I've never graded a card. I do own and buy graded cards. I have a few that I will eventually get graded. I'm in no hurry since I don't plan to sell them and no one ever sees them except me. So It really doesn't matter to me if they are in slabs. I'd rather use that money on more cards. 🤷

I have never graded a card, and I own exactly four slabbed cards. I get the grading, but I appreciate the cards raw. They do go into one-touch holders though. 😉 I also am surprised at the lack of awareness of the rarity of the 90s inserts and the subsequent low prices. I'm not complaining as I add those cards to my collection, but I'm still surprised.

We all know that companies with a monopoly have little motivation to care how customers are treated. Is there any reason to believe that Fanatics will behave any differently? I think not. The only way for the customer to win this game -- is not to play. Even EP, the former Fanatics true believer, is beginning to see the true nature of the heartless beast that Fanatics will become.

Is it even possible that the hobby has already "jumped the shark". Fanatics tricks, PSA vending machines, panini Kaboomies. 3000K rookie cards of 1 player. 90,000 cards in 1 set. 547 sets per year. 5,000 different names of card sets....some with 16 names. Where does all the BS end? To quote the great John Wayne, "It's getting to be Regodamdiculous." AND there is no substitute for "superior fit" sleeves. Shellz ain't bad either. at least they don't scratch the cases.

Isn't Arena club a virtual Vending Machine? They do the exact same thing and it's actually keeping that company alive. IMO, I hate repacks, but virtual have less HUMAN shady behavior in operated transparently. Joe - You know Jeter is behind the Arena Club Virtual Repack Machine

Both Donruss and Playoff were the perpetuators of the numbered and parallel sets. When they combined in 2001, it just went overboard. Great talk today!

FYI ebay auctions with best offers accepted show on terrapeak also as auctions with 1 bid. No way to tell if they let the auction run till the end or accepted a best offer (and what the starting bid was in that case, which could have been higher or lower). As for your methodology, do you limit the terrapeak results to only the US ebay or do you check their every other listing site too?

In 2023 and 2024 Topps flagship baseball, there's an insert called "Heavy Lumber" that's a card made out of wood and looks relatively similar to Mike's card. But it would be nice to see card companies try to make cards of out something new/different instead of just reusing ideas.

Nice cards guys. I always appreciate when an insert set has different backgrounds, such as the skylines, not just every player image dropped on the same background. At least change up the pattern.
