- For our summer holidays this year we picked the stunning French Riviera in the South of France as we wanted to be able to visit a number of lovely towns, enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean Sea and gorge on French pastries! Join us as we spend a week travelling along the coast, eating some amazing dishes and enjoying spectacular views along the way.

Magnificently beautiful part of the world - the gardens just spectacular. Can imagine the excellent food offerings. Never been in the French Riviera, Marseilles the closest, and this is significantly more luxurious and laid back. Getting there from Abruzzo I would consider taking an overnight train, probably from Rome, although would be good to live close by to an Abruzzo train station. Your Abruzzo location provides pretty good, quick access to excellent travelling opportunities right throughout all of Europe. Warmer down there too which is something to consider the older you get.

Next time take a bus from Nice to St Paul de Vence . A beautiful walled medieval village with stunning views.
