Nope, America is seeing the results of unregulated capitalism. The governmental construct which made the British Empire a force of power possessed by a few is the akin to the governmental construct of the United States today. It's what made for unequal justice under the law. Royals face a different justice than serfs. The system is taxing the masses without representation and bailing out private corporate governments insuring their power remains intact. This is the face of America. This has nothing to do with socialism. It has everything to do with anti-socialism which is an affront to human decency. Concentrated non-democratically governed corporate charters empower the largest share holders to be the true terrorist enemies of a free, self governing citizenry. Consumer is the term applied to serfs. The corporate oligarchs rule and suck up the bulk of the wealth that is derived by the labor, creativity and service of others. The corporatocracy owns and controls the means to production.

Than that of socialism & communism. We're currently living in a world where we care much more about intention over effective results. Did that president INTEND to cause that suffering and misery? No, well then it's ok. Who cares if he's very effective at it, and we are repeating it. As long as he didn't intend to, thats always fine. Quite wisely, the alternative form of that proverb is: "hell is full of good meanings, but heaven is full of good works."
