That happens when the verses are overpowered by the chorus. I used to play these guys nonstop as a teen, less so these days. In retrospect, I think they could have gone a lot further if they could have let their songs breathe more. They never stopped to rest after they start in- it’s just a breakneck marathon of notes and beats. Also, Henry doesn’t have much range. I mean, he has emotions in spades, and it def shapes the bands sound in an exciting direction early on, but he can’t actually sing. Just like Greg can’t settle down and let the rest of the band take the lead much. Greg is great, but when I hear Kira’s intro to My War, I think Kira’s talent was way underutilized. I think most song writers often just scribble down any idea they think sounds cool and instantly add whatever riffs/lyrics that go well with it while in that moment. The song's intended meaning, if any, is best determined later by the listener's personal relationship to the song, which varries greatly.
