Being autistic for me is so weird because randomly I'll get the urge to do *something*. Not something specific, just *something*. About 1 and a half months ago I got that urge and now I have a 5 week-long streak of taking German lessons on Duolingo and it is showing no signs of stopping. It's actually getting worse!
Irgendetwas stimmt nicht mit mir. I'm gonna be honest I had never seen "irgendetwas" or "stimmt" before so I looked them both up so that I could make a sentence. Irgendetwas means "anything", stimmt means "is correct", nicht is "not", mit is "with", and mir is "me". I'm fairly certain that "stimmt nicht" just means "not correct" and irgendetwas I'm pretty sure can also mean "something" based on context. The statement *should* roughly translate to "something is wrong with me" however a more direct translation would be closer to "something is not correct with me". Etwas is a word that directly translates to "something", but all of the uses of it I have seen are referring to something about someone or just an undefined object (for example I have seen it in the context of "I saw something" which in German would be "Ich habe etwas gesehen") and as such I don't believe that it would be the right word. I used Google Translate just to triple check and it agreed, but I really don't know. Why did I do all of this research to make a rather simple statement? I could have said it in English, and it would have been so much easier, but instead I had to teach myself new words which I am likely not going to see in my lessons for months. Am I insane?
