I like food/cooking. I like photography. I like Zack Arias's work. Wow this is quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel! Keep pumping out great videos they give me some great entertainment and education to watch on the days I'm stuck on dialysis and I'm sure will give me some great ideas to try with my camera on the days I'm not. I was watching some of your older videos earlier today and the way you teach has always impressed and inspired me. I'm sure the same goes for a lot of others out there.
Hey Zack, I’ve really been loving/appreciating your vids this last while. I first heard your name when you did your first CreativeLive course. At the time I was a full-time photographer but after ten years of that I made the transition to full-time UA-camr... running a mountain bike channel 🤔😂. Anyways, suffice to say that I’d totally be interested in following along with your channels growth and although I’m no expert, if there’s anything I can suggest or help with along the way, it would be my pleasure. Zack, with regards to stats - honestly, brother - they don't' matter and I don't think you should bother with them. I'm sure you know (better than most) that Content Is King, and that's why what you post is always so well received. People who have to stress over this-number-vs-that number aren't producing engaging content.

As far as stats go i would say your stats on people having an improved mood after watching/ listening to you is off the charts if i had to guess. I think you are a golden asset to the photog-business and the world. That is my objective opinion and thank you for sharing!
I just found your channel a little while ago and I just have to say, I love the direct feedback on your critiques. I learned so much from just 3 of those videos and not necessarily only technical points. Much appreciated. While I'm not so interested in contests per se, your insight into originality was very helpful. Thanks and all the best for weathering the COVID-19 situation.

On a more serious note, I've been living in China for just over 10 years now, and please keep the careful mindset and don't underestimate this thing. The glasses are cool, nothing wrong with cooking videos. Be aware there is a pretty significant link between alcohol and anxiety/depression. It causes, does't cure. Loving your stuff, keep it up.

The thing that stands out is that you could careless what the haters think and you should feel that way. I’m just a hobbyist who’s dabbled in the “professional” side of photography but I have similar issues with anxiety as you do. Thank you for putting it all out there for others to see. I hope you were joking about changing your glasses. People say derogatory shit like that because they're jealous. I think doing some cooking videos is a great idea, but I'd start a new channel to do it on (In the same way I'd advise a portrait photographer to keep their landscape shots out of their portrait portfolio).
I agree with what you are saying about landscape vs. portrait. With my UA-cam channel I’m not putting it out for “clients” to hire me. I have thought about starting another channel but I honestly don’t plan on doing tons of them. Just some now and then. Something different for me to do. I need something different to do. I used to do cooking on my IG stories and people interacted well with that. I just want to polish that up a bit and share it here.
I watched and re-watched and re-watched your Photo Shelter, “ If I Had to Start My Photography Business Today” video pretty much every day for a year and it helped me a TON with my business. I have a successful and stable business now in no small way because of you. I’d love to see an updated 2020 video covering the same thing if you’re game!

Your "How to" vid about iphone and lighting scratches that same itch, I bet it has the most views of the new vids you've put out...
Your IG stories videos on cooking were pretty entertaining so I would think that could translate pretty well here! As a photographer it is also one of my hobbies as well. Maybe you could do a little mix where you also talk about how you're shooting/lighting the scenes in the same video. That aspect would also make "ideas" for videos much easier! I also enjoy the "Sam the Cooking Guy" channel here on UA-cam - check him out if you're in the mood for some decent reference material.

Ever since I started following your stuff, both training and other updates, I found the only voice that seems to say the same things I feel deep down. This may sound a bit cliché, but your approach has had a big impact on the way I’m dealing with imposter syndrome and my recent depression. Funny how your first video of this new bunch has coincided with my latest shoot. I’m still editing it, nothing fancy, but it was a way to kick myself into gear and I find the timing of it all kind of fitting. Thanks for your honesty, man, keep it up!

So glad you've found inspiration again! One of my favorite UA-cam videos to share is Crop or Crap. Sharing how the UA-cam Machine works is interesting. I watched a couple that does videos on cruising and also some walking for weight loss content and talked about how the numbers crunch that keeping them as separate channels worked better. FYI LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE OF WHAT'S UP WITH YA.
IMHO you are a gifted and natural teacher. Some photographer channels have gifted entertainers and are more popular. One approach endures. Remember not everything popular is very good. Stay well everybody

Thinking of Covid 19 and it’s impact, some cooking ideas to make great meals out of food essentials including canned food 🥫 would be helpful if we are going to be stuck indoors. Keep the glasses. Apply your 10 critique rules to that commenter’s opinion and don’t “close down your website”. Keep safe and healthy.
Cooking videos: Do it because you want to. It's fascinating to learn what people enjoy doing outside of the way they pay the bills. And who knows, maybe it will start paying the bills. Yes cooking videos are fantastic, helpful, useful, worthwhile time spent on UA-cam. I also like seeing the editing, production involved. As for stats, just want to see subs and views. Zach! Glad to see you on youtube.. When I started taking flash photography more seriously about 8 years ago, I watched your lighting class so many times. Thank you for your help man. Your way of teaching was so amazing and made it make sense to me. Looking forward to watching more videos from you. (PS dont cater to the haters.. keep the glasses)
I think a cooking show would be great, as well as the follow up editing video. I'd like to see the process from start to finish, I've always found your way of teaching very fun and easy going. :) As for the corona virus - we'll make it through. There's going to be some rough times but, like most things, 100% focus on it and excessive worry won't fix it. Keep busy in some fashion and time will take care of the rest.
Cooking video's - well I guess we are all going to be trying something different from normal over the next month. My Street Photography has all but stopped, so yeah, I'll watch your cooking videos! Statistics is fascinating (but i'm a Math teacher), yes please post them, I may be able to use them in one of my online lessons now the school I am at has shut down due to Covid-19!
Zack, I appreciate all of your videos, whether it is your One Light series or on Creative Live or on You Tube. You can be counted on to always tell it like it is; I always learn something. As far as your glasses, I think you should wear what you like. If other folks do not like them, then they can close their eyes and just listen to your videos. And regarding cooking video, by all means; it is another side of your creativity. Photographer and LensWork editor, Brooks Jensen, likes to bake bread. He doesn't, to my knowledge, do videos or podcasts on bread making, but his normal videos and podcasts are not normally on techniques or equipment but rather they focus on the creative process. He has mentioned his bread making is a creative outlet. I would see your cooking videos in the same light--just another creative outlet for you. Looking forward to you next output whether it is on photography or cooking, regardless of the glasses you are wearing. ;-)

I loved your Instagram Stories where you showed yourself and family cooking. I'd definitely love to see more. Glasses are cool, wear what you want, not what others want. It's your comfort zone that you have to work and live in.
Keep the glasses and facial hair be you man! The cooking video idea sounds great (my other love) and you using that to have content to edit teaching LumaFusion is perfect. I will be honest with you on one point. Your no bs approach on gear when you first started making videos (OneLight). I think there are a thousand people doing it but I think your way of pointing out the cheaper gear was amazing. For me it helped tear down the walls of “I want to shoot with lights but getting into it would cost too much”. I remember getting “big mama” and taking it everywhere to just shoot, it helped me so much.

You aren't the only person who is unsure what all the stats mean. A friend was just discussing wondering about all those unknowns...and I had zero answers, so I think they would be very interested.
Go make videos for your channel Zack, not about your channel. You are smart and creative, you don't need us viewers to tell you what direction to go into. Try, explore, learn. Read comments, but also take it with a grain of salt because we will never be able to agree among all subscribers. Wish you all the best!

I'd love to see more of the behind the scenes on your channel as far as stats. I've started and stopped my channel so many times I can't count. You are inspiring me to start up again. Besides, being stuck at home I need something to occupy my time. Much of my work has dried up because of the virus
I'm looking forward to cooking videos. Specifically the lighting and shooting details of how to do it. Last summer, I was trying to convince a friend of mine that she should be publishing these type of videos and was offering to help her shoot them, but honestly... It was going to be quite a challenge figuring all that out. (She used to get mad at me when she would take a picture for social media, and I would take her phone away and take the same photo, but it was 10x better. :D I'm not adding that line to brag, it's to say that your influence back in the day is a big part of why I can shoot the way I do. Keep up the good work man.)

So glad you've found inspiration again! One of my favorite UA-cam videos to share is Crop or Crap. Sharing how the UA-cam Machine works is interesting. I watched a couple that does videos on cruising and also some walking for weight loss content and talked about how the numbers crunch that keeping them as separate channels worked better. FYI

IMHO you are a gifted and natural teacher. Some photographer channels have gifted entertainers and are more popular. One approach endures. Remember not everything popular is very good. Stay well everybody

Hi Zack, Glad you are back. I have been following you for a very long time. Basically you where one of my leading examples when I started my photography journey. Starting of as a real noob. Thanks again Zack for your refreshing views and plan of action. Cooking videos are a crazy idea for a photography channel so absolutely do it. Thinking of Covid 19 and it’s impact, some cooking ideas to make great meals out of food essentials including canned food 🥫 would be helpful if we are going to be stuck indoors. Keep the glasses. Apply your 10 critique rules to that commenter’s opinion and don’t “close down your website”. Keep safe and healthy.
Cooking videos: Do it because you want to. It's fascinating to learn what people enjoy doing outside of the way they pay the bills. And who knows, maybe it will start paying the bills.
You Tube Stats: Yes. Love to hear how the whole UA-cam thing works best.

Hey Zack! Fellow local Atlanta photographer on lockdown here- I would love to see some cooking videos man. I’ve recently gotten into cooking (and handmade Japanese chef knives...) myself, for some of the same reasons as you. Cooking is such a beautiful art, it’s definitely worthy of being the subject of an artist like you. I’d love to see it through your eyes.

Yes cooking videos are fantastic, helpful, useful, worthwhile time spent on UA-cam. I also like seeing the editing, production involved. As for stats, just want to see subs and views. Zach! Glad to see you on youtube.. When I started taking flash photography more seriously about 8 years ago, I watched your lighting class so many times. Thank you for your help man. Your way of teaching was so amazing and made it make sense to me. Looking forward to watching more videos from you. (PS dont cater to the haters.. keep the glasses)
I think a cooking show would be great, as well as the follow up editing video. I'd like to see the process from start to finish, I've always found your way of teaching very fun and easy going. :)
As for the corona virus - we'll make it through. There's going to be some rough times but, like most things, 100% focus on it and excessive worry won't fix it. Keep busy in some fashion and time will take care of the rest.

Cooking video's - well I guess we are all going to be trying something different from normal over the next month. My Street Photography has all but stopped, so yeah, I'll watch your cooking videos! Statistics is fascinating (but i'm a Math teacher), yes please post them, I may be able to use them in one of my online lessons now the school I am at has shut down due to Covid-19!

Zack, I appreciate all of your videos, whether it is your One Light series or on Creative Live or on You Tube. You can be counted on to always tell it like it is; I always learn something. As far as your glasses, I think you should wear what you like. If other folks do not like them, then they can close their eyes and just listen to your videos. And regarding cooking video, by all means; it is another side of your creativity. Photographer and LensWork editor, Brooks Jensen, likes to bake bread. He doesn't, to my knowledge, do videos or podcasts on bread making, but his normal videos and podcasts are not normally on techniques or equipment but rather they focus on the creative process. He has mentioned his bread making is a creative outlet. I would see your cooking videos in the same light--just another creative outlet for you. Looking forward to you next output whether it is on photography or cooking, regardless of the glasses you are wearing. ;-)
Zack, we all go threw stages in life, i knew you didn't disappear for no reason, and im so glad you came back...As soon as you posted first video again i felt happy :)...Do cooking, whatever you want, you always have my support! its not about content you put out, its about the person you are that we follow you!

I loved your Instagram Stories where you showed yourself and family cooking. I'd definitely love to see more. Glasses are cool, wear what you want, not what others want. It's your comfort zone that you have to work and live in.

The cooking video idea sounds great (my other love) and you using that to have content to edit teaching LumaFusion is perfect.
I will be honest with you on one point. Your no bs approach on gear when you first started making videos (OneLight). I think there are a thousand people doing it but I think your way of pointing out the cheaper gear was amazing. For me it helped tear down the walls of “I want to shoot with lights but getting into it would cost too much”. I remember getting “big mama” and taking it everywhere to just shoot, it helped me so much.
These honest, real, informative videos ar so refreshing In the world of UA-cam. I for one am so happy to see you producing content again. And really looking forward to see where this channel goes. Keep up the great work zack
You aren't the only person who is unsure what all the stats mean. A friend was just discussing wondering about all those unknowns...and I had zero answers, so I think they would be very interested.
Go make videos for your channel Zack, not about your channel. You are smart and creative, you don't need us viewers to tell you what direction to go into. Try, explore, learn. Read comments, but also take it with a grain of salt because we will never be able to agree among all subscribers. Wish you all the best!

Love it. I am very multi passionate my self and food is one of my great passions other than photography. I love the creating something and than sharing it with others part. Or even just cooking something and surprising myself with how good it is.

I'd love to see more of the behind the scenes on your channel as far as stats. I've started and stopped my channel so many times I can't count. You are inspiring me to start up again. Besides, being stuck at home I need something to occupy my time. Much of my work has dried up because of the virus

I'm looking forward to cooking videos. Specifically the lighting and shooting details of how to do it. Last summer, I was trying to convince a friend of mine that she should be publishing these type of videos and was offering to help her shoot them, but honestly... It was going to be quite a challenge figuring all that out. (She used to get mad at me when she would take a picture for social media, and I would take her phone away and take the same photo, but it was 10x better. :D I'm not adding that line to brag, it's to say that your influence back in the day is a big part of why I can shoot the way I do. Keep up the good work man.)
