This Cure fan (I own all their albums) loves this rendition of this song. To me, covers aren't about producing the exact copy of the original, but it is rather the artists interpretation of the original, with their own spin. By thinking this way, every cover is beautiful. Adele, to me, lends emotion and an intimate romantic feel to the original, and I rather like it.
I am also a die hard Cure fan. Bought all their albums in the 90's. I love this cover. Only she could do justice to this iconic Robert Smith vocals.

That's when one of the best songwriters of all time and a magical voice meet! Pure gold...I saw The Cure for the first time in the early nineties and Adele when she toured in Germany...I come from an alternative/punk background...amazing talented! Both
As someone who LOVES LOVES LOVES The Cure, I wasn't sure what to expect -- but it's HER take on the song, HER version -- it's not meant to sound LIKE the Cure. I thought she took it to a new level and I love it.

The Cure is awesome, its nice someone like Adele recognizes how good they are.
Of all Adele's songs this is undoubtedly my favourite. There are some songs that are sung by artists at a different level and this version of the cure song is one of them. You can feel the emotion and her voice is perfect.
I tink she captures the sadness and melancholy of the song perfektly in her ovn way.
She certainly does capture the feeling of the song!

this is actually really good. adele is one of the few singers of this current era of pop that i actually like and this is a damn fine cover. especially as i'm a big fan of the cure as i actually like this more than 311's cover as this took more risks with the arrangements and make it more of its own while being true to what the cure is doing.
The cure is so unique and trying to do it justice in adifferent version is hard as it is. Adele is a very talented singer and this version is beautiful.

This is a great version, it forced me to hear just how great the lyrics are. I think Robert's intricate & playful instrumentation really does grab my ear, maybe overshadows the lyrics a little. Love Adele's voice and LOVE Robert Smith's songs (& voice)!

How can anyone say this isn't good? Music is about interpretation, if you numbnuts just allow yourself to feel the mood she radiates through her version of the original you'll find that this is a lot more soulful.

Personally I think Blake Shelton has an amazing voice but I fucking HATE his music. (Love hearing him cover other people's stuff) because to me it is all very cliche and like the absolutely worst stereotype of country music (and I actually like country music, but not music that sounds like a parody and takes itself seriously). Blakes music to me is "feed me stupid on a spoon and I'll eat it." But yeah his talent, his voice and his eyes are on point.

I've been to many Cure concerts and heard this song at a few of them, love the song. Love Adele's rendition, she did her mom and probably Robert Smith proud!

I never really liked this song even though I like The Cure, but this cover... I just adore it. Adele always manages to capture a melancholy and romantic tragedy vibe to her songs and it works so well here.
