Pro Tip: When using an ultrasonic cleaner, you can put your cleaning solution and the part your cleaning into a glass jar and then put it in the cleaner that is filled with water. This makes it so you don't have to use an entire bottle/tub of cleaning solution if you're cleaning small things like jewelry and makes the storage of cleaners that can be used multiple times much easier and safer. The ultrasonic waves pass right through the glass with no issue. It is not recommended to use plastic containers because they could absorb the waves and hurt the efficiency of the cleaner. You could actually do this and show different things dissolving in multiple liquids without having to swap out the liquid for something different :D
If you were to put the actual coke bottle itself in the ultrassonic cleaner, the effect is exactly the same as putting mentos inside. The Backyard Scientist did this a few years ago, it's really cool.
I’m curious if they’d taken that chalk from the ultrasonic bath and put it in the vacuum chamber to quickly sublimate all the water off how it would’ve acted after
Bubblegum might be interesting to watch dissolve. Will it disintegrate into nothing or leave rubbery tar stuff behind? Orbeez or Polyacrylate (from diapers) might also be something interesting to try out in the Ultrasonic Vibrations chamber... maybe.
I’ve been thinking, since the reaction of Coke and Mentos is because of the texture of the Mentos if you make a mold using the Mentos would it have the same reaction with some things like say gummy
Ultrasonic marination. Fill 2 sealed bags with a steak and marinade, put one in the cleaner, and one outside the cleaner. Marinate for maybe an hour or something and then cook them to see if the texture or flavor is noticeably different.
Interesting video but I want to see either brew coffee in a washer or a dishwasher. Also attempt pressure washer coffee. Additionally try to ultrasonic brew coffee.
New side project for Cali, keep a running count of licks on a jaw breaker, and post updates periodically in other videos. Nate: and now for an update from Cali. Cali: 4568, 4569, 3570... Nate: riveting information, Cali, keep us updated.
Try full can of soda between building up pressure and the fact that the ultrasonic cleaner will put micro fissures in aluminum the end result could be very interesting!
Should put acetone in the ultrasonic cleaner and drop some lego in it. You should also have a stationary control right next to it. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation though.
Just so Calli knows, I've had a mega jawbreaker, and licking it for over a Week for like 20 minutes a day (or until my tongue hurt) and it managed to get only through one side. it took Days to get to the center lol
Yes, it's almost painful. Since it's an ultrasonic cleaner, it uses frequencies that humans normally can't hear (20 kHz+) but also produces some lower frequencies. I think I'm recognizing at least 3 harmonic frequencies by ear. And those sounds at the upper threshold of our hearing (variable by individual) can be downright painful or give that "nails on chalkboard" reaction
I used to repair ultrasonic bathes. To test and see how well it works we would put a piece of aluminum foil in the bath. When it is working correctly it makes holes in the foil.
I have a suggestion What if you use this machine to test if it would have the same effect on silicone when you put it in a vacuum chamber. MAYBE it woupd also have a reaction similar to removing the tiny bubbles when trying to make molds
I would have loved to see how long it took to dissolve the entire piece of chalk. Curious if adding salt changes anything, or sand, as abrasives. Maybe put fruit and veggies in there, also would love to see a non cooked egg versus an avocado seed. What would bar soap versus liquid soap do? Which would create more bubbles? Then take it further and do hard objects like rocks and golf balls. Can it polish a rock/gemstone? Could it clean age and dirt from antique bottles without damaging them? Can it clean old coins without damage? Especially old silver and gold coins. I wonder if this is the perfect solution to clean old coins without damage.
I’d like to see root beer in there as it keeps the foam better. It could be neat to see how much foam you can get. Also I’d like to see the bottle opened and placed in not poured in. See if you can recreate the same effect as Diet Coke and mentos. I’m also curious what non Newtonian fluids do in there, like oobleck or ketchup.
I miss what this place use to be, full of fun useful or cool videos, now it feels almost like a 5 minute craft video. I still love it but I wish there were more cool experiments.
Get some cow tongues from a butcher. Attach them to the outside of a wheel. the bottom of the wheel (6 o'clock) is submerged in water. 9 o'clock is touching a jawbreaker. Spin the wheel until the jawbreaker somewhat gone. Count the rotations of the wheel. Do math to figure out how many licks it took. to get to the center.
Instead of using liquids, could you mix powders in it? Like mix sugar and flour together? It’d also be fun to see what a film of flour would do on the bottom of the machine.
You should try and freeze dry Elmer‘s glue! Kind if like a part two 6 months after your dry ice and also heat experiments with the glue. Like this comments if you want to see that as well! :)
Many people know that Coca-Cola is a pretty nice anti rust agent. Therefore,... would a cola - filled sonic cleaner be better at removing rust than a professional anti rust agents?
What else can we test in the ultrasonic cleaner??
yes
Put cotton candy in it!!!
Marshmallow
a dog
i think you dan do SLIME!!?!!
Today I learned that Oh the Places You'll Go! takes place on the surface of a partially dissolved jawbreaker.
Came here to say this 😅
I was gonna say yhat
So does Burning Man.
That's what I thought to.😂🤣

The Coke in slow motion looks like a lot of mini explosions
It also looks like fungus lol
it technically is a lot of mini explosions. it is a chemical release resulting in a pressure based expansion.

Put Coke and mentos in the ultrasonic cleaner it will be interesting
YES
No u need to do that to the coke then take it out and put the mentos in it
Rootbeer and vanilla ice cream? Like a Rootbeer float
you wouldn't have time to turn it on, the reaction with the mentos would be instant.
It wouldn’t do much, the ultrasonic cleaner makes all the gas go out instantly, so does the mentos. What matters is how much gas is in the soda.
