- Forget all other versions of this song, THIS is the only one you will EVER need to hear!!
Madison - 15-Oct-2005
Dedicated to Henrik and Herman Storbraaten...love daddy!
My wife and I saw this concert.....and this performance of Dream baby Dream was so moving that she cried like I've never seen her cry before. Being a wonderful artist herself, I asked her why she's crying, and she said because he's completely naked on stage.....I see his heart, I see his soul..... He's exposing every molecule of emotion in his body............That reaction and comment were the most real, beautiful and touching moment I ever had the pleasure of witnessing ....and something I will never forget for as long as I breathe........That is the essence and the Talent of this incredible Artist.......Thank You Mr. Springsteen, for all that you are and all that you give.

Its basically 3 words repeated for 8 minutes and yet springsteen makes it captivating. That man is a legend.
That's the point. A remake from Alan Vega and Martin Rev
Alan Vega attended Springsteen's 20 Jul 2005 show in Bridgeport, CT. "I'm still high from that show. Now I can die. Not only he's playing 'Dream Baby Dream,' but it's the big encore song, the last song of the show," Alan Vega told Backstreets magazine in an interview. "A lot of bands have done my stuff, Suicide stuff [...] Thank god, finally somebody did their version of it. He interpreted my song, he did it his way, and such a great way that I'm going to have to sing it that way...
It's not often you see the audience so captivated by Bruce while singing. This says allot. The Boss all the way.
It's wonderful to hear Bruce's interpretation of Suicide's classic. Both versions take the listener on a transcendental journey. What beauty!

Saw him perform this in Atlanta on the D&D tour. First time seeing the Boss live.
I had shivers. Sat on the edge of my seat for the entire song.
Damn near burst into tears spontaneously.
Long live Bruce!
Hear hear😊
dream baby dream, bruce gosh!!! This goes deep trough all my bones! It was soooo great to hear this song on several concerts of the DD tour...I am so happy to watch this song over and over again
To anyone who needs it: YOU GOTTA KEEP THE LIGHT BURNING, I JUST WANNA SEE YOU SMILE!
I saw Suicide perform this in 1978 in a truly jaw dropping performance. Springsteen really does the song justice, but no surprise there, he was an early advocate of Suicide and all the CBGB bands of 76/77 and regularly went the their gigs. A thing of consummate beauty.
I'd never heard his version of this song until now -- this is the first time. He sure did a great interpretation of the song.
Quante emozioni Bruce !!!questa canzone e stupenda!!!😢😕😅😀😘😍💎🎸🎶♥️
first time i heard this it was good. second time it was great. the more i listen, the better it gets! WHat a brilliant cover!!!
Alan Vega said about Bruce's cover of Dream Baby Dream "Bruce did the song in such a great way that I'll have to sing it that way or not sing it at all anymore.... On my deathbed, that's the last thing I'm going to listen to. I'm going to play it at my funeral" Coming from Vega, co writer and not a fan of covers of this song (they all sounded the same as Suicide's original) high praise indeed.
I think I admire Bruce a lot more that he took this song from the band Suicide and made it famous. He was facinated with their music after meeting them randomly at a recording studio. His song State Trooper is inspired by Suicide's music style.
Love this song, very FELLINGS and Emotions with BOSS MAGNIFIC !
Merci Infiniment pour tout 🦄⚘️🦋
Bruce - a rock n roll Bodhisattva - how many has he saved! - amazing vid thanks for posting
Love that moment at 6:57. You think it's one of those small theatre shows he sometimes does because the audience is so silent. Then you pull back, and it's a STADIUM, rapt in attention. Incredible performer.
oh, Bruce... stunning,man...simply Beautiful. The spirit was so in you when you stood to sing this song. Wow...
Beautiful. Can't say no more. Brilliant artist grabbing one of ten best tunes.
Bellissima versions!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏di questo capolavoro!!! 💙💙💙💙
I meant thumbs up! I saw him perform this on the D&D tour, and as powerful as it is here, live it WAS magical. We were all under a spell. Emotion and sound filled the theater in a way that I've never heard at one of his concerts--and I've seen quite a few--when thousands are singing our hearts out. The haunting organ and his voice alone seemed to be singing to each one of us alone. What a powerfully intimate experience. I actually called my office to record it and listened to it over and over.
Read the lyrics to Born in the USA, and you wont feel like you have to say sorry. I used to dislike that song too. Thought it was probably xenophobic. I read the lyrics and became a fan. If you start reading Bruce's own lyrics and then watch his performance of them, it's impossible not to be a fan, cause you realize very quickly, that he's always singing about you. Cheers :)
This song makes me dream of Bruce all the time.
The master at work...
One of the greatest performances, EVER!!!! Thank You!!!
Wow, this is really special, much love to Bruce for doing Suicide justice and bringing them to a wider audience
This cover is honestly one of my all time favorites. It’s done so beautifully…a perfect love song. ❤️
saw springsteen for the first time in stockholm on the d&d-tour and i´m still stunned by this song..all u can say is wow..!!
He really challenged audiences on that tour. I saw the second Royal Albert Hall show in 2005. I think the first or second song was "Reason To Believe" done through a 1920s mic. It took two verses to recognise the it. Very David Lynch. Then he finisheed with THIS!
AMAZING THIS SONG !
BOSS IS A GREAT SONGWRITER AND MUSICIAN! MAGNIFIC BRUCE, GENIOUS. ❤❤
So so true!
Saw bruce at the Royal Albert Hall perform this. Great!!
Im love the song Dream Baby dream its very emotiens Thank you out Berlin Germany
Can live music get any better?this man is the most gifted singer/song writer the world has ever seen! just amazing he is with out doubt THE BOSS for a reason!
Saw him Albert Hall up close to stage it was magical didn’t want this song to end…audience spell bound and best part was there with my 16 year old son Sean who had recently “discovered” the Boss listening to my cd of The Rising year before
Deus é Lindo. Bruce Iluminado uma Bênção. 🙇♂️🙇♂️♥️♥️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Captivating.

Oho so beutiful music!❤❤❤❤
Beautiful.
puts a tear in my eye !
Linda essa música, o Bruce canta maravilhosamente bem. 💋❤
I like bruces hounting voice and the way he puts his soul into all his music!!!
He is the BOSS..... this proves it for me, wasnt always a huge fan of his, my mom is, but to see him covering a suicide song, and knowing he goes to shows with his kids (Against Me!) hes as big a fan of music as he is a superstar in the music industry... personal fav bruce record: Nebraska.....
Taylor today is the 42nd Birthday of Nebraska if you go to my UA-cam playlists I did a Nebraska Tribute album recreating each song
AMAZING THIS SONG IN ALL VERSIONS.
beautiful song... oh yeah... dream baby dream....... come on you gotta keep on dreaming.. come on you gotta keep on dreaming.. come on darling dry your eyes.. come on dream baby dream.. yeah i just wanna see you smile :) yeah i just wanna see you smile :)
Sorry, listened to the orig. electronic doodletamtamda, lyrics muttered = this version is Pure mastery of d potencial! Love IT!
Obviously Bruce saw the brilliance in the song....Electronic pioneers that were more punk with an organ and a drum machine than most with guitars and drums. Suicide were like an assault on the senses. That was the point. They inspire-even to this extent. But i guess you missed that. atleast bruce can see it.
I'm smiling.... THANK YOU BRUUUUUUUUUCE!!! Whar a Brilliant artist
@MrUnidyne
Beautifully handled. Vega's solo first three solo albums go great with Springsteen from that era. Of course there was a lot of acknowledged interplay between them. Also love The Boss's unreal cameo on the studio version of Reed's STREET HASSLE.
I'll never figure out why some fans feel the need to put down other artists instead of just praising their own chosen heroes...
Springsteen's version is a great interpretation of Alan and Marty's original tune.
You mean this isn't his song?

Sei grande Bruce ,,, Cinzia
Toller Song! Vielen Dank!
Another reason why the D&D tour was so special
This was from Madison, WI
Springsteen is hugely respected in the industry and he's a music historian...I'm sure any artist would be flattered to have him cover one of their songs.
Alan Vega goddamn! Beautiful person.
Muy Bonita Alan Vega. More important then Bowie in my opinion.
For me this is a hypnotically wonderful " grown up" lullaby.....night-night
This my favority song after DANCING IN THE DARK....❤❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
If bruce was a top trump card he would win every category. Simply brilliant
I seen The Boss in Seattle on his solo Devils & Dust tour. He brought an emotional response from the crowd and made me a fan of "Dream Baby Dream." I don't mind saying he brought tears to my eyes when he sang this song. So few lyrics and a pump organ....who knew?
Great one. 8)
Always makes me cry
This Is Khdewe Mahmoud Abdulaziz Basha From Egypt And I Admire Your Voice And Your Attitude And Performance Eaither, And We Gotta Waiting For Your Concert Soon In My Hometown And My Homeland Egypt .
Love to dream. It's the only time you are all mine, so I dream baby. I dream.
padam na kolana sluchajac tego utworu, moj najnajnajbardziej ulubiony....
Bruce is playing Portland March 28th. I hope he does this.
Dude wrote a song for the Ramones (Hungry Heart) AND cameo'd on Lou Reed's album (Street Hassle), so I think he's got 'Punk Cred.' but whatever; he clearly loves (punk) Rock AND Music in general.
And his own 'E' Street Band is pretty damn good.
@kobe9985 You apparently misinterpreted my posting. All I was saying is that Bruce Springsteen's"State Trooper" was apparently inspired by the works of Suicide. That's all. I meant no insult to anyone.
When hearing this for the first time I was a little bit apprehensive, but he really could not have done a better job!
przeeeeeeeeeeeepiekny...............
Sogna e sorridi.... SEMPRE
Everyone knows that this is a cover of "Dream Baby Dream" originally by Suicide?
oh yeah home chicken!
Yeah. Bruce was a big fan of Suicide apparently.
he was in the scene, read please kill me!
It’s actually from Roy Orbison
I can feel the rising...
Where was this shot? Curious, as I saw him do this at the Nassau Coliseum on the D&D tour.
I recall hoping he'd pull out "Thunder Road," "Born to Run" or another hit -- he'd only done "Incident on 57th Street:" from the E Street Band -- and then he played this.
Fabulous. Perfect. That's why he's the Boss...
❤❤❤❤❤ i"m sooo happy
Hey is that shop really there,am gonna go down from belfast to get those bruce dvds!haha True bruce followers has to be done!
Im loved this song and you
need to hear the original this is no doubt a great version..that's the genius of the song by Suicide in 1971
Hopefully this will introduce more people to the original! If you can find it, a good introduction to Suicide and Alan Vega is the compilation 213CD.
I'm not even that much of a Springsteen fan but this song is awesome!
hello
very good song what a beautiful and beatitude time
please who is Henrick "Henke" Stoorbraten?
Woah, I did not know that.... indeed that first suicide record is....... beyond words. And as I said earlier Nebraska is my favorite bruce record..... trippy... I happened to eat a few mushrooms earlier too...
Common and open your heart....dream dreametc etc....
Dudes got good taste if he's cover this song
Utterly brilliant. Saw the Devils & Dust show in Dublin and this choice of finale was a jaw dropper. What show is this version from?
Please, can someone tell me what performance of "Dream Baby Dream!" is this? Thank you...goodnight everybody
Oh my Darling my sweeþedsþer DTming😊😊oh my dreem Bruce my Bruce
He couldn't have chosen a better tune to riff.

MAGIC BOSS!🇧🇷🇪🇸
@godhelpme2009 The only Bruce song I could see Suicide covering is "State Trooper", which I believe was inspired by the songs of Suicide.
