This is dear to my heart. My uncle took me riding with him often since I was 3 years old. My seat was on the tank in front of him. It was the coolest thing ever getting to hold on to the bars as he cruised me around town. He had some kind of KX dirt bike before he got this beauty I also got a lot of rides on but I don't remember much of them because I was younger than 3. It started my life long love of motorcycles.
I have a 1981 KZ1100A and a1996 KZ100OP that i turned into the Vetter bike and a 1979 KZ1000 MKII. They are great bikes and everywhere I go, i tend to still the show! Great video!
Great video! I remember when those were new. Hard to watch you ride away with no helmet, no jacket, and no gloves . All three of those things have saved me very significant recovery time spread out among different crashes. Remember how many cars are being driven by people on cell phones, and take care of yourself. Thanks for a great trip down memory lane!
Parker St onge - yeah he seems like a cool guy and cool bunch, i hope no1 takes that comment wrong it was all in good fun. And it should b taken as a compliment really... both are badass. Its always cool to see someone protect motorcycle history like this crew.
I had one of these and man I loved it. My first bike and I rode it so much I took it from 7000 miles to 14000 miles in over a year of riding. I miss it. Gonna buy another one
You are the first man I've seen on UA-cam that knows how to downshift a motorcycle. Crack that throttle get the RPMs up to match the rear wheel. you would be surprised at the people that don't know how to do. Thank you for the video I had a 1980 LTD. It was the blue one that I had it painted black with a red metallic. I miss that bike.
I still keep coming back to this video to hear how my bike that I loved so much, sounded. I may contact you guys to buy another one day once I got the money. Things are tight now of course. God bless man
I've had my KZ-750 since new in 1981 and still love the bike ,it looks so out of place in my bike collection of all Harleys and Buells until the smart mouths ride the bike ,my neighbor rides a 103 ci twin cam Fatboy and he fell in love with my KZ ,these were the original super bikes .
My stepfather had a 79 KZ LTD 1000 punched to 1150 with a Yoshmira 4 into 1 that bike tormented the streets of my town when I was growing up god I loved that bike!
Wow! What a trip dwn memory lane! I had the baby brother to that bike. Whn I was a kid I bought an '82 440 Kawasaki LTD brand new off show room floor for $1200. My older brother had the 500 LTD. I later traded it for an '82 V45 Honda magna, ah the memories.
Pretty good timing for me to come across this vid. I've been eyeing a Z1100 here in South Africa with reasonably low kms for R25k (not sure what that is in dollars and all the rest). Very clean 1982 shafty. It's older than me by 4 years but it's a thing of beauty! Always been obsessed with the z1100 and z1300. Would be a nice upgrade from a mid 80's GS850G I had.
Bikes like this make me wish I got into bikes instead of cars at an early age. Maybe it’s not to late. I hear a 500cc bike is a good power level for a beginner on two wheels.
My buddy had the same one and let it rott in a apartment parking lot ugggggg.i went back to the parking lot and it was gone.id say it was there for 12 _13 years....KZs are one of the best bikes in the world
if you think about it.its really hard to go wrong with any 80s japanese bikes.unless your really careless.if there still in good shape, they allready stood the test of time.& keep on going.
Again, that is exactly 💯 just like my Kawasaki, yours is in better condition. Wish I could bring my bike up from Texas and have you restore it. Have a nice day, thanks for the great video.
Between my stepfather and his bike and the one Goose drives on "Mad Max" These bikes will always in my eyes be retarded fast and badass even if they wasn't the fastest
Did I hear him right, there's a 2018 replica of the bike that he's on? I can't find anything about it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
I own a 45 year old 75’ Z1b. I will not be selling it till I’m at least 85 years of age, maybe then 😎. I’ve told my kids should anything happen to me, what the real value of a Z1b’s worth is so they won’t get taken for a ride. I can guarantee that it still turns heads every where I go. Definitely more so than my Sportbike.
When was like 14 in 87 a buddy of my parents asked me to help go get a motorcycle tire on his kz 1100 ltd with a sissy bar so i cud hold the tire, when we got to honda dealer he decided best way for my skinny ass was to put it around my waist and sissy bar! and he had to run it thru the gears wide open from every stop...(he did that all the way to the dealership too) that return trip was the most terrifying ride... Only tiny consolation was he was very experienced rider but it was still a scary unsettling ride to have that tire around me and the back rest, especially at a fast pace, NO way id ever do it again (not that i cud remotely fit anymore!) Cool bike btw.
Thanks for your concern brother I'm usually just riding around the parking lot or up and down the street when I go for a real rip I wear the helmet usually sometimes I just want to be free
I bought mine ( KZ1000 LDT 2nd hand Mint condition from a friend maybe 1984 0r 85 for 1800.00, He sold it because he got married and had a baby. Really was a great bike. Sold it in the mid nineties for the same price. Wish I had kept it. Screamer
I bought mine new off the showroom floor. $4,300. I was 20. Still have the payment booklet. Got busted for doing over 130 MPH on Interstate 77 in Ohio. Three speeding tickets in 3 months = suspended license for six months :) Had to buy a Harley Wide Glide to keep from going so fast. Sold the LTD to my brother, but should have kept it.
My one critique about the bike would be the frame could use a couple more MMs in diameter and or wall thickness of the tubes to stiffen it up....I always thought it was like a 1000 engine on a 750 frame.
I modified the baffle on mine back in the day. Made an enormous difference in sound quality and a slight increase in power. No baffle was too loud , but a little more free-flowing exhaust made the most beautiful sound.
That sound brings me back Summer of 94 Running her ProStock Set her at 6 wait for the green drop the clutch push the button through the gears O YEAH HOLD THE F@#K ON😳
I used to have a 1980 KZ1000G "Z-1 Classic", the first fuel injected production bike. Bought it in 1983 with less than 2,000 miles. Had a chrome Kerker 4 into 1 system on it. Sure wish I would've kept it, and would love to see what it would be valued at today.
Isn't that bike the basis of the CHiPs bikes? These beastly bikes have probably ran down and caught 280z's, Firebirds, Mustangs, Chargers by the thousands. No way can an emissions choked 84 Camaro run off and leave a Kawasaki 1000. They were used in other states and countries as police bikes as well.
Sorry, but that is not a KZ. That is a LTD. A KZ has a bigger tank, lower bars, 18 in. rear wheel and has the same camshafts as a GPZ1100. LTD or CSR has more low end grunt, but not as much power as a KZ.
This is dear to my heart. My uncle took me riding with him often since I was 3 years old. My seat was on the tank in front of him. This is my favorite Kz1000 LTD video of all times. What a GEM!!!😍
I have a 1981 KZ1100A and a1996 KZ100OP that i turned into the Vetter bike and a 1979 KZ1000 MKII. They are great bikes and everywhere I go, i tend to still the show! Great video!
Vetter was it back in the day.....
That Kerker pipe rips!!! Well Nicely done.
I'd take a kz 1000 over a newer zx10 and zx14 all day
@@phoenixarizona8441 I would too, another badass old bike is the CBX 6 cyl Honda, what a sound
Did both Glen Danzig and Wolverine have an older half brother?
hes a fucken boss for sure..
Parker St onge - yeah he seems like a cool guy and cool bunch, i hope no1 takes that comment wrong it was all in good fun. And it should b taken as a compliment really... both are badass. Its always cool to see someone protect motorcycle history like this crew.
Badass classic bike in mint condition
Buddy Reperton.
@@ronaldtartaglia4459 that's a good one. 😎
I had one of these and man I loved it. My first bike and I rode it so much I took it from 7000 miles to 14000 miles in over a year of riding. I miss it. Gonna buy another one
Only to 14000 miles !!! Man that's little distance !
I took my Yamaha 125cc from 6000 to 100 000 miles in six years of riding 💪😉
Hope you have a deep pocket brother cause these bikes are pricey now.good luck and be safe brother!

I managed to get my hands on a this same bike. 82 kz1000 ltd. only 5,808 original miles! Going to install my new kerker exhaust shortly.
Yup me to,,there nothing like the sound of a inline 4
my brother has a 78 model, been in the barn since the late 80's
I've had my KZ-750 since new in 1981 and still love the bike ,it looks so out of place in my bike collection of all Harleys and Buells until the smart mouths ride the bike ,my neighbor rides a 103 ci twin cam Fatboy and he fell in love with my KZ ,these were the original super bikes .

When you hear and ride these old motorcycles, you feel like a man. THE SOUND, THE SOUND is like you going in to a war. Good video ;)

Aftermarket K& N open element air filters and a Kerker pipe!! Perfect 👌
My father rode a KZ1000 like this. Thanks for showing the bike guys.
Weapon of choice 👍🏼💕
Definitely chasing one of these. Not too many in good condition here in soggy Ireland! Great bike and great review. Thanks.
Sweet bike! Always wanted one.
I had one identical to that only a jardine exhaust. Got me in alot of trouble in my early 20's.
Beautiful bike!
I got into plenty of trouble too on mine. It's a magnet for Police

I wonder how many times I’ve watched this video????✌🏻😃👍🏻
It's what I've been looking for thanks
Beautiful bike, I'm only a couple years too late. Just curious, how much did it sell for on Ebay?

Beautiful bike bro I also like honda 1980s cb1000 custom with the 4 original pipes
Kerker. Sound all of its own huh?
Love it and the performance.
Have one 😀 since 1981 over 100.000 km without an issue 👍
Unfortunately haven’t ridden it for 4 years
if you think about it.its really hard to go wrong with any 80s japanese bikes.unless your really careless.if there still in good shape, they allready stood the test of time.& keep on going.
what an absolutely gorgeous bike
Nice bike , early kwakas sound and go awesome
I had the coffin shape tank her in Australia. Damn fine bike back in the early eightys

What years did they produce the CSR1000? I had one when I was 19 and am trying to figure out which year model I had. Thanks.
I had one and got it up to 150mph. Bad ass bikes.
I owned one of these bikes... smooth riding bike with power to spare.
Piece of art!
Is that a 4 in 1 Kerker exhaust?
Did I hear him right, there's a 2018 replica of the bike that he's on? I can't find anything about it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
love it.
just about to buy one of these here in Austria :)

Is this unit sold by now
I love that. What a beast.
I think this is the model they used a lot for the first Mad Max movie. Awesome movie btw, made great by the bikes and cars.
I have a 82 kz750, I’m thinking about customizing it...I have a 4 into 1 jerker on it already but I might stretch her a little...

Hi guys....you just sales clasics bikes? Thks

That is my bike, exactly! Wish I was there, with my bike.
Time capsule 💊 investment ...I love 💕 those sale pitches 👍🏼
From Ken
U gotta if u want to sell that classic 👍🏼
kerker headers sound so much better with a baffle taken out
I modified the baffle on mine back in the day. Made an enormous difference in sound quality and a slight increase in power. No baffle was too loud , but a little more free-flowing exhaust made the most beautiful sound.
Lovely bike broo....🥰🤩😍
logan?
Why do all the 70's and 80's bikes look so cool? Kinda like music from that era. The new stuff has no character.
I had a '80 750LTD, but it didn't take me long to wish I'd bought the 1000.
IMO Gen1 is the best, things just slowly devolved from there. Instead of a muscle bike it slow evolved into a heavier slower cruiser.
Beautiful bike.
I like the z1
ya que tenes tantas motos viejo regalame una que no tengo
That sound brings me back
Summer of 94
Running her ProStock

Not so,It’s still advertised & called a kz1000-B1-2-3-4 (depending on model yr) LTD by Kawasaki!

Daddy want ... That kerker though 😁
