- A remarkable initiative, 'Project Cheetah', took off in 2022 with a goal to bring back extinct cheetah population. They brought in twenty cheetahs from Namibia and South Africa, which sparked debates worldwide. A glimmer of hope shone when 'Siyaya', a cheetah, gave birth to four cubs in March. Sadly, things took a downturn as nine cheetahs passed away, raising serious concerns. I lived in South Africa for almost a decade.... its heaven to wild ( although porching is prevalent). Cheetahs are gorgoeous animals in every way. I am praying for this project to be a success ❤

Letting innocent animals to die in the name of trail and reviving the species isn't right in any way. It's not about a particular country only, it's about the globe. We've to protect our nature in a global level. But if we are doing good for our nation then also we have to be accountable for every consequence. Our govt and officials have to understand that sirf cheetah ko country me vapas le ane se nhi hoga , unki proper care bhi krni hogi. Hope we'll keep this gorgeous animal in our land safely.

Great video. You showed naturalist Valmik Thapar at 1:02. I didn't watch this interview, but watched another one he had given to Sarah Jacob at NDTV when these cheetahs were brought to India. He had mentioned various reasons why it was a bad idea. A key reason among them was African cheetahs need African Savanaah type grasslands, which have vast open grassland type spaces. Kuno national park with it's forest was never a suitable habitat.
Indeed this whole thing was a giant PR exercise and these cheetahs are paying with their lives.
I like to study about the wildlife. And I just loved the way you explained the behavior of cheetahs
