A piece of cardboard
A glass bottle
An old book to rip off the pages
White glue and a hot glue gun
Anything you want to decorate your book :D

You could use newspaper. I was given some books in high school which where about politics & stuff I don't care much about. So I recycled them instead of throwing them away. Thanks for your comment though(:
