  • In this video, I will teach you how to make a doctor's appointment in English while speaking on the phone. I will teach you the necessary English vocabulary and have a practice English conversation with you.
Even when I call to make a doctor's appointment in English, which is my native language, I sometimes feel nervous. I get apprehensive that the receptionist on the line will ask me a question that I don’t know the answer to and I will feel stupid. Can you relate?
I’m certainly not stupid, I’m intelligent and so are you.
In this lesson, we will review some vocabulary and phrases that will be helpful to you when trying to make a doctor’s appointment in English.
After reviewing the phrases you will have a chance to practice speaking with me in a couple of scenarios, this practice will help you make the phone call in English in the future, and increase your confidence in English.
Have you ever been nervous about an English conversation that you know you need to have? Maybe you even write down some notes to try and prepare what you will say.
In formal situations like making a doctor’s appointment, this is a great idea. Your objective is to make a doctor’s appointment so that you can take care of your health.
Calling to schedule a doctor’s appointment is one of those things that feel embarrassing, even though it should not.
Let’s listen to an example conversation and then we will go over some useful vocabulary that will help you when you make a call to schedule an appointment.

It comes from my heart to you.😊You really care about realistic weak points of learners English, specially, when it comes to people who living U.S. When I watched this video, my stories about calling doctor, making appointment, explain about my issues,… all the stuff came to my mind, ....it was tough.

I'm happy to hear you found this video relevant to your English learning. I have found that so many people here (in the US) struggle with English in these formal settings. I'm thinking of more topics like this one to teach about. Thanks for watching this lesson ❣️
