I agree with the comments, that it was a low roll doffy vs high roll shanks who had a solid string of turns vs your string of weaker than average turns. I don't know if it was winnable unless opp punted to you tbh. I am watching these matches in prep for my own treasure cup in a week so these loses, and identifying win cons/lose cons are very helpful! If I do well at this treasure cup, then I attribute my accolades to you.

You low-rolled and Shanks high-rolled (only turn Shanks didn’t play the optimal card was the 9 don turn when he played Becan instead of a Rayleigh).
On Shanks Newgate turn I think you should have blocked leader swing with one Boa, then Shanks probably attacks with Yasopp into the Boa, making it a 5k, you just block with your 6k active Boa and give a 2k. Then he pops the Boa with Newgate. Board state ends up the same but you have one less 2k in hand but 2 extra life. Then next turn since you’re at 4 life you ignore the Yasopp and swing at least 6’s into Shanks probably bringing him down to 1 life and 3ish cards in hand. You’ll lose 2 characters to KO but you aggressively defend any characters he’s swinging at if you think you can save them for the turn. Then you’re hopefully swinging 3 times into his 1 life with 10 don and that should win you the game or at least set the win for next turn.

I'm one tricking shanks since it released and played a lot of doffy matchups (good and bad ones). One main difference I noticed about your gameplay (respectfully said) is that you went pretty low on life quite early (you were at 2 life in the turn where the shanks played newgate, you could have blocked plus 2k with the other boa that wasn't reduced to stay at 3 life atleast). I played the exact same sequence of turns and my opponents were sitting at 3-5 life for a quite long time. It makes it quite difficult as shanks to finish the game as you are threatening perfume femur when the shanks drops to 0 life so more aggressive swings at life would be more benefical I guess (unless you dont' have it but swinging 10 into the newgate is still quite a tempo loss and commits a lot of don).
Due to the fact that you were at 2 life and having no blockers up (plus beeing low in hand size) made it too easy for shanks to go for game. As you mentioned, it would be a huge throw if shanks didn't go for it. It was a typical game where you didn't saw enough boa blockers which are a key piece to make it impossible for shanks to go for game as he dies easily in the clapback while beeing at 1-2 life and low in hand size.
Don't want to sound harsh, just a line of thoughts from my side. Great analyizes/gameplay regardless.

Nah i think swing into yasopp swing into whitebeard was a lot of wasted attack. Maybe random 9k swing before pudding on that turn was the move too.

@@OPTCGgrinder You know you can die but your opponent doesnt. Hes incentiviced to play for board because the longer the game goes the higher his chances of winning as a shanks actually are, so no way he can yolo go for game when you have over 5 cards in hand. I think you couldve put him on rayleigh or bust by sending it all face one of those turns.
