- Morning drive at dawn to the most scenic mountain pass in Snowdonia National Park in Wales United Kingdom. Sheep, stone walls, small villages, quiet streams, and stunning scenic countryside views! Video begins in the small village of Penrhyndeudraeth, passes through Beddgelert, over Pen-y-Pass of Caernarfon, and ends in the village of Llanberis. Unlike National Parks in America, you will find many residents within National Parks throughout the UK (more than 26,000 people live within Snowdonia National Park).
Filmed in 4K60FPS HDR H.265 and 4K30FPS SDR H.264. This video is the H.265 version. Please let me know if the video plays correctly on your display!

Snowdonia is a region in northwest Wales concentrated around the mountains and glacial landforms of massive Snowdonia National Park. The park's historic Snowdon Mountain Railway climbs to the summit of Wales's highest mountain, Mount Snowdon, offering views across the sea to Ireland. The park is also home to an extensive network of trails, over 100 lakes and craggy peaks like Cader Idris and Tryfan. ― Google
Snowdonia (Welsh: Eryri) is a mountainous region in northwestern Wales and a national park of 823 square miles (2,130 km2) in area. It was the first to be designated of the three national parks in Wales, in 1951.
Snowdonia National Park (Welsh: Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri) was established in 1951 as the third national park in Britain, following the Peak District and the Lake District. It covers 827 square miles (2,140 km2), and has 37 miles (60 km) of coastline. The Snowdonia National Park covers parts of the counties of Gwynedd and Conwy.
The park is governed by the Snowdonia National Park Authority, which is made up of local government and Welsh Government representatives, and its main offices are at Penrhyndeudraeth. Unlike national parks in other countries, Snowdonia (and other such parks in Britain) is made up of both public and private lands under central planning authority.
More than 26,000 people live within the park. 58.6% of the population could speak Welsh in 2011.
While most of the land is either open or mountainous land, there is a significant amount of agricultural activity within the park.
Since the local government re-organisation of 1998, the park lies partly in the county of Gwynedd, and partly in the county borough of Conwy. It is governed by the 18-member Snowdonia National Park Authority; nine members are appointed by Gwynedd, 3 by Conwy, and the remaining six by the Welsh Government to represent the national interest. Unusually, Snowdonia National Park has a hole in the middle, around the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, a slate quarrying centre. This was deliberately excluded from the park when it was set up to allow the development of new light industry to replace the reduced slate industry. (There is a similar situation in the Peak District National Park where the boundaries were drawn to exclude large built-up areas and industrial sites from the park with the town of Buxton and the adjacent quarries outside but surrounded on three sides by the park.) The Snowdonia Society is a registered charity formed in 1967. It is a voluntary group of people with an interest in the area and its protection.
Amory Lovins led the successful 1970s opposition to stop Rio Tinto digging up the area for a massive mine.
Climate
Snowdonia is one of the wettest parts of the United Kingdom; Crib Goch in Snowdonia is the wettest spot in the United Kingdom, with an average rainfall of 4,473 millimetres (176.1 in) a year over the 30-year period prior to the mid-2000s. (There is a rainfall gauge at 713 metres, 2340' on the slopes below Crib Goch.)

Seeing all the comments makes me realise how lucky I am to live, work and to have grown up here. Sometimes take that for granted. Thanks.
Yes! Finally in my neck of the woods! You've driven round many cities around the world that I've had the privilege to live in, never thought you'd get round to where I grew up! Excellent content. Diolch yn fawr!!
You lucky B!
Did you grow up in Conwy? I visited 10 years ago.
i love it! will upload brecon beacons soon. so many top gear articles linking to that location...which is another topic aside. top gear has been propular in the us for decades now but i just don't know a lot about it. will have to research it out of curiousity. maybe they filmed all over the uk not just wales
@@jutah You picked the right time of year, the road to yourself. Once easter and summer arrive those roads can be bumper to bumper, with hundreds of cars parked along the stone walls even, as the day trippers come in from the cities
@@danieljones4754 Absolute rubbish. I've been 100s of times in Spring and Summer and the roads are mostly deserted. The ONLY time you will see a lot of parked cars is on a Bank Holiday at the top of Snowdon.
the stone walls, the trees, the houses all very beautiful!
I'm quite convinced by that.
I think this is probably one of the best scenic videos you've ever put up. The part where you were driving through the mountains was especially beautiful.
good to see your name come up! yeah this is one of my favorites. i'm closely watching the hevc uploads. my guess is youtube may offer h.265 to a smaller audience..the past few hevc uploads are lower performing than expected. could just be the overall camera and the 60fps and colors is not as good as the main camera i've been using
We are on the same page.
This brings back memories . Drove through the area in 2017. A good ambient soundtrack to compliment the beautiful geographical landscapes and the accompanying introspection. Beautiful .
Beautiful road and amassing scenery of Snowdonia! Thanks a lot!
thanks for letting me know 💪💪
Absolutely stunning. I've heard good things about Wales, but wow.
its that good! i hope the video quality shows it!
@@jutah indeed! Superb video quality! My fiance and I enjoyed watching
Not the right time of year. Looks far better in Spring Summer as it is so green.
@@blackporscheroadster6415 thank you for the tip. Going to have to keep that in mind.
This looks unreal, hauntingly beautiful …
I couldn't agree more.
Fabulous! Perfect! Like something straight out of Colorado, best US state!
Looks FAR better in Spring/Summer. It's incredibly green.
Beautiful scenery along the way. So enjoyable ride. Thanks for the stroll
What a beautiful nature ,thank you for your effort showing us around, stay safe and healthy.may God blessed us all.

You took the words right out of my mouth.
Love this part of the world! Great tour 👍
I'd go along with that.
_Que paisagem espetacular._ 👏🏽👏🏽😃
¿¿¿¿¿???????
Would you believe it ,J Utah driving in Wales ,Great!! concentration at it's most ,narrow roads , tight bends, Sheep to watch out for ,different Language to bear in mind and most of all driving on the LEFT . This can do nothing more than add up to a great bucket load of fun . Meet the Welsh people as well [good for the Soul ] . Well done ,super vid' .
I love going through the journey with you and finding something new and exciting. 😊
I don’t know why I thought in bringing this up, but whenever I stumble upon UK drivethrough videos, the first things that comes to mind are those truck drivers’ vlogs across Europe always delivering a cargo to UK while crossing the English Channel by Eurotunnel.
A relaxed drive through Wales. Thank you for taking me🙂
Brilliant, have spent many great holidays in Snowdonia. Dinorwic, and Beddgelert. Fantastic place to visit, 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Honestly I don't mind it in the winter. You get that frost, clear views through the bare trees, and a kind of reddish colour that is very pretty.
I have been down these roads many times when my hubby was a live 9years ago miss him so very very much
Your video plus music by Secret Garden just magical!!! Was there one year ago, it was my 5th time 😃 , thank you very much!!!
Enjoyed brings back memories of years ago when we were able to drive that far thank you 😀😀
J’ai adoré cette balade de voiture! Merci beaucoup Wowww🤩
you can't get anywhere in a hurry in north wales.......... but who cares with scenery like this! a fantastic place and a great video!
It's very nice. Interesting to like at the beginning of the video it looks like France even the village.
France wishes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
omg... what a fantastic drive. as im normally the driver, it felt like i was the passenger in your car (or was this a bus) with such clarity it was like there was NO windscreen, perfect. it was so realistic that now and then i lent over left or right as you went around corners. haha. my mum was welsh.. Rhondda Valleys. Dad from London. migrated out to Australia 50 years ago. Ive never been to Snowdonia, its breathtaking. what i dont understand... is at the start of your video, there were (what looked like daffodils) wild along the side of the road, so i thought... oooh nice, its spring, but then as you got up into the mountain areas it looked like autumn and bare trees. would have been nice if it looked spring all the way. but a big thank you for this video. like i said.. i was your passenger and you was a good driver :) oh one more thing... you didnt get a single squished bug on your windscreen... out here in Australia your windscreen would be splattered with bug bodies lol
love your story and glad you enjoyed the video! and youre right squished bugs are always fun to deal when the warm months come :)
I couldn't have put it better myself.
Absolutely love it ! You have captured it so well.
thanks! how the walk business going? hows london?
@@jutah I have sent you an email.
I always love waking up and being teleported to somewhere else when I am watching your video. So amazing and cool. 😎😎😎
Thank you THANK YOU for reviving some wonderful memories for me.
WoW! The 60fps is incredibly clear video! Thanks so much for your hard work!!
And the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle appear off to the right at 43:47.
Another superb video. There's a lot of slate in those Welsh mountains.
Thanks for the beautiful video ! Very different landscape than from Long Island, New York.
My goodness..I will definitely visit this place 🥺🥺🥺... heavenly ..looks sooo heavenly in video ...
Incredible drive! Beautiful views in Wales!
yes! see you got some ireland footage up..will post more of that soon!
@@jutah Glad you saw my channel! We have just started, still ramping up in the learning curve of shooting/editing videos but I am finding it very fun. Your channel is our biggest inspiration to start :) Looking forward for more videos in Ireland, you would have material for the entire year in Ireland alone. As you are already in the UK region, the highlands in Scotland looks amazing, the A82 coming from Glasgow to Fort William is on my list and I hope I can drive it in the soon future. What a wonderful world we have! Wishing you all the best and good luck in your journey ✌🏼
This is a lovely video. I had the chance to visit 18 years ago, not sure if I'll ever have the opportunity to return. I really enjoyed how beautiful the footage is; thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing and your time to show us places that we can’t go and visit. Be safe out there and from one of your follower from Wyoming USA.
Why can't you go and visit?

Fantastic landscape. At first the road was grim. I was expecting a ghost to appear right in front of you, but then the landscape was spectacular. 😉👍

Thank you so much :)
Wow, amazing
Well done keep moving 👍❤️
I have some Forza Horizon 4 flashbacks by watching this!
That’s impossible because forza 4 takes place in Scotland and that’s up north. Wales is to the south west
Wow superb drive. Love it man ✌
Hello... cảnh đẹp quá mình rất thích.
What a ride!!!
Great video. Beutiful 👍
👌👌👌

Finally in 60fps👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
Snowdonia National Park❤️❤️❤️
GREY VIBE yeayyy I love it
This is where Led Zeppelin, esp Robert Plant, got inspiration for Zeppelin’s third album. They hung out at a little cottage in Bron-Y-Aur back in the spring if 1970.
Great footage thanks. 👍
i love learning fun facts like this...thanks for commenting!
Oh! What a narrow roads. I doubt that any American pickup will be able to drive over them.
I lived in and traveled all over the UK from California in the early 80's. I brought my Toyota Truck with camper shell over and that is about as wide as I would be comfortable with. You can drive larger vehicles but would have to stop for passing cars pretty often.
As long as a truck (lorry) or bus can drive on the road, so can a ford F150, Chevrolet Silverado or larger. There are some people in both Norway and the UK that own these. And they drive just fine on those roads.
I live in Wales I drive A l322 Range Rover daily the roads are perfectly adequate for that I also regularly pass 30 tonne lorry and trailer combos on these mountain roads so an F150 or Silverado truck are perfectly ok here they just need to have a capable drivers at the wheel
Marvelous video. Looked a bit cold. Cambridge, New Zealand.
Hi there! So amazing tourist spots really, yeah! Now I know Araf= Slow. The lanscapes are staggeringly beautiful indeed. Many thank for sharing. Did you see any ciclist on your way to Snowdonia? Stay safe! 🙂 LIKE
My Wife and I live on the isle of Anglesey and never tire of driving around the Snowdonia national park especially after snowfall when this place looks at it's most magical in my opinion, but in every season it has something new to offer visually. The 4K 60 H.265 video plays gloriously on the screen of my Samsung S21 Ultra for your information. Can I ask if the HDR engaged in the video is HDR10+ as my eye is telling me it is but I may be wrong?. Brilliant video.👍👍
*WNDERFUL*

My home village Penrhyndeudraeth
Brilliant video. Sorry if this question has been answered, but what camera, and mount were you using to film?
J Utah takes you on dreamy trips to places you've Never seen before and likely will never visit. My mind just wanders, Stevie Nicks' "Rhiannon", Led Zepplelin,
Monty Python's "Holy Grail".....
Big fan. May I know what camera do you use? and what about tripod or mount? Looks so stable
You adapt from LHD to RHD quite well, Mr UTAH!
