    ITO is quick and hit with accuracy. I don't care if you have the best rubbers, if you don't practice and get use to it, that best rubbers are useless. In ping pong, it's all about how well you read your opponent, quick respond or fast reflexes, and hit with accuracy. ITO got it all and she proven to be The Princess of Table Tennis. Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen are not easy to beat, they are still the best but make too much mistake when playing with ITO, So bow down to the new Princess. I know, it's hard to accept that the world champions are losing to the kid, and ITO proved that anything is possible . May be they both think ITO is just a kid so they under estimated her quickness.

      Yes I bet China will be studying her like Hirano Miu Gate in 2017, a lot of Reflection letters will be written by ding and Zhu, but I think “quickness” can not be studied!

      That is the advantage of being a young player in any sports. Young players are quicker and if you find one like ITO can hit hard with accuracy, then it's a matter of who will make the mistake first. CHINA will study her and start develop a robot that can shoot faster to train their players. As for ITO, her battle cry will be like "Somebody Stop Me!!!" and you can't take anything away from her.

    @dave valinty, I totally agreed with your analysis. Here's what Mima Ito says:
    A paradigm shift will occur from traditional Chinese type table tennis to new Mima's type table tennis. China table tennis will decline unless it shifts to a paradigm of Mima-type table tennis. And I think that it is not China's generation of Ms Zhu, Ms Ding and Ms Liu, but the same generation or the younger generation Chinese player who can accept this paradigm. It is useless unless you can not play just with speed, you can not use power alone, you can not just skill with technique, just spiritual power will fail, all of which must be well-balanced. I am afraid that this is probably a new paradigm change table tennis.
    美誠ちゃんによって、旧来の中国型卓球から新しい美誠型卓球へとパラダイムシフトが起きるでしょう。中国卓球は美誠型卓球のパラダイムに移行しない限り、衰退することになるでしょう。そしてこのパラダイムを受け入れることができるのは、朱さんや丁さんや劉さんの世代ではなく、美誠ちゃんと同世代またはもっと若い世代の中国選手であると思います。スピードだけでは駄目、パワーだけでも駄目、テクニックだけでも駄目、精神力だけでも駄目、そのすべてがバランスよく揃っていないと駄目なのです。多分これが新しくパラダイムチェンジした卓球である、と愚考します

    Lol, all the comments. Nothing much you can do when a short pimple player plays to the point of perfection like this. Short pimple is meant to punch the ball with little to no spin, which Ito did with great consistency here. when the punch is flowing, you just hope the player will make mistakes and lose confidence in their punch. That's all u can do

    Too much spin and not enough speed by the Chineese. Ito has hacked their style and now they need an urgent patch to close the vulnerability. If Ito keeps an ability to consistently catch their top spin in the highest point and put smash on it, CNT will have a long term problems with the Communist bosses ).

    • @aalokatmaa1606
      @aalokatmaa1606 6 років тому

      Nike Crean very well analyzed. Ito can’t defeat, if she meets an opponent who can mixed backspin and topspin coz her style of flat smash will be useless against heavy backspin placed properly.

    I played with short pips on my back hand for most of my table tennis life, joola "express ultra" 2.0... I switched to cheap sticky rubber and my level went up a notch, I am able to spin it and my serves are stronger I also think my control is a little sharper..."ask a pro anything"

    If you think ITO is fast by luck, look at this Guinness Record video when Mima was just 10 years old, she is so modest and earnest, even when she knew she beat Fukuhara's record, watch , ua-cam.com/video/5AdwrWRSxH4/v-deo.html

  • @nero6790

    Für sure? Ito is playing well. In the past, she often lost against chinese players. If she weren‘t extra class, the pimples wouldn‘t help her.

    • @flowinghands1147
      @flowinghands1147 6 років тому

      Now she can make shots that were impossible before she got pimples on her bat. It is the pimples that have allowed her to change her game and given her an advantage. I often play against people with long and short pimples. Long pimples tend to destroy your strokes, short pimples allow your opponent to flat hit and spin, making the ball almost impossible to dig up, for it scims off the table.

    In TT, smash > loop. Smash has higher degree of difficulty than loop does. But, loop is overrated and smash is underrated. Time to balance them!

    • @PCIMPOSSIBLE
      @PCIMPOSSIBLE 5 років тому

      @Born Just No, smash is flat hit. You don't intent to create friction (spin) on the ball. That's why smashes require pinpoint accuracy on timing (how early to hit), angle (of the paddle), and power (how hard to hit). In a match, nearly every player can loop, but not smash. We all know how low the margin of error is.

    • @PCIMPOSSIBLE
      @PCIMPOSSIBLE 5 років тому

      You’re probably referring to “rip”, which is a mixture of loop & smash. Speed, spin, or control is just a “property”. Loop, smash, rip, chop, or block etc is “stroke”. As I mentioned, not every stroke in TT has the same degree of difficulty or the margin of error.

    The ITTF had a chance to level the playing field by banning all pimple rubbers. In all other sports the contact surface is mostly the same. By having the same it is then down to skill. In table tennis pimpled rubbers do all sorts of different things to the ball, I know players who have no backhand and just use pimples to destroy the game of their opponent. Its basically cheating. When a top player uses pimples, it destroys any spin of the opponent and like in this match, very fast flat shots can be made at will with no concern for your opponents spin. It is time for the ITTF to ban all pimpled rubber and level the playing field. Without this rubber ITo would not have beaten Ding Ning.

    • @flowinghands1147

      @@cieloreyes2518 Well in tennis the strings of the rackets are all the same, so the spin etc. is more predictable. Ding ning is not a weak player my friend and it would seem you haven't experienced the frustration of playing an opponent with pimples otherwise you wouldn't make such a silly comment.

    • @ttsnap
      @ttsnap 6 років тому +19

      very childish opinion. long pips, short pips and normal rubbers all exist long times in table tennis history. of course they do have different strengths, but also different weaknesses. the same way you say that short pips should be banned and then mima ito had no chance, one could say that inverted rubbers should be banned and then of course ding ning would have no chance. for both sort of rubbers it takes certain skills and ability. if you don't respect them it is very bad sportmanship and won't help you understanding what it takes to overcome the anxiety playing against other styles. you should watch the interview with ding ning after her loss. she is already trying to figure out why she lost and how she can adopt while totally accepting ito's strong performance. you can learn from that mentality.

      inverted was a 50's invention, long-pips 60's.
      I would replace _all_ the variants with a simple flat 1mm of untreated uncolored air-dried latex sheet natural rubber. As in other racquet sports, a level playing field in which the skill(s) of the players dominates. Attackers would naturally choose the fastest blade available, choppers a slower design. That's all.
      I made such a racquet at one time. It was more spinny than pips-out, not really good for counterlooping, but useable; not hard to smash a loop with it. The natural tack of dried latex was quite sufficient for spin-reversal, within limits. The thing _hit_ like a bat out of heII. Jeez it was fast; I put it on a 3/8 inch plywood with a hard acrylic varnish.
      It was experimental, and not ITTF legal, of course. But it's what the ITTF should have mandated 50 years ago.
