I have no idea how UA-cam picked me to watch this video but there are two incredible coincidences about this. I used to be a truck driver in Germany going Africa, Spain and Portugal when I was in my late 20s and before that I used to drive a caterpillar 940 or 60 and a Volvo dumpster for a tunnel boring company so I’m quite interested but the bigger coincidence is that I graduated from Windham high school in 1982 which will be 40 years next year sometimes I wonder about the Internet and how it works 🧐😎😀😀 and I truly enjoyed your video
Wow that is so awesome You can't believe how this town is booming with construction
Well they are tracking every move and voice we are making.
That would be a pretty serious pucker factor for an 'ole flat lander like me! That was really interesting to watch. Looking forward to seeing how the job progresses!
Yes it is sketchy for sure We all love a challenge though! 💪🏼
Excited to see video of this project in action. What a cool site for a home and what a cool project for you to get to take part in despite the headaches of just getting to the site. Nice video as always, can’t wait to see the next part of this one.
Awesome thanks
Two of the three home developments I did were city move ups. You got this job you can handle it. Great video
I don't blame them for moving out! 💪🏼
I'm a small excavating contractor from Saugerties/Pallenville, love seeing the local guys on YT!
Heck yeah man beautiful country out that way!
Nice Dirt Boss 😎💪🏽 can't wait to see the upcoming vids. It's nice to see other contractors coming together to help. Nice views and mountains that way.
Yes that was awesome
Oh, that's a rough one. Can't wait to see the videos from this one. Be safe Boss.
Thanks buddy
I used to take us to 'Catskill Game Farm' (closed 2006). Lots of land & animals! (NY) When the LOW BOY is too LOW! "Chubby Checker" made a song a long time ago "HOW LOW CAN YOU GO" (Limbo). Living where you are working is a 'no go' for me ESPECIALLY with the WINTERS up there! Be nice if that guy would truck your stuff home "WITH BINDERS"!!! Thank you DIRT BOSS! Sonny
Lol oh yeah the old game farm! Yes binders is a must that was crazyness!
That's awesome man, I know alot of people that haul stuff short distances without binders, gutsy for sure, but that's awesome, that job site is something else Mike man what a view, thanks for sharing 💪🇺🇸
Thanks buddy craziness
I have seen skid steers and mini excavators not chained down.
Nice 👍. I used to pull Tolbert lowbed like that . I’m surprised he didn’t raise the neck and slide it forward to get more Weight on the steers . Sometimes I’d do that near the train tracks around here to get over them. I wouldn’t go down the highway like that but to get in and out of job sites we would do it all the time. If it’s a new enough trailer he can pump the bags in the back all the way up too. Not that it matters you it in there 💪💪
Yes he pumped the bags up and he raised it as high as he could until it was going to hit I guess still wasn't enough
@@DIRT-BOSS man that’s steep hill then! Going to be an interesting site
Retired produce hauler here. I did many years going up highway 9 to Ticonderoga. I usually came out through Severance, much easier in a loaded truck full of rolls of newsprint. My produce days were from CA ( such a surprise) to Florida. I retired for the last time in 2014. After 42 years, it was just time to go home. I am always impressed by where and how RGN trailers do their work, and the drivers who use them have my sincere respect.
Nice !
Wow... Looks like fun just transporting stuff up there. Such beautiful countryside. A reason I enjoy watching Andrew Camarata's channel. He's up there in the NY mountains as well.. Cheers
Yes we are 20 minutes apart
Ouch....that sucks!! Glad he was willing to help you out!
Yes seems like a good guy
That’s one heck of a view living up there. I don’t think I’d be too thrilled with the winter drive though and I live in a snow belt.
I don't know how they do it
That will be a challenge When just getting there is half the job Thanks for sharing Mike 👍 Looking forward to some great videos from this site
Thanks Frank Yes you are right mobilization is a battle!
Howdy Frank 👍
@@CowboyCarCrushing hey Cowboy
Once your up there, mise well stay there, start lining up the jobs on the mountain. I noticed up here (Berkshires) we are running out of flat land and folks are plopping them on the sides of mountains. I here the towns are hitting with a view tax!! Stay away the edge, no slipping and sliding!! Great video Mike👍🇺🇸
Exactly!
I'm a heavy haul truck driver from Ohio and I watched a few other drivers in an old company I use to work with pull some very interesting switch backs , but when your facing stuff like that it's def better to go with a hot shot rig so u have that clearance to pull the switch back corner and keep your momentum up. I pulled a loaded pipe trailer up the same 3 steep switch backs as the low boys and didn't back off 5th gear and my co driver thought I was nuts but we made it
What I deal with everyday in the Virgin Islands, glad to know you guys feel my pain😜
Lol sure do
Hope you get done before the snow . I wouldn’t want to haul out of there this winter. Mike’s dinner in town has great lunch.
Awesome I will check it out but yes getting down in the winter is going to be tough It actually snowed today!
Beautiful country :) I miss it .... I grew up in Orange County NY... At the beach now in SC and HATE it
It is breath taking
That video was 15 minutes of pure anxiety. 😂
Lol it was My whole day was like that! 😆
A challenge just to get up to the site, but worth it for the view Mike !!!!
Low loader was low, very low......
No load restraints on the tag trailer, hope Officer Hoover does not see this 😵 having said that, the driver did you a great service to get you the last mile to the site 💪
Fantastic drone footage at the end, now we get to see the gradient of the site !!!
Sure is!
Beautiful country. My max is about 1 hr travel time from my house.I hate to turn down jobs.Nice to see contractors backing each other with equipment.
Yes he's a great guy He actually delivered me stone today
Great real life vid dirt boss wonderful views this is a interesting one hope your GoPro survives.👍👍👍😎😎😎
I probably should get another one
that’s wild D-Boss! i’ve taken my squad all over the northeast skiing for years now and even though windham mountain is actually the smallest throughout the catskills and green, white, and adirondack mountains, my wife feared going up to hunter mountain the most because of those steep sharp switchbacks without any guard rails for fake security… camera doesn’t even come close to doing it justice. Great video, you should go zip lining and video that my man!
Yes that mountain is awesome definitely crazy switchbacks
Oh no what a day honey! But again you got thru it and figured it out 🥰👍🏼 good job and nice views!! Be careful!!
You know DIRT BOSS gets it done! 💪🏼
For sure! I DO NOT like that 'drop'! 'BIG GUY', you need to be More BIGLY careful on this one - PLEASE!
Beautiful location. Good video.
Crazy nice
Looking forward to seeing the challenge in front of you looking sketchy to say the least stay safe on this one see you in the next video!!!!!
Henry will do
Oh my this looks like it's going to be tough , That city money is going to flow
Yep
As a truck driver I was getting serious anxiety watching this😁good job guys
Thanks man driver gave it his all!
Back on site !
Yeah buddy
Always keep your bags deflated so you can inflate and get off the obstacle lol. That looked like a stressful drive for the trucker. Great job! Smart move unloading at the switchback. Always seems like there is some obstacle in the way.
😆
Another fine video my friend !!! 😎
Thanks buddy
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching buddy
"Monster Mountains" "Big Mountains" 4200 feet. LOL - Love your channel.
Thanks man!
5 state view at pt lookout and also where your at I grew up in east durham in the valley of windham , you are officially in the irish alps, good work USAF VETERAN Billyo
Thanks Mam
Nice W900 and trailer
She's a beaut Clark
How the other half live with those views lol 🤣
Great content Keep the updates coming 👍
Thanks Bud
Good Italian deli in town and a legit diner too!
Platterkill mine has septic sand, stone and topsoil- right down the road in Gilboa.
Awesome thanks so much I will check them out for sure because the pit in Ashland closes in 2 weeks!
@@DIRT-BOSS no problem. He is open until the frost takes over.
I creamed a little when I saw that tilt bucket on the Skid steer. Saw awesome.
Haha
13:01 That‘s why you should always use boards or old tires xD
As long as the trailer pin is locked, you can jack the neck up and maneuver higher objects or turns like that. I ran lowboy for 2 yrs, did it all the time.
We did that wasn't still enough
Gotta love a good job on the side of the mountain.but they pay real good be safe 👍
Yes sir
bad ass video!! wish i was on site with you would be fun!!!!
Oh yeah
We’ve all done stupid stuff. I knew you were in trouble when I saw your tractor wasn’t all the way to the left. I used to deliver to the Thompson Creek Mine outside of Clayton, Idaho. They had to send a grader after me. Didn’t happen twice.
You’ll be fine.
That looks like the old outfit I used to work for Belgian Trucking. He is a Class Act guy
Yes ! Its Floyd! He is Awesome
Looking forward to this job!!
Me too Thanks buddy
@@DIRT-BOSS You are welcome!
Seems you made a new friend in the buisness! Had a backup plan and didn't know it!
Yes sir it's always good to make friends
I need to know more about the no binders situation?
He got it loaded and then just started to get ready to pull away and you were like…..wait? What?
Did you ask what if the 160 falls off? It would have been hard to “turn back” after accepting the help no doubt! 😆
Nice video sir!
Yeah it was kind of like I looked left and it was no binders and I was like what Wait and he was gone!!!
Will be interesting job to follow 👍🏼
Thanks
Raise the deck and put the blocks on it to make the turn. Could bend a rail/beam sliding it that hard.
Nice truck. Still driving my ‘05. Do you have trouble with the magnet stud breaking on your camera mount?
No magnet is strong
i had a dream of this mountain and neighbor hood
Lol
No binders??? That's nuts. Give him room 😜
💪🏼
This will be an interesting project DB. It would be nice to see Andrew stop by. If he does you need to get him to laugh or joke or something lol. He's all work work business, which isn't a bad thing though.
I hear that I definitely will Tell him to stop by!!
Purty Country up there! Boss, if I want to start videoing some of my work which GoPro would you recommend for a person to start out with? Thanks. Good video! Can't wait to see you work on the mountain.
The GoPro 7 black is my favorite it's pretty cheap now because they come out with the 9 but do not get the eight junk
Definitely some steep terrain up there! Took a firetruck up and down that road many times, even in winter! Not always a fun ride. Carvers quarry in Ashland is 10 minutes from you for any stone product you may need!
I know the worst part is they close in 2 weeks I was there today!!
@@DIRT-BOSS If you need a place to stock pile some material for the job before the quarry closes I could probably help ya out!
I live at 8400ft. Just prepare for the drive. My commute is 1hr and I wouldn't trade it for the world. My home is in paradise. No trains, sirens etc. Just critters and peace
I bet
I have been an off an on over the road Driver an when I first started I was over joyed with the awesome sites we have in the US ,the Appalachian's are oversized rolling hills compared to the west coast .
Yes indeed totally awesome
This reminds me of a curved road; on the way to a Hatfield McCoy Trail, in West Virgins. I wish a gps would give you the choice to skip curvy roads.
No doubt
A little like sun valley Idaho except we have bigger mountains! Lol!
I guess I never been to Idaho though
I’m just giving you crap! You have a great channel really enjoy your videos!
Yep you can have that job not for me Dirt Boss ,be safe stay safe take care my friend.
Lol someone's got to do it
Nice truck and trailer but long wheelbase isn’t ideal on switchback corners. We haul logging equipment in the northwest on roads that make that look like the interstate!
Would be great to see you and AC work together Mike!💪💪😎😎
100% go tell him on his channel!
@@DIRT-BOSS I just did in a comment on his last video...stay tuned lol!
Upstate ny is really beautiful especially in the fall and spring seasons
Yes sir thanks
@@DIRT-BOSS you're welcome and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Man , I use to hate pulling those three axcell lowboys. Hang up on everything. And you need 2 acres to turn around.👍
Yeah tell me about it!
Truck is long as space shuttle, no steering axles on trailer...what you expect-ofcorse turning radius is unreal big.Don’t understand why US don’t use real heavy haul equipment like we use in Europe?
That hill would be fun in the winter time lol. Ya I would be nervous following him too lol. Hopefully they don't bring their NYC bs with them lol
Yeah unfortunately we are here and they're starting to make snow on the mountain and it already snowed yesterday crazy!!
@@DIRT-BOSS what is your elev.?
How does the water and sewer work there? Wells and septic or is there city/water sewer?
City water and sewer
probably didnt want binders incase it went off, so it dosent take the truck and everything with it
True! 😆
Hey couldn’t you turned the pto on and raised the trailer up high and kept going?
Driver did his best The hill is very steep
not to be one of those, but i ran a Talbert low bed for years. He could have raised his neck up just to make the corner then set it back down on the pins. I have different size blocks for my pins to raise my deck height and lower my height
Yes we put the biggest blocks in that he had and we also raised it and raise the air in the rear The kid did a good job It was just really steep It don't show on camera
That’s steep on a sunny day. Can’t imagine being the guy that has to run a plow up and down that all winter.
Definitely that's the first thing I said when I arrived! As you get higher up on the hill they're straight down cliffs going right into houses I don't know how just homeowners don't slide into these houses crazy Nice to see you buddy
Why can the trailer be raised up somehow for when things like this happen?
Your down in my stomping grounds I do alot of work on and off the moutain. Deliver a lot of material up there to. The farther you get from albany the more trailers have magnetic decks lol. I've hauled a thing or two with a magnetic deck makes it really quick and simple lol
Lol It sure does! Carver's pit is closing in 2 weeks where am I going to get stone!!
@@DIRT-BOSS the closest pit is garys quarry on rt81. Gallivan owns it now. But there stone is really dirty and soft. I pretty much only haul out of helderburg bluestone bc the stone is clean and hard and people seem to like the blue color but that's a haul from there to windham but that's where I haul from.
@@DIRT-BOSS peckham in catskill has nice material but it's almost double what garys and helderburg charge. Carver is probably closing Ashland plant but there middleburgh plant I believe stays open year round and sometimes they'll deliver it so cheap that's its not even worth hauling.
Yes I've hauled out of Gary's pit before I might just have them trucking in
@@DIRT-BOSS probably better off that moutain is a long hard pull. I'm usually down to 35-40 mph going up loaded and that's with 500hp cat under the hood.
Isn't that up near where they held the 1980 Olympics ( Lake Placid )
No opposite direction this is Catskill Mountain range Olympics were in the Adirondacks
Probably would've had better results if he raised his neck as high as it would go and set his air bags on trailer to highest setting...I've high centered a few times it works like a charm good video tho
I know that highway well!!
Awesome
WOW
Yuppers
Great video again Mike. To those who have never had their butt cringe with equipment, they need to see this first hand. Man, I would have never let that guy take my excavator up that steep hill without binding it down at least a little. I cringed watching that. Dot would have buried him if they would have caught him doing that. Great scenic views up there. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Mike it is beautiful area
just drive carefully.
Phong cảnh nơi đây thật đẹp
💪🏼
Surely you packed your snowshoes and skis? I mean it’s almost that time of the year!
Boss, that would be a great road for a nice summertime ride on a motorcycle. The scenic views, tight turns snd steep slopes would make for a great weekend run going up and back. On the other hand, driving any truck bigger than a pickup would be a pain in the tail going either way!
Just curious…. Who gave you permission to track up the road? Who made you quit? Did you cross jurisdictions?
Lovely video… ugly job for the trucker to tackle!
I got be okay from the builder / other individuals that are working on the mountain said just sneak through but I got caught!
@@DIRT-BOSS you wouldn’t make a very good thief… you should of had a lookout!
How do those people get down that mountain in the winter ❄️???????
Exactly was my first thoughts you guys didn't even see half the mountain how Steep roads are crazy
Did anyone else see the Dodge truck at 2:45? Super clean, gotta be PawPaw's truck
🤠 You know it!
That’s a beautiful area, where’s that at?
New York Catskill mountains
magnetized deck with blue tooth binders
Heck yeah!
We have development s in west Virginia like that here. Steep and dangerous and doubles costs
💯
Typical road for us here in WV 😂🤣
I hear you
You almost gave us a heart attack on that one! Especially when we fell off and got run over, AND going up that last stretch, I was just waiting for the Kobelco to shift/slide. I can just hear the whining about the Kobelco on the road... Good luck on this one - looks like you're almost working in the clouds! Those Catskills ARE beautiful, though, for sure, and it looks like LOTS of big money is moving in.
Yes when he Said no binders I said oh God! 😂 Those mountains are beautiful but they make big snow and especially this one because it's a ski resort they make their own snow!
@@DIRT-BOSS BTW, was that steam I saw coming from his radiator when he came up for that last try?
when im hauling freight near and above asheville nc the camera never shows the true grades i know exactly what ur talking about
💯 Thanks for watching
👍🏻
Yeah buddy
why didnt you raise the low boy the lift will pick the front up 15in of ground cleareance i have the same trailer
He had it as high as he thought he could get it before it started binding up on the front.
@@DIRT-BOSS appreciate the reply my truck has 24.5 on as well his semi looked lower than mine but main thing is you got the job done either way i had to pull my truck up with a 980k last time i pulled my trailer had a d 11r on minus blade load only on a beam tralier just a 10 mile move
Snikies Mike....You let your machine ride up without binding?? I'm really Surprised. You must have some killer Insurance. Yeah Windham is really beautiful.....Boo Koo Bucks in that neighborhood......Bet what you could charge would make the ride down there worth it to you. Plus, I could met you for lunch...I'm like 30 minutes away.
Nice ! Let me know!
I grew up on a Ski Resort, you could very well be crazy. Do you have a good rabbits foot. Andrew C. might colab but you'll need your own dog inspector.
Lol for sure!!!
10:30 what a view….probably what a price tag to
Yes sir
Is that Hyundai excavator bigger then yours?
Same size but it does look smaller
🤘🤘👍
Yes sir
Sure was tough getting all the equipement in to do the job. I hope you make a good profit on this one. Be careful Brother... This is a dangerous looking job. Have a great day.
Thanks Brent 25° here right now
@@DIRT-BOSS BEEEE careful man... we got to keep you around....
I would never have equipment on a trailer in travel, and not be chained down. Complacency at its finest. I don't care how many years a person has been on their job...accidents and injuries, occurs when we are doing something that we know is unsafe.
I hear you ya..all worked out though
Could have raised your trailer with the hydraulics and retired that turn
Just saying
At least raise it up and if that trailer was equipped with air lift then put in manual mode and raise it up. But at least he could’ve raised the front.
We did raise the front and raise it with air it's a lot steeper than it looks on camera.. check out my latest video It shows the truck going up the hill with a tag trailer and excavator
