    Always get the 20 pound set up. Great for power down 5 days on low also much cheaper on gas. Yes I know I use them in winter 7 days a week . For last 6 yrs. Only broke 1 lol parked my truck on it .use 2 they last a long time filter needed heck no had nothing but issues using filter . Stoped using them fine for 5 yrs now no more moisture in lines. Get 2 little buddy heat 2 zones pay a hair more but you don't need to run on high and balance heat I put 1 I front of house and 1 in back of house 5 bedroom drafty house it stays 70 71 degrees. Cheeper than oil lol that's what got me started on these heaters. Hope it helps ps 2 on low 7 days a week runs me 90 a month. . oil 300 plus a month great when power goes out peace people.

      Thanks faster things for your insight on using two of them to heat your house using the 20 pound tanks. Good info to know and YES electric heat can add up fast.

    That is awesome...does this heater work well , for indoors, during a power outage ?
    how many days is 81 hours ? (3 days = 72hrs + 9 hrs)
    do you have any review videos on the new Omni directional Mr Heater FLEX ??
    thanks for your video

    • @Z23go

      Hi Kanzee! Yes this would be great for indoors for a power outage. That is actually one of the reasons I bought this, so I can heat the shop and bring it in the house during a power outage. Yes, on Low it will usually go for a little over 3 days straight. Depending on how big of room you are trying to heat you may have to run it on Medium or High. Medium is 1-1/2 day burn time and High is nearly a day, 18 hours. Those run times vary a little depending on how full the propane tank is and what the temperature is.
      I have not had the chance to review the Omni directional Mr. Heater Flex. I bought the Big Buddy because I wanted it to direct all the heat in one direction, where I could point it toward me in the shop. If you are trying to heat a room in a power outage the omni directional might be nice where it is heating in three directions vs the one where several people could gather around it. Thank for commenting and watching!

    Today is 12-24-22. I am using my Mr. Buddy heater. When I changed the canister there was some ice on it. Is that normal ? The house was warm. I've used it before without that problem.

    • @CivMicheals
      @CivMicheals Рік тому

      Yes it's normal. When it's used, it condensates the compressed air put in it when it's filled if I'm correct.

    why doesnt the 20 lb tank provide 10 times the time that 2 x 1 lb cylinders provide? Shouldn't it provide 28 hours of run time on high?

    • @Z23go
      @Z23go  2 роки тому

      Hi ChrisandAnna. That is a great question and I've been searching for the answer but have not been able to find it. Those run time numbers were pulled from the Mr. Heater manual. I contacted the Mr. Heater company and asked them and the technician didn't know either. There is no reference on the internet either. A possible GUESS is that with the taller 20 lb tank there is more liquid propane left in the bottom of the tank and there is not enough pressure for it to reach the valve at the top, compared to the shorter bottle?? That is a complete guess though. Sorry I can't answer it, but good job spotting the difference.
      All run times are approximates because they vary with the temperature, where the hotter it is the more the propane expands and you get longer run times.

      Those run times from the buddy heater Box are False. I'm running a (fully) filled 20lb. tank. Monitoring with a timer. And it looks like it's only going to get about 76 hours run time on (low) , Trying to subsidize my fuel oil usage, But even 76 hours at $20 a refill is way cheaper than fuel oil

    A one pound propane bottle plus tax sells for around $5 at Walmart. A twenty pound BBQ tank refill plus tax costs about $20 at Walmart. DO THE MATH. The SMALLER, one pound, green bottles are TWENTY TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE PER BTU!

    • @Z23go
      @Z23go  2 роки тому

      The twenty pound tank is definitely the cheaper way to go. Little one pounders are lighter and more portable but you do pay extra for it.

      @@Z23go Actually, I have noticed videos that apparently demonstrate how to refill a 1lb bottle from a 20lb tank. This requires some kind of special fitting and I'll bet you can't put a whole pound back in the small bottle doing it this way.

      @Z23go  2 роки тому

      @@tribulationprepper787 I've seen those and actually bought one but I couldn't get it to work. Wondering if the brand of one pound bottles I use have a check valve that may not let them be refilled?

    Not as common but they do have 5# 11# 22#

    • @Z23go
      @Z23go  2 роки тому

      Yes, I don't have any that size but a 5# or 11# would be handy. Those 20# tanks get heavy fast where having something half that size would be nice to still get a long burn time with a lighter tank.

      @@Z23go they are nice to have. You can carry them in a 5 gal bucket the 5# tank you can even put the bucket lid on. If you want to get fancy you can drill hole in bucket to run hose out and leave it outside tent.

    Ok first its propane it doesnt have a sulfer or rotten egg smell thats natural gas that has a chemical added to it for safety . P.s you should have known that before making a video on propane and propane heaters.

    • @gettinlost7954
      @gettinlost7954 9 місяців тому +1

      Not true... "Propane manufacturers intentionally add Ethyl Mercaptan to propane specifically to produce the smell of rotten eggs. This is so the customer will become alerted to any gas leaks."

      @Jenny.Anderson76 Propane is scented just as natural gas is. Usually with ethyl mercaptan. He knew that before making the video.

      Lol, YOU should have known that ethyl mercaptan is added to propane before posting your snarky comment.
