this sound like sad beautiful tragic of taylor Swift
i know im kinda late but i wanted to say that it sounds a lot like crazier by taylor swift just a bit slower
I'm glad Ryan covered this album cause it shows older generations who might be quick to judge her music with out even giving it a chance how incredibly talented she is. My dad finally understands why I love Taylor.
Guilty.
It's not like Ryan is old, he is 46,he is super young, not a teen, but young indeed, I'm 22, and i sometimes prefer the Ryan covers than the original songs, also my mom is 47 and she knows nothing about Ryan's existance, but she loves Taylor swift, so i don't think the age or the generation matter that much. 🤷🏻♀️
P. S.
I love them both Taylor and Ryan, great and amazing singers, talented AF. ✨
Certainly did that for me.
It’s her cover of his arrangements of my lyrics
Truth. I agree with coolbae1998.
ALSO- As a long lifetime Ryan Adams fan, after him covering 1989, I also became a Taylor Swift fan…not as much as RA, though enough to respect her music and listen to what she releases. 😊😊😊
I am having a very loving, caring, tender relationship with this song atm.
I've always known this song was meant for a sad interpretation, like it was supposed to be a very sad song if only not for the fast tempo. This cover does the justice, seriously.
+Michelle Liem If you think so you do really need to go listen to the acoustic version Taylor Swift performed at Grammy Museum
You'll know it's her song for sure
Ryan evokes that drama and release by using a technique the Italians developed called increasing. The song gradually gets louder providing tension in the listeners mind. First the writer has to set you up for the crescendo, which she or he did perfectly. That's the songs first half. Then a pause then the crecsendo to provide drama and finally, as if your sighing in relief a dininuendo. Its an Opera technique, but Tchaikovsky being such a bad ass for his days used it a lot. Well done Taylor or Ryan.
This cover. The entire album is just a masterpiece. I am speechless
He took this song to nostalgia.
This is more beautiful than I could have imagined. Thank you, Ryan, for making us all cry!!!
That's what Ryan does best. Makes his fans cry. I love his work for that.
It's so interesting how these different takes on the song completely change the feeling they bring. Taylor wanted her song to bring a hectic and chaotic feel, while Ryan gives this sings this song filled with desperation. It's different but both are great.
This was my least favorite on 1989 and Ryan Adams fucking made it incredible.
So much love and respect for this man.
The instrumental at the end kills me everytime
i'm pretty sure my heart just melted
+Alex Bray mine too, oh god !!
R A shows the world the depth of T's songs.
this is the deepest layer oF T's mind: some kind of awful despair, an abyss of longing that will never be filled
TS is a genius and R A is her prophet!!!!!!
love u both....
+Sargoss Golek Jesus Christ
u may call me Mr Golek.
Sargoss Golek "the depth of taylor swift's songs?" do you hear yourself?
Tommaso Silvestro
when the wise man points at the moon, the fool looks at his finger....
Ellipsis come in three, just so you know next time. And T.S.'s lyrics are pretty much as deep as a puddle of mud can be, when it hasn't been raining for a month. I suppose she just taps into that shallow and semplicistic emotional architecture that ordinary people can easily relate to (probably because she is one of them) ; it just bothers the f*ck out of me that people like you refer to this load of nonsense as an "abyss of longing and awful despair" and to her as a "genius" or like elsewhere stated "the greatest songwriter of our generation". When I read such things I struggle to keep my head from falling off my neck from laughing. Go listen to some Tom Waits or PJ Harvey or Radiohead and see how insignificant and absolutely uncomplicated her lyrics are.
This is my favourite track in this cover album.
Reminds me of "Ashes and Fire". Reminds me of John Mayer's XO.
+agun wiriadisasra Until you mentioned John Mayer, I thought you actually had good taste in music. Yuck!
Melanie Hill Have you ever listened his first three album or John Mayer Trio?
Just because John has history with Taylor doesn't mean he's a bad musician. He's an incredible artist and guitarist.
+star crossed You are right about Mayer and I sure as hell wouldn't let him date my daughter. lol Came her because I am a RA fan.
+agun wiriadisasra Dude, John Mayer sucks ass haha
I want to cry! This is fucking amazing. Good job here (':
Without any doubt, I love this cover, the whole different vibe to it but what the song misses is the sense of urgency and the anxiety that swift brings in with the vocals and the rage at the towards the bridge n the end. My opinion.
Have a good day:D
+Royston Aranha Thank you! I feel the same way. I was actually feeling a little bad about the dislike the original is getting on this page. I absolutely love the original's sense of urgency. This version is definitely wonderful, and one of my favourites from this cover album, but it's more like he's so deep in the woods and completely lost and desperate. Tay's is more urgent and fits in with the whole 'I REMEMBER thinking', whilst this isn't remembrance. Anyway, both are fantastic.
ibliveinme Thank you. If you have already taken a shot at RAs 1989 the difference you'll see is in the production.. I really loved the bad blood cover he did which I felt TS could have adopted his production n arrangements but agn felt RA couldn't add the hatred while singing the words bad blood. I like his style of Shake it off n the original one too. Both r the winners for me.
+Royston Aranha Same with Blank space. When Taylor sang 'got a long- list of ex lovers, they'll tell you I'm insane' she sounds so bitingly sarcastic and mocking. I loved it. Adams makes it sound sad, as if he's genuinely apologetic about hid insanity. I love both though. :)
i like the original better :/ can't explain why. But the bridge part "you were looking at me" always takes my breath away.
This makes me emotional in a beautiful sad way.
This is my favourite cover yet it was my least favourite on Tay's 1989. This is such a mesmerising beautiful cover!
this is the best cover!
The power of a well-written song is real.
+Mike Echlin The song is well written, but as in the case of pop music, the delivery is shit. Ryan Adams is singing Taylor Swft's songs how they should have been sung to begin with.
both in context, melodic composition, instrumentation and the artists delivery
@@huskysvideoarchive2256 you're kidding right?
"but the monsters turned out to be just cheese" 3:24
TRUTH!!! To all those who are in loving relationships with people who are lactose intolerant.
I like imagine the cutest vid of two lovers running around like children in the woods.. I don't know
+javiera vasquez "i like imagine"
I'm mesmerized by how beautiful this is.
When I saw Taylor at the Graham Norton Show I fell in love with her attidude and humour. I started to listen her songs and bumped into Out of the woods. I loved it! Right away and now my all time music hero covers her bigass song. This is my happy moment. I'd like to invite all of you to take a few minutes and listen to this beautiful great version of another awesome artist. Thanks for the music Taylor & Ryan!
I still haven't heard all the tracks, but I've already chosen this as my favorite. It's just perfect.
I thought it was weird that he did this album but he really shows how solid she is as a writer...pretty cool. He is a great interpreter.
wow, I enjoy this! it's so visualized! i feel like I'm traveling somewhere i don't know.
This is definitely my favourite from this album. Simply beautiful.
this is a masterpiece!
Woww this is good as hell and I come here as a very long time swifite fucking 6 years later!!!! Why did nobody tell me??
never thought a pop album like 1989 could be covered like an alternative album... great job Ryan Adams
From 4:30 onwards it's pure sublime music. Reminds me of The Smiths.
+Aprillis29 Gives me hope for humanity that people still listen to The Smiths
+Reverend Felcher I do.
+Aprillis29 You have good ears, before anything was released Ryan said he had recorded the album in the 'style' of The Smiths.
+Aprillis29 yep, "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want". Nice
Ryan is a big fan of Morrissey so that makes sense
I'm choked up. It's beautiful.
There is an importance to this album being produced by a woman and a man, that is to express from seemingly differing perspectives, yet such similar hearts, connected as humans. Taylor and Ryan express what is shared between two lovers, both with perhaps different appearances based on societal standards, and all so similar based on standard-less nature of being ❤❤❤ and the album artwork itself captures the complexities and simplicities of being human within nature that is beyond the abilities of human comprehension.
I love his rendition of 1989. It really allows the listener to hear the emotion behind the lyrics because it's not the sparkly pop version that Taylor Swift released it in. Sure, her version is fun and I do love a good Taylor album. But hearing songs in an unplugged or different light always changes the feel for me. It makes you think about what Taylor is trying to say and it's not covered up by an upbeat dance track. It's raw and emotional and meaningful.
when he sing the last " are we out of the woods?" part, you can feel the pain on her voice. So underrated.
OUT OF TGE WOOD IS THE BEST COVER RYAN DID ON THIS ALBUM. A MASTERPIECE OF ART!!!
My fave out of all the songs he covered on 1989.. He made it sound so good and painful.. Sighhhh. 👌🏻
So much Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I want in this version, which is awesome of course.
this. is. perfection.
The "are we are?" it's almost magical in this version. You can feel the pain in there.
This is wow
I love the original by TS but this mood is so so much better
I especially love the places he found to make the play of words on out and in
Ryan is a musical genius.
my favourite cover on the album hands down
The more I listen to this track the more I love it. Ryan's really exploring his voice in different ways here, flirting with a Jeff Buckley sort of tremor at times which makes his tone sound even more vulnerable. Just gorgeous.
God, besides the original and the Grammy Museum performance version of this song, this version is my favorite. I'm currently in love with it.
I like the orginal version's being a big song and how intense i gets when it goes into the briggde and comes soft with the "lion king" sound but I hear this its like a camp fire song and your just there feeling the woods.
Now I understand why taylor was going crazy for him. This is breathtakingly beautiful. This is what I was missing in my life :) Thank you
I'm so in love ... CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE
Colossal Blur
Forgive me swifties, but this is a rare occurrence when the cover is better than the original. This is beautiful
???? This is just the same notes played over and over again and his voice could not be blander. I respect your opinion, but it baffles me how anybody could possibly think this is better than the original
This melody is kind of the ones you can just listen at 2:43 in the morning and feel perfect.
This is a masterpiece
SO PERFECT I'M CRYNG RIGHT NOW
Its so beautiful, I want to cry
This song is perfect!!!!
beautiful, Ryan. you made some magic here.
Her songs are like poems and Ryan Adams brings out the poetry in them
Every song has a soul and RA brings it out here -
As a Ryan fan forever, I was touched and moved by his reinterpreting her work out of love of music and I was as pleased by her affectionate receptive affection. The opposite of what spawned the Me Too Movement and the Taylor’s Versions’ vengeance. Just musicians waltzing together to the same strains of distinctive tunes.
Plus Ryan’s suffered and weaves his pain into these versions that really put a different edge to them.
This record has ruined me. I no longer like anything else Ryan Adams has put out. Sad but true. This record is all I need. It's just so far and away better than anything else he's put out, vocally and production-wise. The lyrics (thank you TS - and I cannot listen to her record) work so well with RA's arrangements and performance. Every song on the record....every song.
Love is hell is my favourite but this is a close 2nd! I thought the other day......imagine if Taylor covered the "Prisoner" album?
Fan since 2001 Gold here 🙋🏻 As strange as it feels to say, this TS cover album is still one of my favorites of his. Every song is perfectly done. But one of his more recent albums, Romeo & Juliet, is really climbing the ranks. "At Home With the Animals" may be my favorite song he's ever written. Just thought I'd throw that out there! Check it out if ya haven't already.
beautibul, beautiful, beautiful versión, Taylor being so proud.
Ryan, you are a gift to mankind. I love this cover.
Best one. Art.
this cover helps me to release all my pain by crying all through the song, this is my pain reliever
this song is just beautiful... Ryan adams you are the man ...
This is simply perfection.
i loveeeeee this version
just like what taylor says. its surreal and haunting...
my favorites are this love, all you have to do was stay, how you get the girl and i havent listen to clean yet.its also one of my favorite.
cheers to adam and tay!!!!!
MY FAVORITE ONE
his voice suits perfectly the sad post-breakup storyline i have made up in my mind listening to the original version. i live for this track!
Oh my god I loved this song so much. Ryan made this song another beautifully way. This song is filling my Soul. I cant even...
Oh this gem is IT on this album.. serenading my soul this morning.. thanks #ryanadams♾
This is beautiful!!!
Ryan Adams touch the sky with this song! Fucking Genius
That is the best Vision of that Song. I love it so much!😍😘🥰❤🌹💖💞💝💓🔥😉😋🤤
towards the end, its nice to hear the Johnny Marr influence.... nice touch DRA!
I can't explain how this cover makes me feel, but it's one of the most beautiful feelings i've ever had with a song. It goes from the ears directly to my heart and my soul especially the instrumental part at the end of the song.. I love taylor swift, but this cover is freakin awesome. thanks for this gift ❤
i am so floored by this song. and i constantly come back to put it on repeat. and it makes me sad and so misty in eyes and go get lost in the morning woods, without any disturbance. great work Ryan. and love you forever Taylor.
Such a beautiful song. Mesmerising. If you don't like this song there is no hope for you....
The difference between 'are we out...' and 'are we out of the woods yet' is why this is better than the original
Love the strings in the rollout at the end of the song.
My, that was rather lovely. :) 💜
This is just beautiful.
This is just soo freaking beautiful. Feels like i can feel me. Awwe.some!
This song makes me soo emotional..
I love both covers. They're both so different to even compare. Taylor wanted the song to portray exactly how she felt during a relationship where there was no assurance. Which is excitement, anxiety and adrenaline. Her sound was frantic and pumping. While Ryan focused more on the pain of not knowing what happens next. He used a more melancholic haunting approach. So really both are amazing and very very different as well.
My favourite so far!
My fav track!! Just love the melody!
This album is stellar.
this guy's fucking amazing and i just found out about him...
that's a rabbit hole that lasts about a decade, from whiskeytown on through today
Have ya'll heard the Jayhawks?
Try two decades. Damn, I feel old now.
jayhawks have amazing melodies but lack the gut wrenching lyrical talent Ryan has always had
speechless in the presence of this cover.
Best song on this cover album.
Beautiful cover.
TS and RA are both brilliant shining stars on different trajectories
now i realize the sadness that Taylor was feeling....need to go back to Taylor's album.....whole new meaning
I was freezing whole way threw this song
Mainly from shivers down my spine constanly
Heard this last night @ the Moa Arena while waiting for The Vamps to play!!! WOOH amazing! :)
oh i love this
true artistry. maybe i would start listening to popular radio again if stuff like this actually made it on there.
This is Soooooooo good!
TS must be blown away by what he did to this. Masterpiece.
