Toby's an asshat who sits on his ass every day and randomly decides to work, he has a whole team now, there is no foreseeable reason that these chapter release/finish 2~3 years in between eachother, they should be taking 1 year AT MOST
Every game that’s ever been rushed has turned out badly, so I’m glad he’s not rushing here, deltarune is literally his dream, if that got screwed up because he realized a half-baked chapter 3 and 4, it would be another cyberpunk 😂
Not only that, but Toby's team is also extremely transparent about their plans and their progress. I'm confident that they'll release it as soon as its ready because they keep us updated whenever they finish something. Unlike... other indie teams (_cough_ Team Cherry).
this fandom is so patient that saying "you gotta wait two years for the next update" is great news to us but honestly I really expected the chapters to release around the 10th anniversary of undertale (which is close enough to what the timeline seems to suggest) so if it ends up being 2024 thats like. really early. so cool though

I believe the money we’ll now have to pay for will be completely worth it. My guy’s been working on the game since 2018 and the only 2 chapters we have access to are the peak of 16-bit gaming and to think every chapter gets bigger, I think it’ll be worth it
I'm 90% certain we'll be getting Ch3/4 in 2024. Toby loves his fall season releases and while he COULD not be ready to release it by fall 2024, I feel the chances of that are unlikely. Even if that happens I doubt he would make us wait until fall 2025 just to continue the trend.

I only want a trailer if it's like the one he did for chapter 1 that revealed almost nothing. Even less than that though because I don't wanna even see what the new dark world looks like ahead of time.

I got fixated on the game within the first three days of playing, and I finished it within three days aswell. I think it took a few hours, but I took breaks. I hope to see new content soon!!!

He said he was doing fine (& able to pay his new team) due to UT sales, the official Fangamer merchandise sales, & purchases of his soundtracks. When DR Ch2 released, many people openly shared the same sentiment as you, so he said that if we wanted to pay him, we could do so by naming any price we wanted on Bandcamp for his soundtrack. I think I chose to pay $17 for it there, IIRC.
You gotta admit it's a great strategy if he commits to finishing Deltarune. Get you hooked up worth the first 2 chapters, pay for the rest. Also, you don't go buying in blind. You already know the mechanics, humor, quality and base story from the free chapters.. you're more likely to buy something you already know it's worth it
i don't think the undertale money will run dry any time soon (he's also making money off merch and the OST, plus the game's still selling well), but it was still incredibly generous of him
Our best estimate is Fall 2024. Undertale and both past chapters were all released in the fall time. So its likely that it will be another fall release. Dont take my word. Im only guessing it will release in fall.

So if 4 is a more "standard chapter" hopefully it won't take as long to develop!
