Just did this, came out very good. I added a shallot. Used fresh rosemary, thyme and sage. The wife doesn't like curry, so I used dry mustard. The gruyere was perfect. I thought about just substituting cheddar, but no way. I'll probably double the herbs next time for my taste.

The herbal mixture I used contains these dried herbs - oregano - basil - thyme - rosemary - marjoram and sage
Sprinkle cheese over tomatoes and broil for a minute or until the cheese is slightly charred. Sprinkle chopped parsley or leeks on top for color.
