- Join along as I ride along in a Fendt 1038 Pulling a 6350 Nuhn tanker from Valley Side Farm in Woodstock Connecticut as they work on moving cow manure at Fairholm Farm in Woodstock Connecticut. Also feature a Fendt 824 pulling a Houle 5250 and a International 10 wheel with a Houle 4250 from Fairholm Farm. Thank you for watching along
What i really like about your channel is you are just yourself. Dont have a big shop, dont have newest tractors. This is us and im proud to be a farmer
I appreciate that
Here here, all these other fancy folk, keep it real
Best comment so so true he is one of us
Haha that township guy was a legend😂😂
Guy at the end.... love that.
Gotta love that kid from Dudley! Couldn’t get much more local color than that. Chris thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching along
Went to the Fendt tractor factory years back! Simply the the best tractors made! That all you see in Germany
in Germany you also see a lot of Claas tractors..Also made in Germany
Nice. Nice set up. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching
I allways chuckle when I see farmers outside of Europe comment and use Fendt tractors and are fascinated by them. They are common as dirt here where I live. Beasts and beauty of a machine non the less.
FENDT!!!!! They are an awesome tractor!! The new Fendt One display is on the 700 series in Europe this year and that is awesome as well!!!!!
That steering is cool. My neighbors are always wearing out wheel bearing on their’s. They are talking about getting one that steers.
Woodstock CT. There's a big fair there every year. Not far from where I grew up. Cool!
the guy at the end was pretty entertaining
2 guys from Dudley keepin' it real at the end. I'm pretty sure I know the guy in the passenger seat. I go past these fields a lot and never saw them spreading. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching
Balzer 6750’s with VTI injectors and Deere Four Wheel drives. Awesome vid
Absolutely fantastic setup!
A great video,
It takes some serious money for a setup like that!
Thanks for watching and it sure does as he said to me it takes alot of custom spreading to make it all work out but it's nice to run new reliable equipment and be able to just go instead of be broke down in a time of need
@@DuffyAg being broken down is a disaster but worrying about repayments is stressful too. Finding a balance I suppose, getting your hands on reasonably houred proven models, as opposed to brands, with a good a dealership nearby.
Pretty cool to see family on UA-cam
It was great watching the fendt and tanker love fendt tractor s and valtra
I am new. Seen most of your videos. You have great content. I’m ex dairymen, ex milking equipment sales and service, ex dairy designer. See why I like your videos. I miss all things that you are doing!
Thanks for watching along
That was soooooo close I almost could smell it! And I live in Maryland!
Thanks for the video 👍
Its amazing that you're in Ct an no interference from special people....I guess not all people are as sensitive as the Yuppies in Mass.
They complain here too and drive like idiots around equipment on the road believe me. Had some lady complain to the custom guy we use about wrapping bales too much plastic and she is off the grid with solar and has an electric car. It must kill her to look out her window now and see that stack of bales.
LOL...live nearby, the busy body newcomers to town refer to their political opponents as the manure mafia.
CHRIS Really enjoyed the video. Have to give you alot of credit for all you're dojg
Appreciate it that means alot
Thanks for the ride down chandler school, on 197 past the American flag barn then into quinebaug. They do an awesome job up there at both of those farms. If you're up Woodstock way again keep an eye out fairview has a jcb fastrac
Fair view bought 2 Fastracs! Simply amazing tractors
This Fendt and tanker are really top notch. But then so is your Jaguar. I like your 2×2 deere too.
Keep up with the good videos!
Appreciate it
1050 on duals all round been in one once felt like a great tractor an hopefully get to start my own farm an own a 1059
Fendt's are nice tractors. Always wanted one but they are quite expensive.
depends where you live, especially in america those fendts are prices WAY beyond what i here in belgium pay for one.
mike mitchell in canada once said he paid just as much for a 1050 as for a case qaudtrac which blows my mind cause here i pay close 200k less for a 1050.
@@Matt___B I live in Wisconsin, USA. Most new tractors are so high priced, especially the Fendt.
you also have to consider the second hand value of the tractor. here in Norway used Fendts sell at a premium..
I'm in Australia and they are becoming extremely popular. Here they are are about 20% more than a JD or MF. I have a 317 which is 130hp. I just love it. You set your PTO speed and go as fast or as slow as you like. The only complaint I have is that the cab only has room for 1 dog, I need the cab to take 3 dogs.
@@geoffthefarmer i hear you about the dogs 🐕 🤣 ☝️
I miss making these tanks!
Custom guy with a dragline hauls ours. 340 Stieger with a 24' toolbar with Pottinger disks on it. Otherwise I have a Balzer 1800 gallon vac tank that I run with my Tw5 Ford. Just use the vac tank to haul on hay ground, or to take some out if the pit gets to full waiting for the custom guy.
I run a 1046 fendt with a four axle houle 10500 gallon tanker, must say fendt is the best tractor I have ever run
Those guys are super nice
Guy at the end had me rolling 😂😂
My neighbors own 7 fendts here in Pennsylvania. They have a 412, 712, 722, 818, two 933’s and a 1050. The lease is almost done on the 1050 and I believe that are getting an 1156 mt. But they have had a total of 8 fendts. One caught on fire a few years ago.
Thats a fleet
😂😂😂 The guy in the truck.
We run a Fendt 933 on a tank like that but with big tires
That fendt's ant even full spec only going 55kph the euro ones do like 65 kph factory and i know blokes that have one that does more than 65 kph. Very nice tractor! Thanks for the video
yeh in the UK the 9 and 10 series do 65kmh/ 40.3mph,
JCB fastrac's are quicker again with some doing 47mph
You work Ur ass off and watching makes me relax 🇺🇸🤘🤘❤️❤️✋️✋️
Duffy: "That's a sweet tank!" Indeed. As they say, "Smells like money to me." It smells even better than that to the soil, however. Sorry you have to haul it so far (but perhaps it's best the neighbors aren't close...)
His videos make me appreciate Cabot cheeses all the more.
My manure setup is a Case IH 7130 Magnum and a 4000 gallon Husky tank. It’s not fancy, but it’s bulletproof
That is definitely a bullet proof setup
We run 2 houle 7300gal with fendt 933’s no problem. I was thinking that 1038 on a 6300gal was a bit overkill. Guys around us have 1042 fendts running 10,000gal 4axle spreaders all day. Overall good video and good review
The smaller tank makes navigating around here alot nicer. The 1038 is also used to pack bunk the had a 933 prior
I thought to begin with as you stood next to it that it looked smaller than our neighbour's who milk 1500 head of cattle but then I looked at the stats and it is about the same capacity just a little shorter but wider though technically I don't believe here that can fill it right up and travel along the road due to weight restrictions (UK)
We run a 8295R on a 6750 aa Nuhn and 6250R on a 5000Nuhn and we got hills
For manure I run a pooper scooper to the garbage.
Seems to get the job done just fine with 'only' 380hp, also gotta remember to factor in the close to 1500 ft-lbs of torque it puts out too lol. Fendts may be up there in the expense department but they sure are nice and fancy. Also it''s crazy how fast that tank empties when spraying, does it empty just as fast when using the disks to inject? Great video too btw love seeing new/different equipment!
With only 380 hp I'm not sure why you wouldn't step down to the 900 series, isn't there a 940?
They had a 933 and upgraded to the 1038. They also use the tractor for packing bunk
@@EFCasual well, yes, the 942 has 410hp vs 396 on the 1038.
but the 1000 series is heavier so it comes in handy for other jobs like compacting
You could do a few videos on Lucas and his inventions or one on the creamery as well awesome video
We will see if I can get more into it, have alot planned and a lot to do
I'll buy u thay 724 u were talking about Chris!
I miss hauling the 15,000 doubles
We have a john deere 8300 and rent a houle tri-axle 5250 to haul our manure. Not fancy but cheaper than hiring someone to do it.
We have 5 John Deere 8370R with 7300 gallon houle tankers, and also have 7 peterbilt semis with 6000 gallon Calumet tanks.
That sounds like a fleet, where you located
We are in East central Wisconsin, also do custom forage harvesting, have 2 John Deere 9900i choppers and 1 8700i. And newest edition to the fleet this fall was a John deere S680 combine. Have a bunch of equipment but comes with a pile of debt, wish we could get away with older stuff but time is money and down time is a killer
When you were on your road trip threw Wisconsin you were probably only 40 miles from our home farm and shop
Not what I expected when he stopped y'all. My NH 165 with a Fendt 712 or 409...one day I'll have a 1050 lol
You can always dream !! Sweet shit hauler
Duffy there’s not a whole lot out there video wise on these milking robots would love to see a nice detailed video on them
I plan on having more of them
🤙
Too bad there wasn't a high dollar subdivision adjoining the field on that first spray.
What model pump and load stand is that?
Hey i recogize that sticker lol i work at mm weaver not sure if ive touched that tractor or not tho i work at our waynesboro location. Im pretty sure we have a used 1038 for sale.
Weavers is top notch really appreciate the support they give me on my old chopper. Everyone up this way is diehard Weavers once they start working with them. I'd like a 722 someday
@@DuffyAg we love to hear that lol keep up the good work im sure well get you in a fendt oneday
Try Holmer Terra Variant
Never had anything to do debt too new for me
I'll stick to my dragline setup. But we're only 1 mile to the farthest field. Robots are in my 5 yr plan.
There's only 2 drag line setups I know of in Connecticut. None in Massachusetts. It makes it hard small fields all spread out and lots of houses. It's definitely the best way if you can tho
I wish we had dealer support for agco up here
They get service from mm weaver in Pennsylvania
Weavers is by far the best dealership I work with they support me on everything for my chopper
@@DuffyAg all that’s within fa reasonable distance to me is m&b (kubota) chapel tractor (cnh) and rosencrantz (Deere). Not a lot of support around me
Man I love fendt tractors best out their IMO jd’s are nice but i prefer fendt all day
Duff.... aren't your front tires backwards on the fendt ? Looks like the treads are reversed.
Its less wear on the tyres whwn used on roads a lot
They run them backwards to help with tire wear. I have friends that run them backwards to help with traction while packing bunk as well
With those Fendt tractors.. Why are they always using their " park anywhere button" AKA both blinkers?
Is that common in the US?
Yes in the US we are supposed to run flashers on farm equipment on the roads. I know every other country does not
Why did they mount the front tires on backwards on the Fendt.
Was just thinking the samething??
Less wear on the front tyres when doing road work.
The tires wear more evenly when mounted in reverse. When doing a lot of road work and not needing the 4wd it makes sense. Done on tankers here in Ireland but rarely on tractors because of poor ground conditions.
The purpose in mounting the tires the "wrong way" is, when you do a lot of transport work on the road you have less tire noise but also that the tires wear evenly. I think that this is written down in the Fendt user manual aswell. I actually live in Bavaria Germany under an hour away from the Fendt main production facility in Marktoberdorf and i can say we love the Fendts here but we also have a good amount of John Deere tractors here in Europe.
They run them backwards to help with tire wear. I have friends that run them backwards to help with traction while packing bunk as well
Is there a reason the front tires are reversed on the fendt?
Alot of custom guys who run on the road swear they get a bit better tire wear and ride out of it. Havent really rode in one with the tires flipped or broke it down mile per tire to see the impact but ive seen quite a few custom farmers do it on there fendts
They run them backwards to help with tire wear. I have friends that run them backwards to help with traction while packing bunk as well
Is it legal to spread liquid manure on top of frozen ground in Ct. in January? We can't in Pa.
Yes Connecticut and Massachusetts you can spread year round
We can't spread liquid manure in our county in Wisconsin. Others counties here you can though.
Buy a massy , same in red 👏
I can smell this video 🤣🤣
D p w guys..wicked pisser pot power bruuah... haha
Did he say he got his tank from allegany ag
Yes thats where it came from
@@DuffyAg ok thats cool there only a few miles down the road from our waynesboro store in md or at least one of there stores is not sure if they have several or not.
Massey Ferguson 8000 serien 💪
hmmm front tires on that fent are on backwards, that is an interesting tactic
They run them backwards to help with tire wear. I have friends that run them backwards to help with traction while packing bunk as well
@@DuffyAg yeah thought as much, but in that case they already look pretty worn, somehow worse than our 25 year old tractore, must relly get a lot of use out of it.
Why not a versatile straight frame Cummins motor cat powershift
Dealership support is number 1 reason
Where’s the closest fendt dealer to Middleton
that set up came from (MM Weaver)
MM weaver will sell to you no matter where your at and our sales team will work with you to get everyrhing squared away. If your interested call one of our stores and talk to a salesman. We have 2 locations one in leola pa and one in waynesboro pa
Do you remember a guy named Jesse Phillips
I do. From PA?
@@DuffyAg yes
What do you have to say about him
I am at 0:01 and I am going to call this as a delve into clickbait youtubeness and the fallacy of the thumbnail.............. the trifecta will be how many times the video features the phrase "I'm not gonna lie"
This is the first american farming video where tractors have proper wheels and tires mounted. Not the for the US usual thin soil cutters...
Also called row-crop tractors. Those soil cutters have a purpose maybe just not in your inbred village. have a good day.
Yes, because we all know you folks over there do everything "proper" and we over here are just a bunch of dummies cutting up our soil with our thin tires. lol
You may wanna edit the ending, when that random guy was talking you guys. There was a lot of cursing from him.
He needs rear wheel weights.
The tractor has rear wheel weights he talked about putting weight on the tongue of the tanker
Fent is a little yes but no
no money in dairy? yea right
Hauling manure is one of the most expensive things on a farm for sure and it never ends. This operation hauls for multiple farms to pay for having nice equipment
Lucas does quite a bit of custom work to pay for the equipment.
ew fendts haha just kidding
