- The Blue (and black) screen of death, known as BSOD for short has always been an iconic crash screen which has evolved through the years of Microsoft Windows. In this case, today this video will show most if not all of the Windows BSODs, plus some honourable mentions.

UPDATE NOVEMBER 14 2021: This video has now been outdated due to Windows 11 introducing another new BSOD in a different color in Build 22499.1010.

ok
Woah, I want to see this.
I saw this on my HP Stream Laptop.
BSOD : the only feature in windows that never failed to deliver
Except in my pc, where it fails to render the goddam error codes, so the stop codes is just: “” blank.
@@enderjed2523 dude your computer is fucked
@libby wheeler . I nearly cried when i heard that the last hope of mankind also didn’t provide him his well earned service and respect.
@@BandObsessed923 Correct!
@Flibbee Cam No, I've had a couple of those, nothing that smacking the rear plate of the device can't fix!
oh my god that windows phone update failure looks terrifying
imagine like out of nowhere just a sad face pops up
@@olosss9548 yeah that’s terrifying
@Preston Jackson I saw a dead Android bot on my old tablet. Sure it worked again but I was scared beyond straight when I saw that 😂
@@JxstWink I guess that was safe mode screen?
@@yeppiidev no like it was a Android bot just laying there with a big red X on him, it took my dad moments to realize it was a startup failure.
Love the update failure screen. The face gives me that feeling...(again)
:-(
@Ömer Tunç thanks :)
:-) be Happy

4:33 The Windows Phone gets too sad to give any information about the crash. *:(*
Who needs it?
It just wants to be left alone :(
It needs a moment alone. It's been through many rough trials at Microsoft, but we are here for the poor fella. 😢
:(
It's like "go away, I'm dead inside"
Windows phone bsod scares me. When you at your room dark alone and you look at the phone and the :( appears.
I used to have a phobia of the BSOD. Back in early '10 when I stood the night at a 4th grade lock-in, I was playing various little online games on the computer with a friend. I was introduced to a game called Roblox (which was a much better game back then mind you) and decided to try the game out. First time attempting to run the game instead threw the BSOD in my face and I cried in terror, thinking that I had just broke a sophisticated, expensive piece of tech.
Oh boy, I look back on those days and laugh my ass off.
Yeah this BSOD is scary I had it first time one windows xp
I had a bsod when i tried to download roblox too and it was weird i still had a phobia of it
I still play roblox
oh dude i broke into tears the first time i had bsod cuz i had no money to buy new laptop.
It was January this year, I was running 2 videos at the same time in my computer and in the middle of the videos windows trowed a bsod in my face
Windows 1.01 be speaking facts
True
yeah
fax
BSOD speaks the enchantment table language
I was wearing an t-shirt with a Apple logo on it and a Win 10 with a camera showed a blue screen.
Lesson learnt, never wear that in front of Windows. 😆🤣😂
Try wearing it while windows 7 sees you

The BSODs on the windows 9.x series were much more common and seen more often than the others, especially Windows ME.

Noice joke man
Interesting that Microsoft keeps going back to black screens on beta releases of Windows
I'm running beta there is no black screen there is a gsod though
@@pinklightninggacha It's green because it's an insider build
They are probably going with black ones so it's easily recognizable when doing internal testing or whatever.
On the windows 11 insider i get a bksod (black screen of death)
@@marct.g.5468 most likely. The reason it was a blue screen of death was bc it was easy to spot in a massive room of monitors. Now that a lot of Window’s UI is blue and the end user BSOD is a lot “calmer”, it’s more ideal to have the crash screen be black
Also known as the STOP error or bug check. One time I saw it appear in school twice in the same class period.
fun fact: the windows incorrect dos version bsod is actually computer data that it can't understand so it just prints it on screen
That's garbled unicode.

Windows 10: Blue Screen of Death
Windows 11: Black Screen of Death
Well since Windows computers are in beta so they are black.
Literally just as i was sliding through my suggestions and this video popped up and right that moment my pc got a bsod, lol what a coincidence
is it just me that the windows 95/98 BSOD looks more organised than windows XPs?
nt had this bsod for a while
windows 8 m2 bsod is my favorite
BSOD is dead, long live BSOD!
No, it's still here, but different.
It's Black Screen Of Death which is still BSOD
TheRedstoneHive its still bsod but different.
does anyone know what the windows phone 7, windows CE and windows mobile BSODs are like ?
No matter how old it is , it is always horrifying

I need help, I have an old windows 7 computer but whenever i log on to a user the bsod comes. it’s a different screen to the windows 7 one u showed
What does it show?
@@TFB2024 oh i got rid of the computer. i was never gonna use it i thought. its fine i have many other laptops/computers
It is interesting that Windows 9.x gives you an option to attempt to continue using the PC instead of rebooting automatically.
did you forget da vista beta code name longhorn rsod?
I find it hilarious that the phone just frowns if it crashes lmao
Same
and it doesnt even say anything
You forgot the orange screen of death! It's related to GPU errors. :)
What about the yellow screens of death 😢
On Windows 11 Insider Preview 22000.65 it's Green (GSOD).
but if you disable the Insider crash mode, it will show the black version of BSOD instead
Its black screen of death if you disabled the insider crash.
the win 3.1 beta screen was the groundwork for the windows 11 screen
the black windows 8 and 11 bsods terrified my even more the blue ones. im paranoid ok
a couple of these aren't crash screens, like:
0:10 contrary to popular belief, this isn't a crash screen but is displayed when the Microsoft logo is displayed and glitches, causing the garbled text, possibly due to age
0:19 this is actually the Task Manager warning
For the first part: I count having the 'Incorrect DOS version' as an initial crash of some sort. That happens when you run Windows 1.01 on like MS-DOS 6.22 or 7.11.
For the second part: The task manager warning becomes an error when the program stops responding to the system.
I always had a phobia of bsod
The first error have a incorrect codes and on the screen is the codes to the screen
Nice video
What is the name of the music?
Is an black or blue the screen
Video:😭😵😩😱

Oh old bsods 😔
What happened to the w11 bsod screen where is it lol

I used Windows 8.1 for 5 years and I literally got no (not even a single) BSOD in 5 years! But in Windows 10 I got like 100's of BSODs. The first time I seen a BSOD in Windows 10 scared me a bit only and the PC restarted itself. I only get Windows BSODs in a virtual machine. Also I never owned a Windows Phone. Not gonna lie the Memphis build 1400 BSOD looks so scary and terrifying.

I like how the windows phone is just a sad face lol.
maybe it’s sad cuz it crashed, f for Windows phone :(

Sometimes i got pink screen of death :/ idk the reason but it happens on valorant

I see where the phrase “blue screen of death” comes from now. Windows 1.0’s literally looks like the system is having a stroke.
Oh god the bsod in the first version of windows is harder to decrypt than the mc donalds ice cream machine errors

wow and new!
i had my laptop for 2 years and never got the blue screen of death
You forgot Red Screen of Death from Windows Vista Beta
They give it though
Red makes no sense, Blue means your computer is out cold, because it is now doing nothing because of the stop-error.
From scary to friendly.
Windows 10 v. 2004 bsod now says device.
Blue screens can occur for a number of reasons
1 virus destroys computer
2 Dahao computer loading
3 hard disks damaged
4 Ending csrss.exe
5 Sleeping in ur pc keyboard

Windows 3.1: so u have chosen death
