- Welcome back to another episode of Thunder RC! In this video I do a comparison between the Kraken Vesla and the Rovan 5D Buggy! Both of these rc cars are 5th scale buggies however they are completely different in style and design. Which truck do you prefer and which one would you buy? Enjoy! #rc #rccars #buggy #new
A great shoot out from the thunder is always welcome in my cribs. I would say the 4WD. I'm just partial to power to all the wheels. Just makes more sense in a RC'ed Rig.

🌩🌩🌩That was awesome, Rocky! Another nice video session with the girls. Like you said, they both have their pros and cons. But they are BOTH amazing machines and sing to the heavens. It depends on the money you're willing to spend and personal preference. I like the 4x4 platform. Lol.
It was nice to see them out there tearing it up after all this miserable rain we've been having. It hasn't stopped raining long enough for me to get the girls out, but it's supposed to be sunny this weekend.🌩🌩🌩🤪❤💯🤘👍👍👊✊💥❤

I definitely prefer the Losi 5ive T SC Truck. You can do everything with it and there are a ton of spare and tuning parts out there. And converted to brushless 8S its just a beast of a RC car.
But most of the pods are interchangeable with the roven I think and he has his brushless too

Someone needs to hold a endurance race somewhere. Way back when they did it I think over in Europe with the Baja and it was incredible.
Those companies need to get together and do it. You’ve got to spend it to make it.

God Bless you bro yeah 1/5 scale gas is the pinnacle of the RC hobby in my opinion and these new engines are insane. The power to weight ratio is incredible plus you can run them all day. The endurance race would be awesome

I'd go the vesla.5 as it has exceeded my expectations through your videos so far except the radio, stock 32cc and the rear tires 🥴🤣 .. I have a 4wd already losi 5t 2.0 with OBR full mod 34 Olimat pipe and 21 tooth pinion.... It hammers! 🤟😀

hell yeah! good comparison, the different way these vehicles handle was easy to see. man they both sound so good, the Vesla with 30dn power sounded like it hit warp speed a few times at the very top of the rev range!

Man it handles well and the stock motor seems reliable and quick enough for most people, I’m digging the Kraken more with every video 👍

Nice side by side comparison. I agree it all depends on the the terrain someone has available to them where they can drive it the most . Both 2wd and 4wd are fun but totally different driving experience. Thanks for sharing...

The Vesla is too expensive. If I were to get a Kraken I would get the Vekta .5 LSE Pro with the Dominator Pipe, but parts are seem hard to get. I would get the Rovan BLT RTR. Love to see these vehicles run.

Thanks for the video but I would choose the rovan buggy because it will handle much better on road and off road and it will jump and land very well do to the ground clearance. Also it has dual steering setup, and it seems to be tough, plus it has a much lower price, the vesla is a Baja 5b with a much higher price tag on it, and I had plenty of Baja 5b's and I still have one brand new, so these are some of the reasons the rovan buggy would be my choice.🙏😇🙏

I actually love them both but if I had to choose it would be the vesla.. purely for the look. If it only had 4 wheel drive it would be perfect. the D5 looked faster and drives fantastic also as you say pro's and Conn's. You do drive them so we'll I have to say as well. Let's be honest rovan didn't design anything, they just copied another manufacturers design and changed a thing are two. With that being said I would definitely get the rovan buggy over the V . Keep up the great work man.

I’ve never had a rear wheel drive 1/5 scale before. Really thinking about buying the Vesla.5 electric. What can you tell me about handling and capability. It is a lot of fun! You need spike tires in the rear for grass running. On the street the stock tires work good! 2wd is a blast!⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🏆
I think I’d go for the Rovan I would much rather have the 4 wheel drive platform, but from watching your videos that Kraken is a beast, but very expensive! Where about sin the US are you ? Being in the U.K. I have no idea where you might be 😂😂 great video again

Both are definitely cool but you can tell the handling difference for sure . Looks like the kraken pushes alot in turns and corner. Could be just a setup fix tho. 👍

Even though I have a 4wd kraken vekta.5 lol but I've modified my other 4wd to 2wd , they go a bit faster without the front drive but yeah bit harder to control but thats the challenge I like

How come those rovan MCD clones doesn't turn smoothly like the baja, or DDT7? it seems like with the rovan MCD clones while making a smooth 180 degree turn at the 90 degree mark it just turns much sharper and faster than your steering input imo. Thanks for the reply

hi. what exhaust you running on the D5 with taylor ?
i got the D5 but cant find any exhaust upgrades apart from barracuda or samba. currently on stock engine with different clutch spring and 20t pinion and it flies off the mark lost lot top end though with that pinion, my driving style i prefer the acceleration over top end speed anyway.

I have one. It’s actually quite disappointing. The engine goes in the garbage with the radio. But you pay top dollar for it.

Sadly I can't afford non of these massive trucks plus my neighbors are a bunch of cry babies with noise especially with the noise those gasser engines make Thunder.
