Even the diet hyper-conscious fads of the past couldn't curb his culinary mastery! He is one of the BEST!!! Bravo!
Even this simple Cake with the simple decorations is light years beyond anything found in the greatest bakeries.
A force of nature then, a force of nature now.
This man is a true culinary master, he can even be a pastry chef
I like how he never wastes anything. He is a true cook.
What an absolute treat! This was the very first episode I saw way back when. The free hand design Jaques did on the farine cake is the very reason why I became such a fan. He won my heart hahaha with the simple but joyful design, and then he topped it off with the jam smeared on the side without worry or fuss on being “perfect.” He isn’t pretentious nor cuckoo over what something looks like. Rather he does focus on flavour and joie de vivre! C’est parfait 🙌🏽
He is a legend!
Superb cooking with no fussiness.
The king Pepin!!
The king of kings!
Beautiful ❤
The man the legend! I have been watching him a long time and he inspired me to start my own cooking channel.
...you do your own design. Beautiful
I wish I was there to eat this...I am so impressed with the cake!
Hail the King ! from Eve G. San Raphael ,Ca.

@@MrSullismom Cornet. Thanks. I looked it up based on your response
I wonder what happened to the food after he made it.
6:38 whipped cream over sour cream on a dessert anyday...i have turned away and refused to pay for desserts that were mislabeled as whipped but servered with sour....why do the French have to ruin desserts with sour cream? If I wanted spoiled cream I'd ask for it specifically please and thanks...
@@joannaedwards6325 Jacques Pepin made his cake with whipped cream but still mentioned sour cream. Fishstix seems more relieved that he didn't use it.
@@joannaedwards6325 Unless they're insulting him like this one crazy lady who accused him of being a supporter of Apartheid, I have zero problems with their nitpicking and complaints. And I actually met the man back in 2017. He's a very accomplished man and can stand on his own. He doesn't need random nobodies on the internet white knighting him on minor nitpicks. I have bigger problems with people misplacing their defense of him. He is very well respected and a legend in the culinary world and he like many people isn't without flaws, however minor they might be. What I do not like are people putting their idols onto absurd pedestals and treating them like they can do no wrong and justifying their flaws, even if they are minor.
@@joannaedwards6325 First off unlike you, I am not a sad and embittered woman. You're the one putting people onto ridiculous pedestals. You're the one who just admitted that you're ranting against Bob Ross “groupies” based on your over the top dislike of the man.
1. You are not correcting their misplaced criticisms of Jacques Pepin. I've seen your comments where you justify the way he does things even when the criticisms the people provided are valid.
2. Quite ironic that you accuse me of using my replies to you as a way to insult people to make me feel better about myself when that’s exactly what you have admitted to doing yourself to people who are fans of Bob Ross and to Jacques Pepin. The fact that you describe me as a “small embittered woman” just seals the deal that you are describing yourself. You’re the one who’s the woman in this conversation, not me.
3. And satisfying your need for “self expression”? You’re not self expressing anything. Every single critical comment I see on a Jacques Pepin video I always see you there white knighting for him and jumping down people’s throats. And of course your self described “merciless rants” against them. Don’t you have anything better to do with your life?
Ok I know everyone is a big fanboy oh here, but that first "stew" dish looks utterly bland. It's completely unseasoned shit thrown in a pan with blanched squid, one herb, and a splash of wine.
I wanted to grab a veal chop and lettuce bundle right off the screen!!!
