I think this shape polo looks better than the next shape up with the double style headlights
Love this video, just found one with 58,000 miles and managed to buy for £3,100. Had for 2 weeks and had a smile on my face the whole time. Cheers for covering the mighty 6n2 GTI!
I was 21 12 years ago with a cupra r and I always liked the 6n2 GTis, especially brave owners with the 1.8t engines. Good to see some appreciation for this little and great looking car.
Why brave, they prone to brake?
225-300bhp with a k04 is a lot for a polo. Rainy days would need a light foot.
I have one now, paid £3250, silver, 5 doors, all original, 60k on clock. It needed alloys doing and bonnet and wings resprayed which I've had done. Looks spot on and drives really well. I had a few bits done with the engine, mainly replacing anything that would affect performance and timing belt. I really enjoy it and I get quite a few positive comments.
A hope it came with air suspension for 3 grand lol, ye can pick these up for half that price bro
i bought a brand new one in 2001 .. really enjoyed it
Had one in flash red, not bad motor. Gearboxes are weak, 1.8t conversion is the right thing 🔥
Bought one a year ago. One owner, full vw-dealer service history. Paid 4000 euro for it and i enjoy it a lot!!
Cheers Jamie. Nice to see a car like mine being reviewed. The last time I checked about 230 Gti's on the road.
damn, I didn't know I belonged to such a small club. We need to make our own member cards 😂
I have the TDI 1.4 version its a good motor, would recommend
Love these cars! I've owned 2 at completely different ends of the spectrum and plan to get another one day. Still have a set of the factory BBS split rims sitting in my shed. Such a good spec for the year, xenon lights, electric windows and sunroof, 6 CD changer in the boot, climate control, the lot!
Are your wheels in good condition? The wheels on my car are very sad indeed.
I have a the 1.4tdi 6n2 £30 a yr tax model had it 10yrs, been great saved loads and still very nippy with the turbo / diesel torque, done 160k now, its fun drives like a go cart also now after no claims its only £25 a month insurance
Ive got two 6n2 gti polos both 3 door a red one and black one. Love them
Great video 👍 I have one 27k 1 owner garage parked all its life looks feels and drives like it just came of the production line and 23 yrs old completely original in every way
Every time when i have enough of my cupra 1.8t and want to get rid of it i see your intro and i want to modify it more :D
I brought mine in February this year for £1200 with 91k on the clock, again has had and still needs loads of work. Love it though! ❤️ I’ve already put so much money into this car already but have big plans.
man my first car was a clapped out white 6n2. "betty" old and knackered but kept going... Never really let me down either except a fuel pump and relay
Love my 6n2 gti ! It’s a grate back road toy
Lovely car!
My 1.4 Petrol 9n has 238,000miles and doesn’t miss a beat! Solid cars
My first car, silver with leather, Y286 DLS, loved it
I've got this exact car also a 3 door in black and it has run 336.000km at the moment (208.000 miles) still a fun car
I have the 6N1 GTI...very fun to drive...intense in a way, very quick around corners...and yes, you have to wanting this, it is special :)
Omg your giving the car credit where it’s dew.had my from new.it’s totally standard. 👍👍
Just watched you vid and totally agree. I’m 42 and I’ve owned mine (black) for 14 years and is on 173k! Had quite a few gearboxes and it’s on its 2nd engine but I cant bear to part with it. Anyone who has owned one will tell you the gearboxes are shocking but plenty of spares out there if you know where to look.
this is my first car and aboustley love it, zipping down b roads insurance is good too 870 a year with sterling
Very underrated IMO.
Had a 6n 1.3 that I've put a turbo on, sold it in January and miss that car every day
I have one I’m trying to buy the spoiler where ca I get it ?
I love your intro
I have a 106 and imo the polo has a nicer interior
Finally seeing my car on your channel!!! (Not literally mine, I do own a 58k miles 6n2 GTi though)
Also just a follow up a year of tax is £280 it's £154 for 6
Me too a Feb 2001 (so one of the very last) 6n2 GTI owner 116miles in the clock still going strong. Yes it needs much cosmetic cleaning up/restoration but love it (mine has Koni ST-R dampers and Eibech Pro-line springs all round. Yes it often has the odd wobbly but still a laugh.
Marvellous dearest
i drive one of these but not gti, 1.4 tdi but it feels kinda fast
I am a fellow owner of a 6n2 but unfortunately not the GTi version,i have a 1.4MPI 8v on 82k miles
What seats are that?
Long live the Vdubs
My beat up 2012 fiesta has over 160k miles on the clock. 170k for a W plate is winning 😂
I just brought a 6n2 polo about a month ago for 700 pound full service history and only done 70000 miles and in very good condition they are out there just very hard to find
Just bought a 6n2 polo 2001 with 90k km one month ago such a gem.
Looks very similar to the interior of the seat arosa I had, maybe they are shared?
Yeah are mate it’s apart of the vag group Volkswagen audi Skoda and seat etc all shared 👌
I bought one for £1,400 with only 28k miles on it
There’s a black one in Caithness Scotland 👌🔥
Bought one about a year ago for 1k at 19 for my first "sporty" car and I did enjoy it but I bought it from Birmingham so that kinda says the condition it was in, it was slammed and straight piped but drove pretty terribly. The engine is great and I liked the interior but many things didn't work and when it came to the mot it failed pretty badly and sold it for £500 about 6 months ago. In my opinion if you have one i would hold on to it because I kinda wish I did but with the way the prices are going I wouldn't buy one as there's a lot more car you can get for the money, such as a mk4 golf gti like I've just bought for less than my 6n2. Overall good car if you can find a clean one for cheap, quite fun to drive and look great but prices are getting ridiculous now to justify
Also it was on 120k which is a bit
Yea i bought a 1999 Toyota Chaser couple months ago from b'ham drove it to London and 3 days later it got nicked. Was told to avoid buying cars in b'ham at all costs.
@@r3h4n786 I don't think that has anything to do with it being from Birmingham...
What are the sizes of rims and tires, please?
I want to know too
High mileage thats funny my vw caravelle has over 415k on the clock
Just run in lol
Is your vw caravelle a diesel? Just out of curiosity... As this 6n2 is a petrol, high mileage for a 1.6 n/a petrol that's been ragged by every owner I'd say.
Yh 2.5 tdi
@@1992tpc I'd say that's a decent mileage for a diesel, probably still got another 150,000 in her yet then. 👌I was just highlighting that this little 1.6 naturally aspirated polo does have quite high mileage for a n/a petrol is all dude. 👍
to this day I still miss my base model 6n2 I owned until 2015....
My first car was a base model, I will forever love the 6n2, in a a3 1.8t quattro 180hp so would literally be like a 3rd of the power going back too a polo though lol
@@2sik_UK currently in a 1.4 corsa, all my cars since the polo have around the 90hp mark because while UK people get f*d on insurance fees, belgians get f*d on registration fees. the bigger the engine the more tax you pay... luckily my chevy is over 50yrs old and gets a flat rate of 37euros tax yearly :D
@@titof1984 damn mate, they're always after us petrol heads. Tbh tax isn't cheap here either, my 1.8t a3 I pay about 400 euros a year tax, we get taxed on emissions, then £1380 a year insurance (1616€) man, I hate tax and insurance prices.
@@2sik_UK as long as you don't go over 2.0L engine you pay about the same as you in yearly tax, but the insurance, whoah, I pay half of that for full coverage.
@@titof1984 its a joke mate, I'm not a rich guy or well off really I make 8.95 an hour and 40 hours a week, my insurance cost is about 10% of my yearly wage! I don't have any years no claims so it will go down next year and again but its too much, I only paid £750 for my car 🤣
saw this pop up.........also in a 6n2.........with bbs ......and of course it leaks oil and has mil lamp...its a REAL vw xD
Loved mine when it wasn’t breaking every 5 minutes 🤣
Take your Dodge RAM for some tame greenlaning/off roading
Not bad mileage my fabia VRS has 264k miles
All I remember people kept saying they ate gearboxes.
Not a clue if that’s true
They did, weak bearings and a gearbox not designed to take 125bhp
They only made 3397 of them. Its extremely rare
There is a lot a switch gear from a lupo/lupo GTI
Polo has a proper dashboard and much nicer door cards
Haw min polo 6n2 gti at min
I got my 6n2 for 800
Dose the intro song get any body else hyped or just me ??
Haha high millage nar that's low for a vw
Mileage not milage 🤣🤣🤣
