The #1 overall pick of that draft is on his 3rd team. The 3rd overall pick is a backup somewhere. The 7th pick is Josh Allen. The next qb before Lamar is not in the league or on his 6th team. The only one to win an MVP and is still doubted is a proven winner at his position is Humble Lamar Jackson.. May God bless him with a superbowl championship.

Appreciate the video. Only thing I’ll say is, if you reached out to the Ravens flock we’d show you the plays that really display his INSTINCTUAL ability to play QB that is why he’s so successful! And 2019 was four years ago, which is where most of your clips came from - he’s a WAY better NFL QB right now

    • @theunlikelysuccess
      @theunlikelysuccess  Рік тому +3

Thanks, I did use mostly 2019 clips for NFL footage but the basis was that the narrative of him proving draft doubters wrong was completed when he won the MVP. Although, I would revisit his story if he wins a Super Bowl, since he many aren't ranking him as a top 5 QB in the NFL right now.
Probably should have expanded the footage though, thanks for the feedback!

I've been a Ravens fan since day one. ANYbody who knows ANYthing about the Ravens knows that before Lamar the Ravens were the team QBs and WRs went toTO DIE. It's rooted in Newsome's antiquated philosophy that WRs are skill position players NOT WORTH INVESTING IN! It's HIS CORE PHILOSOPHY. And it showed. The Ravens sucked at offense but excelled on D and STs. Lamar was both asked to do more then criticized at the same time for only being a running QB. It's been a crapfest since before he arrived. And all he's done was prove, time and time again, that he was right and they were wrong. FINALLY, the Ravens brought in an OC who knows what he's doing and they finally drafted a WR, Zay, who's killing it.
One caveat however: The Lamar bashing won't stop. They'll keep moving the goal posts. Hell, after Lamar and the Ravens trounced the Niners, Sexy Rexy claimed it was the DEFENSE, not Lamar, that was the real standout in the Niners game. Richard "DICK" Sherman is still ranting about the "stats". Stephan A. is his usual a-hole self. Shannon NOT TOO SHARPE is another one blasting Lamar over and over again. So really...I see no end to the bashing.

The only thing i would change and its ok to say bcus the nfl has a history of doing this. They dont ask lesser talented qbs to change positions. U named those that get drafted above him and he is better than EVERY QB IN HIS DRAFT CLASS INCLUDING JOSH but they only ask black qbs to change positions and they always have. They asked cordell stewart thats how and why he played 2 positions with the steelers. But bfore Stewart up to now with lj8... We know sam darnold trash but he hasnt been asked to be a punter... How many chances will baker get.... Rosen just faded off but he was hot garbage and he was never asked to be the mascot... Hell the bills were thinking about trading josh until they got diggs and with diggs josh still do dumb stuff... And the last playoff game last year he quit on the team basically and until now lj8 has never had a diggs type of player and still has accomplished more as a qb than allen with lesser talent around him.... But yea they only ask black qbs to change positions and if the white ones do change is because they were given a choice to do something else if they wanted to but if they dont they can continue to stink it uo at the qb spot

I am planning a future video on Vick and will be interested to see if it happened to him.

This conversation is a mirror image of nearly everything wrong with the world. We literally can't be honest. It is like talking to a lair and trying to reason with a lair. Like we are gas lighting and can't stop.
Is a overwhelming part of the NFL QB conversation we just don't say it. Black quarterbacks are always looked at as glass half empty while white QB's are looked at as glass half full. Every draft seasons with anonymous scouts questioning something related to the cognitive ability of a Black man playing QB... "can't he learn the offence?".. "he played in a spread system"... on and on and on.. always some type of comment about the cognitive ability of a black person.... just look how the talk about how Sam Howell is the answer after 1 start throwing 168 yards in a loss.. vs Desmon 'Riter' who played significately more games and had more "we got something here" moments... but he tone surrounding him is "replace at the next draft"
Artificial inflating white quarterbacks and mitigating black QB's in EVERY draft cycle. I see Drake Maye get hyped up as the 2nd best QB maybe best QB in next years draft cycle. While completely ignoring players like Micheal Penix Jr the nations leading passer who over that season AND CAREER has been more consistent more productive. While ignoring Drake Mayes last 4 games of 2022 losing 4 straight games totally 268 yards in any of those games max and 4 TD and 4 INT over that stretch... I look how Quin Ewers is hyped up and i just keep thinking to myself if that QB competition at Texas was open he may not even BE the starting QB.. and i am not talking about the Manning kid.... a complete OVER hype on EVERY level of football from highschool to college and in the pros.... to see Jared Goff get hyped up when his career stats and performance has look fairly similar to to Ryan Tannihill minus a super bowl appearence. While Dak Presscot is drilled by fans and media for tossing interceptions when his career high in INT is 15 for a season... 4 more than Josh Allen last year.. With more career touchdowns and less Interceptions than Goff... when Eli Manning had 3 seasons of 20 plus interceptions...While the 49ers stayed with Alex Smith on their roster for 6 years before he finally had a break thru season (which in reality was him going 17TD to 4 int and leading the NFL in sacks taken and throw aways in his BREAK OUT season )..... Massive Massive levels of hypocrisy.... when i look back and ask see 20 years of drafting NFL QBs and i simply ask.. who made a pro bowl.. and 2nd contract or a conference championship game?.... of white QBs drafted from 2002 to 2022 of the 59 drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds 20 fit that discription 34%... where as black QBs over that same stretch drafted in the 1st and 2nd round that either made a probowl, 2nd contract, or conference championship game.. 26 was drafted and 18 met that standard 61.5%.... nearly double the % chance of panning out.
There is a sense of this changing happening and that change was felt all the way back with Warren Moon. That if given a fair chance that all 32 teams would have QB's that are black. And this the NFL and some media and fans fight against this tooth and nail. The double standard and gas lighting is easy to see. It is in EVERY element of this sport and all levels and is a microcosm of the greater society.
Lamar Jackson can throw for 6000 yards and rush for 2000 yards and lead a undefeated Ravens team winning it all .... and these same people will rather have a white QB not as productive. That is why old school white men like Bill Polin etc just have to all die off because unless Lamar Jackson turns out to be actual Jesus in his return they will always want to switch him to wideout.
So asking why and trying to do a deep dive on this without look at the history and being HONEST just makes you another person that can't be trusted because it is just more gas lighting.... Race is BIG part of this. Because of Lamar Jackson was white red head white guy named Patrick McCullen.... Patrick McCullens Jersey's would be EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE following him like a cult following. That is the truth about this that people just won't discuss honestly .... and MOST are tired of being constantly lied too.

Stop crying got dammit. The dude has 2mvp, had 2 seasons where he had the best team, a top 5defense every yr with a top 10 offense and is 2-4 in the playoff. to much is given MUCH IS EXPECTED. They did the same thing to Jordan till he won so enough with the bs

@tom97009 Not crying, just pointing out that it was odd. He definitely has to prove it in the playoffs. I think Lamar would acknowledge he hasn't played well enough to win.

How could anyone expect him to be a NFL receiver if he never played the position over all the other receivers that play the game ?

What skills did he display that showed he would be a good NFL receiver? When did he ever play the position? So why even bring it up? Because y’all were hating on him but God had his back 😂

He was always very successful until he went to pro . This shows a lot of high paid reporters don’t know what is obvious and their ego makes them look stupid when they don’t admit how wrong they were.

Bill Polian came out a few years later and admitted how wrong he was. Unsure if Mel Kiper or Colin Cowherd admitted how wrong they were on it though.
