You really unveil the little hidden jewels of N. Tebal which I wouldn't know if not for you. Regularly went as far as Swee Garden Resataurant for our favourite roasted "pig leg
I learned a lot about Malaysia from watching this channel. Its little bit of brief history introductions, local customs, regions and foods, cities and of course the people..👍
Hi CK, thank you for your generous sharing and explaination. Eventhough I am unable to travel due to my health, watching your channel makes me feel like Im travelling. Do take care during each trip. With many ❤️
At the Tua Pek Kong temple entrance, there are 2 granite tablets with engraved names of donors who donated money for the refurbishing of the temple in 1926. The No 1 donor was my great-grandfather and he was not a Teochew nang. We are Xinning or Taishanese. There was a big community of Xinning people in NT back in the early days but now many have migrated elsewhere.
Wow my father's mother is Teochew so that makes me 1/4 Teochew. Thankfully I was taught the language and I'll definitely pay a visit to Nibong Tebal next time I make a trip to Penang. Thanks for showing us Ck! 👍🏻
I love your videos. When you mentioned Nibong Tebal, I thought to myself: This place sounds vaguely familiar. Now I know why. It's part of Penang Island. Enjoyed the way you presented tnis humble place and their delicious foods! Very informative!
My mum from Nibong Tebal but I hv not explored NT fully. Born in Penang myself but didnt explore Penang also. I moved to KL when I was 8 yrs old. Thanks fr yr video❤
Long time a go..Hong Kong seaport is under control by Teo Chew gang. So many Teo Chew peoples living in Hong Kong, but they're is 3rd or fourth generation, those person's can't speak Teo Chew language probably, because daily speak Cantonese language. "Teo Chew Nang Kaki Nang, Pa xi bo xiang gan" Thanks CK for the information. 😋😊😄👍
Ventured as far as Swee Garden Restaurant for our favourite fix of "roasted pig leg", Thai-style often, but never beyond that. Never knew that there are more hidden jewels of goodies in Nibong Tebal if not for you. Thanks for the video highlighting the little hidden gems there like Chop Cuan Guan & Lim Aik Hoe Restaurant which I will definitely going to savour during my next trip there...In life, I live to eat. Not much time for me to stay physically, mentally & financially healthy to enjoy my eating spree. Am in my 70's now!!!???
Absolutely mesmerising from start till end; your vlogs r magical. From the comments, we gather that many viewers r fascinated. (I presume u scored distinctions in both ur English & History at school.) Well done!
nibong tebal is the capital of the district of seberang perai selatan. just as bukit mertajam is for seberang perai tengah, butterworth for seberang perai utara, george town for pulau pinang timur laut and bayan lepas for pulau pinang barat daya.
CK your this vlogs makes me hungry. My mum from Nibong Tebal but we have lived in KL for a long time. I didnt explore neither do I know much of a good food there except for the biscuits shop🤭
The moment you mentioned the words "Tua Pek Kong", I knew immediately you are a Teochew because the tone of the words is exactly Teochew. Hello, ka ki nang! 😂
Hello CK .. love your vlogs !! Thank you 😊.. would you ever be able to do my hometown ? It is Menglembu ..they do some really great food there ..once again many thanks 🙏. Booked tickets for 27/5 next year
Thanks 4 the video. Visited penang island Last mth. A bit disappointed with Teochew food on Kimberly street. Guess it is disappearing as the stallholder aging. The nonya food was good. Thought nasi kanda Should be good but I think is a bit overrated. Being a foodie myself, I also cook, May be expectations too high.
This is the little town I was born in and grew up... lots of childhood memories here. My ancestral hometown....
Wow hope I do your hometown justice with this video 🥌🥌
