Problem with those batteries is that they don't have the added bonus of a low center of mass, which really helps a lot more with racing

Yeah, the review is great but moving a display model around is not exactly a "first drive" in a 2000hp hypercar.
You do realize that this is an early and limited access viewing of a new supercar. You can't just take it for a spin and open it up. You do what they allow you to and nothing more.
And why playing Music when you start driving the car? Does it sounds so bad?
Check just before the 1 minute mark, if it was meant to be a video just admiring the design, even for that reason this location ain't the best choice in anyway.

I'm not even joking when I say that someone from my extended family (my father's cousin's son) helped design this amazing machine. Apparently there is not a single panel on this car that he wasn't involved in!

This is the most beautiful car. If I had the Money, I‘d buy it instantly. Two little things I don’t like: the doors take so long to open up and you can only do it by key and I don’t like the cameras sticking out the side of the car. Otherwise, it is perfect❤️🔥
Where would you put a side view camera? The wheel well won't work because of rain or puddle spray off the tire, and the window lip is way too small. I'd love suggestions.
I think the camera is way too big and spoils the lines of the car too, but this is what they went with.
Smart phones all over the world have much smaller phones with great clarity, so why so big, is my question for them.

@@dionjeremy1711 Tesla roadster is only $250K that can do dash to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds with max speed of 250mph. Whereas this Lotus although really a beautiful exotic car costs 10X of that Tesla. I would rather buy Tesla and spend the other $2million on purchasing a mansion or use the cash on other more meaningful things. I will support Elon coz I want to see him succeed in sending humans to Mars.
Now that Lotus, Rimac and Pininfarina have brought out their electric hypercars we're just waiting for the Tesla Roadster which despite being unveiled first is still miles from production
By the time the roadster actually hits the roads the other brands will be unveiling their 2nd generation ev hypers.
They aren't ever going to make the roadsters. It will be way too crappy to charge enough to make money. Teslas are so shitty on the inside, so I can't imagine someone paying more than $150k for one. They've peaked at the s type and it's not a very high peak. They feel like a $13k Suzuki swift on the inside. So they won't be able to make the roadster and charge what they need to, to turn a profit. Musk thought it was a good idea, but the board will never allow it now that he's out of Tesla's way.

My first Lotus was the Lotus S1 after watching a James Bond and had them ever since. Now sadly I can’t get in them now but I still have a passion for them. What fascinates me most about the design of this car is the system of air ducts that (in my opinion) both in the front, but especially in the rear, generate inner flows that reduce the drag of the whole body. It's like having a smaller cross section. Moreover, the rear ducts drive the air flow towards the tail in order to reduce turbulences. This layout also improves the whole styling, because the more you watch the car all around, the more you get surprised by the evolution of the surfaces.

AmericanRace4me: Incorrect. An engine is not required to calculate horsepower.
@AmericanRace4me wrong its not just adding batteries, the electric motor also has to be able to handle the amount of power being pushed to it, and kilowatts can be converted to horsepower. though an electric motor is primarily torque, a transmission/ use of gear reduction can be used to achieve higher speeds at a lower cast on the motor. As for your calculation of "horsepower" horsepower is torque multiplied by your angular velocity, which is why it can be applied to an electric motor as it rotates about an axis, same thing as to why a small single or 3 phase motor is displayed as having XX hp.

Beautiful Car, Great Features, and great to see such powerful cars coming out without fuel emissions as the government's gets more strict to eliminate greenhouse gasses.. With such power, would be interesting to see it compare head on against the Tesler Roadster 2020 that accelerates 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. I noticed minor similarities to the front side from my own personal view with the Ferrari Enzo & Ferrari La Ferrari (F70) hybrid. Well done lotus and great to see something new out after a long time, as you said SCB - there back! ;)

A lot of sports cars do this to save weight, among installing other manual controls, such as wheel adjustment.
