From my upmost sincerity and as a Marine Corps veteran and a father of three … I just turned 50 and have heard Jim a few times over the years but always worked 16-19 hours a day until a terrible car accident and abandoned by everybody in my family about 7.5 yrs ago and recently started to watch on UA-cam Jim’s standup and got instantly hooked on his comedy which is the greatest, cleanest and most well rounded comedy of all time and not even Richard Pryor or Dave chapelle can compare to his versatility! Ty Jim you saved my life with your comedy and your kids and you talking about yours brought great memories and even tears in my darkest recent hours and ty
That doesn’t make sense. Jim Gaffigan is clean and is in a bunch of stuff. Even has his own show. He was in a few things that bombed and got a bad stink in the business. Same stuff almost ruined Dave Chapelle's career. Other than Dave Chapelle being a killer comedian, the Chapelle show undid a lot of the damage half baked put on Chapelle. Unfortunately Jim has not had that recovery moment with a huge hit; where producers are willing to place a lot of money on the line just for his name

And with his name he can probably command a fairly high premium doing the stand up comedy circuit, wouldn't you say? Probably an over 40 type crowd though.
I have laughed so hard the tears build up and run backwards into my eyes and even though it burns, Jim makes some of the burn back down to only a low 'Gottya' now wipe and laugh some more, LOL.
It takes far more comedic talent to not resort to using profanity during a comedy routine. I've never seen his standup before, he had me in tears and I think I even popped an abdominal muscle.
Damn he is as good as a young Robin Williams years ago, the energy, masterful storytelling ability, the impressions of stars and of people from his everyday life are mesmerizing. He appears to effortlessly switch from one character's voice and mannerisms to another's within the same sentence. Very entertaining, heartwarming and funny. I never knew he was this funny and this talented. and well, he is awesome !!
@Fucknuts I don't know how old you are, but I'm 59 & watched Robin Williams come into popularity & immediate success as a comedian at a time when no comedian around him could touch his brilliance, the speed of his brain, the insane ease with which he'd switch from one created character's voice to another or the high energy he put out his entire time onstage. All of it was insanely great to watch. Every comedian back then was in awe of his abilities. He got older (and tamer, as most of us do, sadly) and as he did he started doing many serious roles in movies & that may've contributed to him mellowing down from that incredible stage presence and energy of his younger performances..So maybe you never knew THAT Robin Williams and maybe that's why you think he sucked. But I guarantee you Jim Brewer would feel highly complimented that I , or anyone, compared him to a young R. W...Aaand I think at least 92% of those who ever watched R.W. perform when he was in his 20's through his 40's would strongly disagree with your opinion of R.W. (the other 7.3 % of the rest of them would call you a heretic and want you thus sentenced to be burned at the stake or something equally opinion intolerant...lol. ( DISCLAIMER: Now, notice the LOL AT THE END there... I'm just joking about that last part so all ye youtubers so don't lose your sh$t on me, I'm just kidding with him).

I'm 10 years older than him - He told a story on how he worked in a Sears and he called the manager of the paint department pretending to be Saddam Hussein and that he was going to blow up the paint department. They apparently had to clear the store for the manager called it in as a bomb scare. Funny thing is, I knew the Sears he was talking about (Hicksville NY, LI) I lived down there until 1973, and still have family that lives there. I totally understand the mentality of the Long Islanders that he mentions at the beginning of the show. He is certainly a FUNNY guy. One of my favorites!

The thought occurred to me while watching this, he is friggn hilarious. He could easily replace Jimmy Fallon or any other late night talk show host. His zany energy reminds me of a time when David Letterman was funny. Gooooo Goooat ma ma man!

Howard Stern started doing that and did so for a very long time, but he straightened himself after he went after Robin Williams on his show (Robin walked out) - and died not long afterwards. - That shook Stern up, and he has since changed his schtick back to his old days, and is funny again.

The whole bit about playing with your kids is true. My son who was 4 and daughter who was 9 at the time had a blow out. Me and my son was wrestling and my daughter came in the room wanted to play with us. So I grabbed her and picked her up and was going to pretend to slam her on the bed. She started screaming and crying. I put her down and said "What's the matter, you wanted to play with us?" She said "I want you to play what I want!" She stamped her foot and crossed her arms. While we are talking my son climbs his chair and jumps on her back. She screamed bloody murder and ran into her room. She told my wife that we weren't playing nice. I told my wife what we were doing when she came in the room and she said she wanted to play with us so I included her.
All I want to know is why can't I find any Goat Boy videos? I totally missed this in the 90's, had two daughters under 10 years of age at the time, never got a chance to watch any TV.

The reason Hollywood probably doesn't book him, it's because he's a "clean" comedian, that's what is so respectful & admirable about him.
