This is a great idea. Do you put some kind of covering on the ends to protect from dust & pests?

That’s freaking genius!!! To the hardware store I go in search of a larger sonotube for my big tree...and smaller ones for the small trees. If this works ( and it obviously does) I’m going to save soooo much space in the garage! 🎄

Is it hard to take back out of the tube?

This is a great idea, however it won't keep bugs and mice out of the tree. I store mine in the garage.

Yeah, I feel like it needs caps on the ends and some indication of what size tree fits best.

Very clever! Thank goodness I always do a real tree and I just haul it down to the rivers edge to aid the bank erosion and be a haven for wild-life...

I lead my tree up year round. Just put a white sheet on it then put in closet till next year. Or just leave out but don’t turn light on! Or make it into an Easter tree.

This idea prevents animals from getting in and dying. Don't ask. Husband just threw it in the trash bin.

Can you tell us what size tree yours was? what the height and approx circumference so we have an idea of how big of a sona tube we would need. my trees are 9' & 11' and pretty big around.

But I already have a box for it. It comes in a box that you can tape shut. Just wrap some shrink wrap around the sections and put it in. There’s even room for lights and extension cords. Why would I buy a tube with open ends, stuff it in there, and wrestle it out next year hoping nothing is alive in there? I guess if I didn’t have a box but… I bought a floor model this year and still found a box to fit it so I guess this hack is not for me. It just seems kinda… unnecessarily fussy?

Some boxes get destroyed.... some trees are acquired boxless 2nd hand from in laws, parents, charity shops, showroom displays etc.❤
