Ive found out that getting 2 points in q and 2 in w by level 5 is just therapeutic. With your usual buys it just makes it so w takes the caster minions to a low enough threshold that your q can immediately kill them after. Its so satisfying for the stackies
Yes, early points into w is very helpful. I start it level 1 because q is just so lackluster till it at least has 25 stacks.

You gotta play smolder like an AD mage, I knew that from the second I saw his kit and I find it baffling that people are seemingly in denial about that.
I think they should make his E toggle on/off like old Asol’s W and cost mana on the duration . Because he is extremely squishy and the E isnt enough to give him survivability and the fact his only damage source is Q I believe it would be a good idea to make his E toggle on

@@HungryGuy3 They said *old* Asol W. The release version before reworks. Bit of a strange ability to compare it to but just a toggle like Amumu W you might be familiar with.

Yesterday we played with a smolder in our team. We had to hold the game until min 40 for him doing some dmg and being useful. Needs buff 100%.
Get comet, absolute focus and scorch.
Level W first. At level 5 keep W at 3 then max Q.
Just poke with your W. At level 1 with the runes you already doing heavy poke dmg, more importantly caster minion will get half hp getting hit by it.
Essence reaver cdr boot then navori. After that your choice.
I think his e should be changed to apply on hit effects. Like press the attack, botrk etc. cause as right now it's only scaling is his stacks and "crit" (crit increases the ammount of hits)
You should try the the Korean comet build on him

Why would you go manamune trinity over essence reaver navori
now granted trinity is weak right now but navori is a noob trap imo. You don't get that much benefit from it since this champ doesn't auto and the main benefit from crit is the e which does no dmg.
navori makes his abilities do more dmg the more crit you have@@nfzeta128
@@nfzeta128 but what I think you fail to understand is that his Q counts as an auto, so when he is spamming Q he is actively benefiting from his navori
@@mr.gagoon4050 a q that is natively on a higher CD than would be so with shojin, and requires you to be in range more to benefit from.
An early shojin not only helps with dmg but the lower CD and increased dmg means quicker stacking

Why triforce instead of essence reaver? He scales with crit
The difference isnt that high tbh, ive done ap, lethality, and crit and crits only slightly higher than the others
by 15 min you wouldve had enough gold for ER instead of building into Mura and TF, youd have a complete item and dealing more dmg with no mana problems
While the mini elder on his kit is so fun, I feel like they should remove it or nerf it to ge ground and shift more power to his other abilities. I mean his W is literally a sneeze apart from getting stacks I dont see a reason to use it.
I'm pretty sure he is this weak because they balance around his Q and how powerful that last powerup is.
they failed so hard with this champ, they could make something cool like kayle where from lvl 1-6 he's in his baby form like he is now, then from 6-11 he's slightly bigger and his abilities get upgraded then at 16+ he becomes an adult dragon with fully evolved abilities but no.

Legit feels better than AD Smolder. His kit has pathetic AD scaling and gives no incentive to auto attack.
I predict a tank Smolder build to come out where you just kite and spam Q burn.
there are plenty of videos. idea is overused and makes no sense when the whole champ scales off of AD and CRIT

Basically an artillery mage that deal physical dmg, forget about auto attacking, play him like how you play Ziggs
@@skelto1019 only Q and E scale with crit, and the scaling is just there to limit his build variety. Nothing in his kit create any incentive for auto attacking,and his E is his only escape tool which mean you are not gonna use it for the damage much, which mean your crit gonna be waste anyway.
there can be no full magic damage smolder as *EVERY* single ability does physical damage the only magic damage he has is his dragon practice which wont scale until late game. that said you can build ap cuz his ap scalings arent horrible but you cant build magic pen ( or shouldnt cuz hes all physical) so ap is just weaker. instead i would try him kinda onhit cuz his q does work with onhits. you could go triforce, botrk, rageblade, kraken slayer, terminus. i think that could be fun but dangerous cuz this built requires weaving autos and like he said in the video this champ is a q bot.

I do believe that riot should do Kayle protocol, (swap his 150 and 225 effect)make burn from 150 and split on 225+ so he can be useful until 20 mins ((so your team won't surrender)) and give splash later into the game for team fights
I feel like they need to make him scale faster towards his elder drag buff. Instead of 225 stacks make it like 200.
This champion needs major changes. His w,e,r besides doing negative damage are the most easily dodgeable abilities in the game. Plus he takes too much time to scale

I played like 15 games and lategame ult deals half enemy adc HP. And if ppl realize to not use recomended runes and recomended skill orders, he can harass ealy game really badly (harassed GM Lucian/Milio out of lane at lvl 3)

Man, disney dragon does 0 damage. Multiple times i was thinking, "with this farm and kills with ezreal 2qs would kill, with jinx 3 hits would kill from much greater range, with varus i could just ult and kill with wq"

I swapped Shojin for Navori and the build is really good.
I think shojin is always better than navori. If anything swap tri for ER.

I don’t see how people make that comparison, he’s literally nothing like ezreal.
Ezreal has a higher reach, he can spam his Q faster and has a lot more mobility than Smoulder.
Quantum gives me the vibe that he isn’t allowed within 200 feet of a school
