As someone with an autoimmune disorder, I too had to find a reading plan that allowed me grace. I hate the feeling of being behind in my reading. And my brain kept getting confused by the chronological Bible I was using. After praying, I finally landed on a book-by-book plan from the Navigators and put the excess back on the shelf for another year or to give to another person. This year my goal is to refuse to feel bad about spending time in the Word. Every minute with the Lord is good!
In case anyone wants to glance at the plan, it can be found here: www.navigators.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/navigators-book-at-a-time-bible-reading-plan.pdf
Girl, stay encouraged. I am following along with Heart Dive also. I am using a CSB regular format Bible. I will read the assignment first, then later in the day, or even the next day, I will watch her video and follow along. You do not need the same version Bible. You do not need a chronological Bible. All you need is a Bible that has 66 books in there 😂. Come on. We can be accountability partners.
To give yourself more grace - whatever translation you use, commit to reading at least 1 chapter and add a date to it. The date is a great encouragement when you come across this later on and see that you have spent time with God in that chapter. I do this with my one year Bible. And I don't stress myself if I miss a day because I know I am picking it back up and start there. God knows what we need, when we need it. Being tied to a particular plan while helpful should never be bondage. Leave room for the Lord to lead you. Even if that is more or less than you have "planned". His plan is always better. Thank you for posting this and being transparent. Such encouragement!! Blessings!
Thank you for really encouraging me to get myself back together. It's so easy to feel like you just can't pull it together to read the bible. I have been doing great but all of a sudden, I just couldn't pick up my bible. So, I have printed out this one-year reading plan, I'm a little behind but tonight I will catch up. Now for me, I can focus more at night when I read my bible but my goodness my 5-year-old makes it difficult LOL. Thanks again!!
You are most welcome 🤗 We go this! And Girl!!! One day I’m going to do a live with what my home sound like without me planning to record. lol currently my teenager son is playing basketball with my 5 year old son inside 🫣 and my 2 year old is trying to keep up. Literally smh I’m glad I have enough children to help keep them busy but the noise is on another level 😂
🎉Reading with the bible app is great. It was very confusing for me to follow someone on UA-cam who wasn't using my bible version. However, I think it is awesome that their are people who devote their channels to read God's word! Love you Char. Love the variety of your channels. 🎉❤
Yes this vlog is perfect for this morning. I keep saying that this next Bible I get will be my 'last one'. I think I've decided which two I'll use this year. I was thinking of doing Faith's Grace reading plan.
I highly recommend sticking with Heart Dive by Kanoe! I did the entire year with her in 2023 and it was great. This year I’m reading through a chronological life application Bible (reading all notes as well as the scripture) and catching the new Heart Dive videos as I feel like it, but they aren’t a priority.
You pointed out why I don't do well with illustrating Bibles. The images (to color or just too many decorations in the margins) are too distracting for me. I'd rather want just plain words. But I do understand why other people relate differently to the Word and their understanding/memory is enhanced with coloring and drawing.
Yes different translations use a different order for chronological reading for instance ESV Chronological reading is different from NKJV Chronological order and the same goes for many of Translations a lot of people use the ESV Chronological Reading plan with whatever Bible translation they choose to read from that way they get to read from there favorite translation and stay accountable but they use the ESV Chronological Plan and they jump around in their favorite translation
You taught me something so new!!!! I had no idea! I need to do more research. I must say so far I’m staying on track so the ESV order seems to be okay.
The sabbath can literally be any day you desire or what works best. I’m going to talk to my husband about it because I kind of want us to both do it. It seems like it would be easier if we did.
I was sick over the new year and just now getting better. So I didn't start a 365 day reading plan. Instead, I have the Grace plan from @howtofaithalife that has 95 skip days but still gets you through the Bible in one year. I'll make a video about it!
I’m sorry to hear you were sick! And please make a video about it! I recall her mentioning a plan a long time ago. It seem like something that may help me and others. Especially with life being so busy or unpredictable
I love how you encourage us all and how you share your struggles and how you seek God for a solution! You're going to accomplish your goal!!
Thank you 😊 God bless you 💜

I like the idea of a coloring Bible, but I'd hate to mess up coloring in it.
I make my plan work for me life at my house is always changing
Same here 💕

Can you take your sabbath on Friday? When I was on church staff we had Fridays and Saturdays off.
