    Thank you so much for these videos! I have a GU-5B that I will use and my next step is to wind the primary and secondary coils.

      Yeah the GU-5B is an absolute Monster tube!😃 you can reach arcs over 1 Meter long at ease, when you have a nice and strong setup! i wish i can find one here in germany!

    This is a wicked VTTC! Thanks for the videos man, I’m working on my second VTTC at the moment using a CV1883 tetrode and these videos have been really helpful!!

      @@_musicismath hey nice to hear that! Thats a really nice feedback😇🙌 uuh nice tube! Had to Google it for a second, because i think i never heard from it. 500w anode dissipation is good! Might be a littlebit more powerful than a gu81m🙂

    You dont have to short out your primary capacior since it will automatically discharge itself with the coil

    I never had the problem with having heatshink on the top of the coil causing arcover. if you dont have sharp points under the heatshink there is no arcover really. at least thats my experience.

      I didnt had any problems with that too, because i never tried it.
      But i read much about, that when people doing tapping points on their coils, sometimes it will arcover from there to the secondary.
      The solderconnections are always a different shape like just a cable, so in this case i just dont want to risk it, because the possibility is there.

    • @janno288
      @janno288 16 днів тому

      @@marvswelt2587 the possibility is therr that is true, but arcovet is kind of rare.
      For me arcover is even less a problem due to having a cold tank circuit, only AC on it and not DC voltage on it. So if it arcs over it will just stop itself really.
      But covering your secondary with 1 layer of clear tape isnt a bad idea.
      If you keep the solder connection smooth you wont have a problem

      @janno288 i prefer some layers of clear coating on my secondarys.
      At one of my secondarys i have no coating and had also no problems with arcing. But yeah, a littlebit of protection for the secondary is always a good idea.
