When I was first married over 50 years ago we separated our clothes by whites, lights and darks. Now everyone washes everything together. I still wash my whites separate so I can bleach to keep them white.

Do you always wash all clothes (black, light, white) together??? I sat there with my mouth open watching. At the very least wash white and light colours together and black (dark) colour separately. But hey, it's up to you, but I would never wash that way.
Yes we always wash it together, all of our clothes is not totally clear white its ok to wash it with colored☺️
