It seems that Scheer implicitly in his disagreement with Hedges through this piece still believes in the American dream and hence if the indigenous peoples were mowed over to get their land and resources well it was the elite that did it-the man in the street or cavalry was a victim. That is totally without foundation in American history and I think Hedges sees this correctly.
"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." - Albert Einstein ***The lunatics have taken over the asylum.*** I agree that most people fear their own freedom, and love their servitude.
I agree the we, as Americans, must look deeply within our own lives/selves and face our darkness as individuals and as a collective society. If we don't, we 'deserve' tyranny. We, in America, have a lot to look at and bring to light out of the darkness...I can see that 'most' people in society are going 'crazy'...literally. Unwilling to be w/ their own thoughts out of fear of darkness and 'snakes' we may find in our sub/unconscious minds. To look at WHY we always have to have an 'enemy'...always looking at 'the other' to blame, shame, or use as scapegoats. Their very well be a small breakdown in society, however, I know within the deepest parts of my heart and soul that we will work through this. Everything is changing at such a fast pace, it is difficult for many to become aware, with all the information bombarding us continuously, and technology rapidly changing who we are as Human Beings...
the united states is the most evil country in the history of the world and we are all responsible. like einstein said, the world is a dangerous place not because of evil doers but because of the people who see evil and do nothing to stop it. obviously the rich who poked out the eyes of their wage slaves get waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more negative karma though. "it's easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven." -jesus
Chris...the reason why 'we' are so divided and their was 'more violence during industrial times'...etc etc..is because we are a mix of people from different cultures and ancestry, where other countries do not have to deal w/ this difference. I agree that our 'elites' have turned on their own people, to reach the power of global governance/hegemony.
the reason the united states is so much worse than other first world countries is because we have had to deal with the strongest forces of evil in the history of the world. the united states is so much bigger and richer than any country in history. the further left a country is the faster it will grow economically also being protected by great oceans created the richest oligarchic class in history aka capitalist class aka the forces of evil. being rich is evil and being poor is good/moral. the strongest forces of evil ever have smashed good in our country, although they borrowed their mindset from the royalty of europe.
The people in charge aren't stupid. I think they are insane. They tend to be people who have always got what they wanted - whether they were born with it or achieved it - and they look at that one thing we all want and know they can't have. They want to overcome their own death. And the fact that they can't have that one thing they most want, they think they can either get enough power to somehow make death irrelevant, maybe to remake the world in their image.
The slaves & the ancestors of slaves, were not immigrants who came here looking for success or a better way of life...To hell with everyone and anyone who supported or currently support the oppression of innocent human beings.

OMG, After years of admiring you, I find that you now are following the "Homeland" agenda of labeling particular groups of people. Chris, what happened to you?
***** Not the TV show!! TPTB refer to the US as the "Homeland" which I personally find a offensive. The labeling Chris did is more along the lines of TPTB.
Brilliant, illuminating, highly civilized and poignant for Truth. Thank you, Honorable Gentlemen!

A fascinating disagreement over American violence, abroad and at home. 🤔 It hasn't dated...

Well, this seals the deal. Scheer is so naive he's almost useless.
Money!!!!
what happened to part 5 of this topic
Scheer has does not view "Indians" as part of his "society....
PLEASE REPOST 4 & 5. THEY WERE TOO GARBLED TO LISTEN TO!
Lexi8888 I watched both segments on TheRealNews website. Not sure why they are broken on UA-cam?
They definitely should, and repost the whole thing on a playlist... Really great conversation, too great to be garbled.
fix part 5 before you upload part 6, please.

J Thom thanks. it's pretty odd that the condition of the video is fine over there, when the same segment isn't playing correctly on youtube.
