Eric Burdon was, and still is a wonderful singer. Wish I could’ve met him in the 60s, my dream.
I read that this tour was a hard one. Five guys with differing opinions reuniting after all those years. They play beautifully together! They were really good together, it’s a shame it didn’t work out. So glad Eric kept singing for us!

I have been watching Eric alot...he's a really musically innovative guy. Very special talent :)
I believe that was the last time the original Animals had performed together- such a shame that it garnished so little attention- during the MTV heydays- where all the focus was on the newer performers- amazing they were able to reunite at all for a short time- with so much tension in the band through the years- rest in peace- Hilton Valentine.
Love Eric Burdon and this song. Love the guy in the back who looks over his shoulder when Eric does. So much energy!

I remember this tune, I saw them in 1977 in Worc, MA on their reunion tour.
While this is from the 1983 tour, The Animals reunion tour in 1977 is very hard to find. Bootleg recording of '77 shows are rare.
If ya haven't yet, get this album with this song from the video ...called "ARK". It is really awesome. Everyone in the band sounds great.

Awesome post. Thank you! I bought the ARK album online and I've been listening to it for weeks now. It is a great piece of work, really. Eric and the band are at their peak, fusing rock, blues and surprisingly, punk. Eric's vocals on ARK will blow your mind. I've never heard anyone sing with such power.
Still one of my favourite groups. Tks for your most beautiful music Animals.... I like you.

This sounds like a four-on-the-floor rock version of Lionel Richie's 'Running With The Night'. Same key. Same descending chord pattern in the link going into each verse. And Chas Chandler with a Kramer bass. Very 80's, for sure.

He used a Rickenbacker in 1977 for their reunion tour and the album, he always had a good sound, the Ric sounded better than this one. I still love his EB-2 though.
Eric is the greatest live performer I have ever personally seen in concert, I wonder why they have him lip sync here!?!
Because its American Bandstand-they rarely had live performances. The only one I ever saw (live performance) is Johnny Rivers playing "Summer Rain" solo acoustic when he was hyping his "Help Me Rhonda" single
Probably because the studio version was a lot better than they could do live.
