Sweden’s influential and long revered heavy metal giants IN FLAMES are celebrating two major milestones in 2020 with their 30th anniversary as a band, and 20th anniversary of their seminal, critically acclaimed album, Clayman.
The band recently formed a worldwide partnership with Nuclear Blast who will debut a special version of the record, Clayman 20th Anniversary Edition, honoring the breakthrough release on August 28th, 2020.
Clayman 20th Anniversary Edition features all new artwork and 5 new bonus tracks including a brand-new instrumental medley and re-recorded versions of fan-favorites such as “Only For The Weak” and “Pinball Map.”
Remastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound. "Themes and Variations in D-Minor (instrumental)" recorded & mixed by Roberto Laghi.
Re-recorded songs were produced by Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, MOTÖRHEAD) and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge (GREEN DAY, ROB ZOMBIE).
The record will be released digitally as well as on CD Digipak and a special 2xLP colored trifold vinyl that includes a 16-page booklet, 11 remastered tracks on a 12” record, 5 bonus tracks on a 10” record in a printed sleeve

I discovered this band when I was 14 years old too many memories was once in the hospital diagnosed with lymphoma cancer is the stomach region and thanks to my cousin sneaking Me out and see my favorite band perform live . i remember bleeding out the IV. Not carrying if I died at that concert would have been pretty sweet but thanks to you guys in Flames helping out my depression my anger my boredom I'm glad to have witnessed sounds of the Underground Tour 2006

I'm a die hard In Flames fan. Seen them in every concert in AZ. The original is obviously better, but I'm still going to appreciate the mix being different only because it's just a different perspective. All hail the GOAT.
I always felt that Anders wanted more range in his vocals, His attempts to add more melody in his singing was always apparent. I've always been a fan of older in flames. I was a teenager when sounds of a playground fading came out and like most I felt the same betrayal when they debuted their new sound. But as an adult I can appreciate their wanting to evolve. I still don't like it but I cant deny them, Its their art after all. We'll always have Clayman
Clayman was the first album that really didn't sit right with me to be honest. But I still love the band, even though I haven't even listened to anything that came out after Clayman (except for a song named Cloud Connected or something like that, because my gf really liked it - I did not feel like exploring their newer stuff after hearing it though).
Me too. His scream is way better now. His cleans were always hollow and weak, he'd cover it up with tons reverb and effects. I think he always recognized that and wanted a better full clean sound.

Most of the time I love re-recordings. It shows adaptation from all the live performances the bands did + usually they have better, more mature and less "electric: sound.

Discovered In Flames in 2017 with Battles. Loved it and went through their back catalogue.
So I'm in no way a purist and I appreciate it for what it is: good music by guys who still seem to have fun doing it.
This version's singing sounds quite good, and I can still listen to the original whenever I want to ^^

Alexandre Hopeson a bands sound has to evolve. If you think the old sounds better then you have the right to have that opinion. If a band keeps making songs sound the same then you run into the problem that I think pop music has with the artist never changing.
