Went to see St. Paul and the broken bones last night in Ann Arbor. We didn’t think there was going to be an opening act then BAM!!! This firecracker came on stage. Her and her band blew us away. She had everyone eating out of the palm of her hand by the time she walked off the stage AMAZING
@@mickymac6571 the strokes ripped off many a band for 'their' sound, blondie, nyd, ramones, stones, VU etc.... this doesn't mean my comment is any less valid. this mattiel track is beyond reminiscent in my eyes, but music is subjective. if we both still enjoy the track then theres nothing to argue about is there and also room for mattiel to make their own mark.
It’s kinda cringe to hear/read that this is the strokes’ sound. I don’t know if that speaks negatively about your overall musical knowledge, or that the strokes are so derivative of this sound(classical rhythm n blues number) that they’ve burned it out and that’s all they’ll be known for
