Rockhounding a "new" spot in SW Oregon that took some major effort to access. There are a lot of indicators up there but the source is still hiding. Oregon Rocks! Rockhounding Oregon| Crystals, Jasper, and Zeolites
It's interesting to hear you talk through the process of where you want to go and look. Personally these wooded flat ish hills you search seem so far out of the normal for where I would look or expect to find things. Like how do that stuff not just get completely buried by plant matter? Have you tried dipping a gold pan in any of these creeks? 25:40 Those would be interesting to look at under the microscope.
Thanks man. Never tried for gold in the area but SW Oregon has LOTS of gold. As for the areas; The plant matter and detritus is temporary b/c of the seasons. It gets super hot and dry during the summer and then the rains come and wash it all away. This also means that I wont be going to these places again until winter (more than likely). As for the timestamp, I call that spot "scolecite hill" as that is where I find all my zeolites. Even the ones I sent ya ^^ Cheers m8
@@CurrentlyRockhounding Ive got all the gear and plan to do some prospecting this summer. We had a wet winter that will have pushed a lot down stream. Stay tuned eh
