I agree with everything you said. I've never had the honor of meeting Master Inosanto but I always felt a special connection to him after reading one of his books back in the 80's shortly after I had started training Kenpo. He mentioned that he started his martial arts training in Judo and then switched to Parker's Kenpo after having some joint injury. Since I had also started my martial arts journey with YMCA Judo and then found American Kenpo a few years later, I felt, perhaps naively, that I had some understanding and kinship with him. I always thought he was Bruce's best student, though in fairness I hadn't seen much video of Bruce's other students. When I recently saw the Smithsonian presentation Mr. Inosanto did on Kali/Escrima I was even more impressed. His technique just keeps getting better and better, and he has indeed aged like a fine wine, that only becomes more smooth and refined with time. May he live long and prosper.
Hello Sensei Jucknik. Mark I. Here. Just viewed your interview on Dan Inosanto. Yes , I have met him before. Twice in 1997 , once in 1998 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 & 2003. They were all seminars hosted via the Princeton Academy Of Martial Arts. Lo e this man, wealth of knowledge in the martial arts , & terrific human being. God bless you, him & this wonderful interview.
Thank you for this, probably the most inspiring tribute of Danny I’ve ever watched… One question: people rarely talk about Danny’s actual fighting ability -And just how good was he in his prime?
Funny how all this is just coming out now, after like 4 decades? Why didn't he just train with that guy instead of Bruce Lee then? Funny after decades of promoting Bruce, now it's somebody no one ever heard of? Something doesn't add up here. Maybe someone just told Dan to stop talking about Bruce Lee, because I have countless articles and interviews on Inosanto, and this other guy was NEVER mentioned, or even hinted at.
It was during the time when Inosanto was stationed in the military. A picture of this instructor can be found in one of Inosanto's books. I believe it was, "Absorb What is Useful," if I remember correctly.
Dan Inosanto would disrespect or mess with another martial artist in public by...of all things...blowing in the ear of another martial artist while he is talking! That NEVER happened. Weirdest made up story ever, and I am going to verify it as fake myself.
Hey Steve. Thanks for the comment. Did you every ask Mr. Inosanto? He was the one that told this to me. Give me a call if you want to discuss - 916-308-2606. At that time, he was a Parker Kenpo guy, and everyone was gunning for Bruce Lee. I have the utmost regard and respect for Danny. He is one of the top martial artists, teacher and students on the planet. He was the reason I was first introduced to the Filipino arts with Angel Cabales and Remy Presas in 1973. I have nothing but love and respect for him. Give me a call. Thanks, Bruce
Guro Inosanto has been my instructor since 2005. I have certifications under him. He is truly an amazing person, martial artist, and teacher.
did he ever speak to you about Bruce ...or he just does not anymore ?

Paul vunak said he was the fastest he ever saw or faced ...and said that he even worked with Bill wallace
Great question. I suspect he would have been a walking nightmare to fight
