Great video. A little more about advanced combat. Destruction skills are also used to damaged or cut off body parts of a boss. For example, there is a turtle like raid boss that you need to destroy its shell asap or it has 90% damage reduction. The is another skill property called impairment which is used to drain the stagger bar and stun the boss much faster. They are also essential in some bosses when you need to impair them in a few sec. For example, there is a Phoenix like raid boss who attempts to evolve itself once every 90s which if successful will make the fight tremendously harder. Players need to use impairment skills to stagger it before it finishes evolving

Two questions for anyone who might know. The island you get, is that account wide? I mean do you only have to level and work on one island for all your characters? Second when he mentioned making another character to help gather end game mats from raids and such do you have to make the same class or are the mats generic and I can play something new? After playing some on the KR server then the NA beta, I'm planning on going Striker main(Most fun), GL/Paladin/Bard/Painter sub(Easy raid access), Demonic/Wardancer/Lancer 2nd sub(Stress free solo dungeons). Leave a few slots for future content.
This game is ADDICTING...I havent really played much of anything besides Lost Ark for almost two months now. I'm having a blast trying to get to endgame and there is so many things to do that I never get bored! I'm sure I will suffer burnout at some point but as of now? I'm dedicated!
It honestly looks like LA took the best parts from all the MMOs out there and blended them together and perfected them. The combat system has me really excited and then the ease of switching through skill loadouts is small but a nice QoL improvement compared to other games. I think imma give the Paladin a go once the game drops. Definitely gonna be wasting my life away on this one 😭😭
it also took some of the worst parts like daily gated pve content. and before you say anything, pvp is unlimited and there's no daily limit to rewards by pvp. you want to do chaos dungeon and get upgrade mats? 1 run per day, and previously it was 3. not only you get less runs, you also get less reward
@@Quickblades67 if you want to do pve you will need alts so you can make a Martial Artist, a Gunslinger, and a Mage. chaos dungeons that give upgrade mats decreased the daily runs from 3 to 1 so you get less rewards, so you will need alts to counter this change they did.

have to say best horizontal content is in gw2. you make a legendary weapon, piece of gear and it will be META even in 5 years, not like other games where u trow your legendary gear in 3-6 months after a new update comes.

Something is not quite clear to me: When I make my first character, should that be the main? But if I notice with my first alt character that I enjoy it more, can't that be my new main?
what i've read, it does not matter if u swap ur "main" even after lvl 50, ur main becomes ur main when you start to funnel items from other characters to one character thats when it comes ur real main.
Might be a bit late , or iust in time. MMO's in general dont, at least in my opinion dont have hard mains. You will be able to swap to different characters whenever you like. Alts ( side characters) are very usefull to help you funnel materials into different characters you might play. What i believe he's talking about in the video is the type/class that your charcters is able to play. Every class will have subclasses and those are locked in per class Just try out a bunch and see what you like

Not quite. There are additional skill point potions you can collect, as well as other ways to get skill point potions. Most of those are account wide because they tie into collectible systems.

Is this game too easy? i played forawhile and i came from Path of exile endgame content but in tht game i die sometimes if i don't have proper 1 hit crowd control.. here i felt i click i kill i roam. Is this same for you or Is there a slider to increase difficulty ~
Depending where you are mate na west is good enough ping to play. Starting off at 150ms-180ms you won't be too upset. It's if you ever got to play under 30 ping that 150+ would feel terrible

How do Genderlocked character customization work? I want to play gunslinger but do I have to customize the male gunner first and then they give me a random female character?
There are two different subclasses based on the gender for the Gunner. The Gunslinger (Better with the sniper) is the female version. The Deadeye (better with the shotgun) is the male version. Other classes going forward will have male/female counterparts released.
Oh man I dunno this game is gonna scare me because I haven't been thus excited over a game in many years. I mean I have Elden Ring and Dying Light 2 in Febuary as well, but this game omg. Combat animations are insane. Honestly I don't see me playing any other mmo after seeing this. This is exactly what I like in mmos.
two things people should know: 1. game is really hard in end game (mechanic wise). some of my friends gave up before trying once they saw end game mechanics. 2. listening to what ppl say aka "play what you like the most" is bs in every game so maybe you will like the playstyle, but you might end up suffering in content.
I would love to KB, but that would take a metric ton of playing and analysis. I might do some individual class breakdowns, but trying to compare all of them in one video would be a huge undertaking. One I definitely couldn't pull off before launch.

i always end up just not using grenades and potions etc in games like the witcher and CRPGS like pathfinder / baldurs gate.. will have to get used to it for the endgame in lost ark!

From what I understood from the Russian server, the purpose of alts (other than fun) is to make gold faster. Gold is the most important currency in the game and limited ways to get it. That being said, it's nothing like other MMO's where you feel handicapped if you don't do this.
It’s very true. Gold in NA/EU is the currency used to buy items at the auction house. How we get it may be similar to RU but until launch we don’t quite know

Hitting 50 takes just 12 hours or there abouts. Chains and shushire add 6 more hours. 18 total for shurshire 302 and chains complete

There's also no cap on Chaos or Guardian, you just don't get the best drops beyond the first 2 times everyday.

Hi. It's not exactly what you're looking for but an english-speaking Korean player by the name of Saintone has a guide which can give you some insight on this.
Googling "saintone lost ark guide" will bring you to his reddit post which contains the link to his guide, and within that guide under the left-hand "First Steps (for new players)" category will have a table with notes about each class.
Please be aware that not every class in that table will be here on the eu/na release.
No disrespect to legacy, not my intent to pull attention away from this great video.
i always end up just not using grenades and potions etc in games like the witcher and CRPGS like pathfinder / baldurs gate.. will have to get used to it for the endgame in lost ark!
Great video! this game "checked all the boxes" in my book. Unfortunately, it's not available in my country. I wanna play alongside my friends in the NA server. Nowhere else. ^_^

A lot of people, myself included, are playing on Russian or Korean servers where the game is already out. It's been out for 3 years now, just not in the NA/EU

I’m not sure I understand the question, but the NA/EU version is the same gameplay content (tailored for launch) with some changes to models and skins

If you are playing casual, you can totally get by on 1 character, but we'd still recommend 1 or 2 alts over time. Hardcore, you definitely need them.

From what I understood from the Russian server, the purpose of alts (other than fun) is to make gold faster.
Gold is the most important currency in the game and limited ways to get it.
That being said, it's nothing like other MMO's where you feel handicapped if you don't do this.
It’s very true. Gold in NA/EU is the currency used to buy items at the auction house. How we get it may be similar to RU but until launch we don’t quite know
