You know how people often ask “name 3 celebrities you’d have over for a dinner party - Kirk would be one of those 3. He just seems like a lovely down to earth guy that would sit and chat music and life for hours and would make you feel so at ease (coz otherwise I’d be gobsmacked with awe and unable to talk!).

    8:42 Just realized that we've all been playing Damage, Inc. wrong for the past 30 years. Every single tab out there has him sliding the entire 4th chord up a fret (and then later down a fret), but he's clearly just hitting the top note almost arpeggio style (then doing a single fret pull-off later). Mind blown.

    Magical guitarist? Yes!. But, then Metallica would not be Metallica. Kirk's way of playing gives them the recognizable sound that is Metallica along with James' riffs

      CarcPazu Na pretty sure it's whammy springs, my guitar does the same if i don't dampen them.

    • @CarcPazu
      @CarcPazu 7 років тому +2

      Yeah you're probably right. Sounds a little too loud to be the headstock. I always dampen both since forever. Just need to cut little strips of the foam that comes in pickup boxes and shove it them in the springs. Same for the headstock' stings. (you probably know that, saying that for the others)

    • @jairocerritos3213
      @jairocerritos3213 6 років тому

      Don't dampen them too much or you'll lose sustain. The block and your springs play a huge factor in your sustain believe it or not.
