@@sempertard hey🙂 yes, the little tape roll, hangs 80cm over the breakout tip of the coil. At some peaks, the arcs reaching over that😁 Thanks for watching🙂
@@coreyworthington2797 yes thats absolutely fine🙂 at these high voltages betwen the secondary and primary, that will appear by wrong tuning or harmonic problems, the typical thin insulation would not play much in that game anyway😄
@taotao401 sorry i dont get what you meaning with that. My english understanding is not that good, and my translator gives no understandable Information for me😅
Why don't you try leaving some points uncovered on each coil, making sure there is no contact between one and the other so you can attach a crocodile connector to tune it more easily?
@@antoniocannizzaro7032 im actually dont want to have croc. connections on the primary, because there are some really high peak currents going on. It would kind of work anyway for sure. But i have also the problem, when i found a right Spot, that is maybe somewhere at 20 turns, my coupling would be not high enought, and in that case i have to rewind the primary anyway

👋🛸👍 awesome project
@@Ulysses-t2c oh yeah it really is! It makes so fun to experiment on that😀
You could theoretically try to put a some alumium foil on the ceiling to draw the arcs to them
@janno288
Yeah i thought about that too.
But at the most cases, experienced that the arcs dont really attracted by direct earth potential.
I don't know much about VTTCs, only solid state, but this is neat to watch.
@@benjaminlockhart99 thanks for that nice feedback😇🙌

Awesome Profile Picture by the way!😃
Hi Marv. At time 22:15, what arc length are you achieving? Did you say 80cm? If so, that is incredible. Thanks!

I'm running an uninsulated/bare wire primary with decent results.

You can tell that the arcs are fractals so its lenght is infinite
