    Amazing licks and that amp sounds satisfyingly good with all settings shown.

    Well and clearly demonstrated! Several tones, several styles, and you can play. Free-flowing chops, well-employed in context.
    Impression is that the preamp section sounds perhaps better than any other Markbass head I've heard. How that translates through the power section, driving a cab with a band, would be the thing. Still, very well done!

    Killer sounding amp! Beautiful warmth and definition in pretty much all settings! My MB LMII has just packed up after 15 years of service so this could well be my replacement 😃

    Sounds great!
    What kind of speakers where you using, or was that DI? Also, were you using a bass w/ active electronics?
    Thanks!

    played on one of these at a GC, they are killer amps. I know Markbass has a preamp pedal version in the works. I'll definitely be giving that one a look.

    I finally subscribed to your UA-cam channel as I am old and don't have Instapoop. Finally a real bass player giving a review on the MB Vintage.. Question #1...Did you ever get around to trying out the Vintage D2? This one is too clean for me, and/or they don't do a good job marketing from a technical perspective and the are not alone so I hold no grudges.
    Not sure what Premium components mean and what exactly is gold plated, two solder connections or the entire circuit path? . Also, a 12AX7 tube as many people know, is two tubes in one, so what is the second half of the tube utilized for? Typically half is the first pre-amp stage and the other half could be utilized for a driver / gain stage...Some heads use the Tube for effects send or eq boost so it would be interesting to know....
    Sorry to be such a bummer but you have some great chops which makes me sad, happy for you.

    I was always a Markbass hater, I like an amp that colours the sound so clearly their neutrality was far from a selling point to me and I would rather go DI than use a MB amp. That's why I discover so late this beast which make me reconsider my thoughts about the brand completly !

      do you think its really the only exception? Other MB ampheads have knobs to change tone, are they still too nuetral? I also like some tone coloring by the amp itself

      @@jonathanosborn4800 I checked the new models a lot, most of them seem to have the three ways tone shaping knob (actually 2 ways in most cases) which gives it an instant ampegish flavor. Mb58R and LM4 models come to mind. But if you're looking for grit, an external device will be required, sansamp, darkglass... This kind of stuff

    Awesome review. But I would love if you play the same riff for the settings. Otherwise it's super hard to spot the differences.

    Has any one tried to replace the tube on this amp?

    • @nozydog771
      @nozydog771 Рік тому

      That’s what I’m wondering, how easy or difficult will that be I wonder! My guess is the hardest it would be would require the top taking off, unsoldering the pins then soldering the pins of the replacement. I wouldn’t expect it to be too difficult as the tube is right in the top there!
