- With Spider-Man being completely taken out of the lockdown archetype I've gotten a lot of questions of if Lockdown Galactus is still strong. The short answer is yes. The deck loses a bit of consistency and safety mainly from a Wave into Galactus on 4 play, but overall the core idea of the deck still functions incredibly well. I'm eyeing an upcoming card to be added into the deck on release, but for now death and a few other small changes to the deck make sure it's still viable!

I could see Spider-Man being played in T6 Galactus decks to clear the way preemptively and still allow Galactus to trigger
Just got Galactus today.. and had the pleasure of using a turn 5 Spidey on my opponent's turn 4 Destroyer.. they immediately snapped and started spamming emotes. Turn 6 Galactus on the open lane... opponent spams "I don't believe you.." and I win.
Happened to me some time ago (wave + lactus vs their spidey) I respect it

Glad to see this. Was a little demoralized when I got Galactus from the spotlight this week just for SD to remove one of his lines to victory

Imo, I think Alioth will be the ultimate replacement for Spider Man.
Example:
Wave > Galactus > Death? > Alioth
Keeping priority will be necessary, but the only real counters will be a Cosmo or Shang Chi play on T5. Other than that, priority on T6 guarantees a win with Alioth and unlike with Spider-Man making them retreat after Turn 5, the opponent is more likely to play through Turn 6 thinking they can just Shang Chi… 😜
I’m pretty curious about using Spider-Man to clear a lane for Galactus

I'm really glad that you're consistently able to tell us that this channel is growing and doing well. I've been watching your content for a while and appreciate that you're able to give us insight on all these different decks.
As a Galactus hater... I hate that I enjoyed playing this deck. I think you are right that avoiding the destroy cards helps conceal the Galactus play a lot more. And having the lockdown elements and Orca is a tactic I am all too familiar with, so the deck plays fairly naturally to me. I don't have Nebula so I swapped her out with a Yellowjacket; he is great early priority plus he's free so that's like deducting a free cost from Death if Galactus goes off. I may swap Electro for Mr Fantastic. The Combo of Mr Fantastic and Orka is actually really good. I can't tell you how many times I've won a lane because of the 2 extra power from Mr Fantastic. Orka does beat most of the high power cards, but unlike the opponent, you can't pair him with any cards on the same lane. So cards that are cheap and support him like Mr Fantastic, tend to work really well. Again, he also helps steal priority because he can attack 3 lanes if played in the middle. I may also consider swapping Electro out for Spider-Man though, because as others have mentioned, he can help clear a lane and because he leaves the lane as well, he won't prevent Galactus. Ironically, before this change I was testing out an Iron Fist into Spider-Man combo.... Same principle but it locked down the opponent for turn 6 allowing me to Galactus them freely. How did nobody else do that? It worked fairly well for me. Just had to be limited to the Middle or Right lanes. Then my game crashed, updated and Spidey was no longer the same so that was quite the surprise.
Great list as always! Used it to climb from 95 to infinite today, Prof X + Death is actually a pretty solid counter against Shang with prio and can net you good cubes. Had the craziest luck possible to get over the edge though. Played T3 Wave followed by Galactus on Death's domain, hoping I'd either draw X or my opponent would run scared. Didn't end up drawing X, but wound up going second into T6 and they played Scarlet + Shang to basically gift me the win with the Death I had sent out there to die😅
Love that deck! Got me quite a few conquest wins last season. Orca can be such a surprise win condition
Report: 2 hours ago I started playing this deck in ladder. Got me from 81 to 93! My fastest time climbing to my goal (90) after season start. Thanks TLSG! I hate myself since it's Galactus but the power... it's intoxicating.
Update: Just got me my first infinite ticket. Final match was 9 rounds against a control Galactus (Very similar, but he had Thanos)

Alioth is gonna be interesting in lockdown and galactus builds since they have to be played there. I can’t wait for that season. Also I finally got Jeff to show up in my shop and I’ve got him pinned.
Leader is a good replacement for Death. Works well with Galactus & Wave

I am running the sam list, just replaced shang with green goblin. A nice help for galactus and also shang seems kinda meh when galactus has priority.

I think you could have played Hobgoblin at 17:48. You have 6 energy from Electro so you have enough to play Hobgoblin even though he was hit by Iceman.

Honestly TLSG is the only one who makes me regret I still don't have Galactus... I like how he uses him as an "uncertainty" against Conquest opponents... just to way Gods intended :D Also Iron Fist - Shuri or other weird shenanigans are good :D But this one was awesome... wish I could play as our beloved TLSG :)
I like the flexibility of this deck quite a bit because it doesn’t solely rely on galactus it’s almost like a ramp deck in some ways. I opted for Magneto over death and destroyer over orka

Galactus into Leader just isn’t very consistent. Should be more of a last resort IMO. It is satisfying when it pops off though.
Any good replacement suggestions for nebula and Jeff? I'm saving up caches to pick them up when they appear but am currently missing both of them

Nebula carries prof x pretty hard but you could go with ice man to disrupt their curve a little bit! Jeff is tricky to replace but you could try Chavez for more draw consistency early or iron lad could be an interesting add!

it really feels like you can win with any deck in the game right now! it is very overwhelming (for me personally, when there’s not a clear best deck, i get in my own head about whether or not i won because of luck or the deck), but i think the game is more fun than ever

With Daken and destroy in the meta at the moment. Imo death and knull are both relevant.
Side note..... could spider-man not be used to take power away from the lane you want to drop Galactus?
It can but I found that its very inconsistent! It's hard to rely on his value doing what you need each match

I just wanted a deck to put my cool orka variant into. I’ve found it.
I always thought Galactus decks were fun before the rework (yeah, I'm one of THOSE people) and didn't think it was quite as braindead as some people did, but I've never been able to get it to work well since they changed him. These recent decks you've shown look fun, but both use Nebula who I don't have. Is there a good replacement for her in a deck like this that you can play on curve?
Not a perfect one, but you can do iceman instead. It hurts their potential plays and gets some early power put! Also nebula is coming up soon in the spotlight caches!!! ❤️

It's a great alternate win condition of galactus isn't possible! Lock in one lane with prof x, orka or orka + hob in another lane is incredibly tough to overcome!

Why come non of you guys ever really talk about ongoing cards? This game just seems like everybody uses reveal cards. Would like to see them bring more ongoing cards to match the reveal catds

In my opinion, I played 3 matches already with this deck and each time I didn't play Electro and I still won. I'm probably going to swap him out. I don't think you need to have him. Before he was used so that people could get an early Galactus and then throw down a Spider-Man or a Knull. You can do something similar with Wave, but I think in general, It's okay if you rely on a Galactus turn 6 win. Cards like Hobgoblin can really make a location undesirable enough to play into. But you can still lockdown a lane and play Orka instead. I think the slot is pretty flexible... I'd test out some of your favorite 3 cost cards honestly.

Yes. But it's also an uncertainty. On one hand you may not even play Galactus at all (which also means likely no Death either), but on the other hand if you lose the opportunity you don't have to auto retreat because you have other lines of play.
