I ran into Big Bri @ the National. Very colorful…..I like him and Leaf……I just picked up a Leaf card from my LCS this week. It was an Ed Belfour auto numbered /4. Can you imagine what that would have cost me if it had been an Upper Deck card????? As a collector, I love it…..
Interesting points on the inclusivity of women in the hobby. I fully believe and support the acceptance of ANYONE that's wants to participate in a particular hobby. I'm an avid participant in the boardgame hobby (another male dominated hobby) and I've seen these issues brought up in that space as well. At the end of the day, I believe there are correlations with interests and genders. For whatever reason, collecting cardboard rectangles seems to be one that interests men more than women on average. I 100% agree that we should be creating spaces that are welcoming to all so that if someone wants to participate, they feel comfortable doing so.
Notorious EP says "East side is the best side." ... I want to see a podcast with Mike moderating Joe Day, Brian Gray and Husker Havs fighting it out for the last word.
If my daughter does not get into cards, it will not be through a lack of trying on my part, lol. But, honestly, a big reason for a lack of female collectors is largely a function of a huge section of the hobby being incapable of treating women equally.

Yeah, I've spoke pretty glowingly of leaf the last few years...IMO one of the best values in the hobby

Good points! From what I understand the video game world is even worse to women too. Just silliness.
