My top lenses are pretty much like on here. 1...16mm 1.4 2...16-80 F4 3...Speedmaster 35mm .095 4...100mm F2.8 Minolta Macro with adapter 5...70-300 Fuji Zoom I also really like all the Viltrox lenses. I have all the Fuji versions and they for the price are just so good.
Thank you for validating my lens choices. I love the 16 - 80, 80, 16, 55-140, but also the 35 1.4 (especially with the xt4). I don't like shooting ultra wide so the 8-16 never interested me.
I love the 35mm f2. It was on sale for $299, what a bargain! Extremely sharp even at f2. It takes me back to shooting with my 1st 35 mm SLR (no D) where the kit lens was always a 50mm f1.8 or f 1.4.

It is highly recommended that you take a 300mm (35mm equiv). Which lens would you recommend for this, the 55-200 or the 100-400?
I've never used the 100-400, but I'm VERY happy with my 55-200. It is higher quality than you might think. I own the 16mm f1.4, 80 f2.8, 56 f1.2, and other Fuji prime lenses, and this is the only zoom I keep with me.

Question everything I totally agree. I briefly owned the 16-80 and took some controlled test shots alongside my 16-55. Not even a contest, even without pixel peeping. Contrast and color rendering is far superior on 16-55. I returned the 16-80 shortly thereafter.
I don't own the Fujinon XF16-80mm XF55-200mm or the XF200mm f2 but I have the rest covered including the XC lenses most used is my XF18-135mm but 2 of my favourite primes are both underdogs for most Fuji users 🙁 XF 18mm f2.0 for its Bokeh and compact size hood removed and the other is XF 60mm f2.4 great for close up and portraits. I still haven't found a poor Fujifilm Fujinon lens 😊
My favourite lens would be the 18-135mm. It's far from the best Fuji lens, but I use it more than 50% of my time. Especially when traveling it's glued to my X-T2.
50-140 - love, love, love, love, hate it. I have to shoot a lot of low light for a local theater group (as a favor) and wide open it is so damn great. then when I get anywhere where there will be more light, its the 55-200 - so much smaller and lighter.
Would you say that lens is good to capture indoor fast action sports - how fast it acquires and holds focus? Most places I'm at 640-1000+ shutter, f2.8-3.5, ISO from 3200-10k+ depending on gym. Thinking of getting xt4 & the 55-140mm but wonder how well it handles higher ISO.
@@KAR120C69 For inside and outside get 50-140 if not on budget. It is simply the better lens then 55-200.If you get TC-1.4 on the back side then you going 100- 290-ish mm f4 F.O.V with some slight corner softness.50-140 has faster AF, wider aperture, and superior build to 55-200.
@@burritobrosvideos8060 It is lighter and a bit shorter ,it is slower ,it has no any sealing, it's not constant aperture , it extend when zooming, has no collar so you can't just turn camera while on monopod, you can't add any TC 1.4 or 2.0 to increase the range and get constant f4 through the range and to put it simple it is not optically same lens as 50-140.
@@eagleeyephoto8715 the 50-140 is overrated. The tamron 70-180mm for sony is sharper, lighter, faster, and shorter than the fuji, as well as weather sealed. Fuji is about being smaller, lighter, and more affordable compared to full frame. The 55-200 is very sharp, light, and affordable. Its a very good alternative to the overpriced 50-140mm. If you need that lens, than you should just go with sony and buy the tamron, the fuji has no advantages.
Just changed my 16-80 for the 16-55 today ...paid 200 € difference.I think the 16-55 is better at 16 mm than the 16-80 and also at 50 mm ..I believe you blindly always except for this lens and cant understand why you think its better than the 16-55.. :-O

Get the 16-55 that's way better, plus the ibis will help the non ois lens. Check a bunch of reviews on the 16-85 f4, it's a good lens but there's no magic.
@@mrsusan893 The 16-55mm certainly is a beautiful lens but not suited to my needs due to the weight. I'm a hobbyist who hikes and travels a lot. I wouldn't want the weight of the 16-55mm around my neck all day, it would be wasted on me. Im more of a primes person myself so as i expand out from the 16/1.4 to the 23/2 and 35/2, I'll have the 16-80mm to cover a lot of bases in the meantime. It's also a lot cheaper. i think the 16-55mm is more suited to a pro who will get the range and quality out of it for weddings etc.
Finally! ... A guy who's on my side! :P .... I sold the 16-55 because the 16-80 were totally outshining it... YEEEES SIR! ... :D and also! super agreeing on the 16 1.4 part :D
May I ask why you don’t like the 18mm f2? I’m considering getting it because it’s wider, faster and it’s the second smallest Fuji lens I’m going to be paring this with an Xt30 so I want to stay as small as possible. Besides this I’m also considering the 16mm f2.8 and the 23 f2 which would you recommend? I’m looking for something a little bit wider but also versatile I want to be able to take the lens and camera with me everywhere and take pictures of many things and people I want to capture more memories.
I have the 16mm 1.4 but like you I wanted something smaller and more discreet so I got the 18mm off Amazon to try out and probably send back because it's got such a bad reputation but I've ended up keeping it and it's now my 2nd favourite lens after the 35 f1.4 for when I need to go a bit wider

Is there a site where I can find pictures taken with XF 80mm F/2.8 lens. I would like to see portraits. I tried flicker, went through the first five long pages, and found only a single picture, and it was taken at f/5.6. The rest of the pictures are of bugs and flowers... Unbelievable.....Flickr, such a dump..
I fail to understand people who favour extreme wide angle lenses over tele ones (or even mid-range ones, in the case of Fuji), even on APS-C sensor cameras. Why would one like to shoot with a lens makes most photos look like snapshots? That's not even to mention the distortion!

Only in extreme conditions. Get the 23 1.4...it is better in every way.
