I finally got to hands on an SR5 in Edmonton. The fit and finish is exceptional. Again no fog lights or openable back window seem like a little cheapskate from @toyotacanada for the SR5 Trim level.
I think the SR5 is a great blank canvas in a way. People who are going to modify it extensively might appreciate not having to remove lights, but just outfitting new ones. I had a previous gen SR5 and I definitely like this one much more.
That's right, the Canadian SR5 doesn't get the fog lights or sliding rear window, however there are some upgraded compared to an American SR. The US gets leaf springs in the rear, where as the Canadian Tacoma's are all coils throughout, the US has the option of an XTRA Cab variant where as Canada only gets double cab, and the States have the option of 4x4 or rear wheel drive as well, where as Canada gets exclusively 4x4 Models.
That's quite a bit of extras! I still think that the truck would be worth it in the long run. Unless you require some of the features like crawl control or a locking differential.
This is the only in depth base model Canadian SR5 video.
3 min mark needs a short
Thanks so much for the comment! What would you like to see specifically?

I bet you were expecting a soft drop-down tail gate there 😂
Absolutely! As you can tell I was shocked!

Canadian SR5 doesn’t get fog lights or a sliding rear window?? So it’s really an American SR…

Canada gets screwed with the options
Unfortunately, here in St. Louis, the SR5’s are coming in with 10K worth of options , that’s Trd territory.
